So... I have a rather extensive history of breeding challenges on this site. It started not long after I joined with the Breed Out the Ugly Challenge. Its success inspired the rise of new challenges to plague bedazzle Flight Rising with. From the 100 Hatchling Challenge to the Rainbow Road Breeding Challenge to the Legacy of War, it's clear that my challenge is to stop making so many freaking challenges.
And guess what? I already failed!
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Opposites Attract Breeding Challenge -- one that not combines the fun (and frustration) of a normal breeding challenge with glorious, Romeo and Juliet styled lore.
How about some optional rules? Pick however many you'd like if any of them interest you!
As always, if anyone is interested in taking on the challenge, feel free to post your founders -- and your progress -- in this thread! I would love to see what people come up with. :D I know that I'll be starting soon, too, once I make a little more room in my lair.
And -- even more importantly -- have fun!

Breeding the first heir:
1. Before you adopt your founders, you need to examine what Flight you are currently a part of. Since there are 11 Flights and doing traditional "opposites" does not work, the "opposites" are going to be from the Flight that counters yours and is countered by yours in the Coliseum. Therefore...
2. Now that you know what types of dragons you are searching for, scour the Auction House for a dragon of each Flight that screams "Flight representative." They do not necessarily have to be breeds that are native to that Flight or have any particular genes, but they must at least have the Flight element AND they must remind you significantly of their Flight of origin. Obviously, they must also be compatible for breeding.
3. Breed them in one of your nests. Yep! Even though their colors will likely be far apart on the color wheel, even if their breeds and genes are of extremely different rarities, do it.
4. Pick your favorite of the hatchlings. He or she will be your first heir! If you get one-egged, I'm sorry. You cannot breed your founders more than once for the purposes of this challenge.
All generations afterwards (and end-goals!):
1. Find a dragon of your Flight that screams "Flight representative." Once again, they do not necessarily have to be the breed(s) that are native to your Flight or have any particular genes, but they must be of your Flight's element and remind you of your current Flight. This dragon also must be capable of breeding with your heir!
2. Once they're of age, breed them.
3. From this point on, you must select a method by which to permanently choose your heirs. This can be selecting the firstborn, the youngest, using a randomizer such as random.org, or by cherry-picking your favorite.
4. Repeat this process until you achieve a dragon that embodies one of your favorite aspects of your Flight! They don't necessarily have to be perfect "Flight representative" material to some general audience; they just must remind you of something you love that makes you proud to be part of the Flight you're in. (Ex: the moon for a Shadow clan, a cloudy sky for a Wind clan, etc.)

All dragons must be triple-gened.
All dragons, including the founders, must have a particular gene to carry on the legacy (ex: an Alloy secondary). This way the entire family stays connected somehow!
The dragons you pick as your founders -- as well as the mates for your heirs -- must be breeds from their respective Flights, regardless of differences in cooldown. If you're from a Flight that has only one Flight breed (aka: you're not in Light or Wind), then you may use Bogsneaks as an alternative.
Set a spending cap for yourself.
All mates for your heirs must also have been bred in your clan! While much harder, this particular optional rule can lead to some pretty awesome lore.

Reps for Sale
Sometimes you see a dragon who's a perfect rep for this challenge, but either isn't one meant for your Flight or you've already picked your founders. In that case, perhaps they may find a home in another person's challenge! Ping me if you're interested in selling a dragon with the appropriate eye color to be a rep for this challenge. c:
