Completed!
And here we have all the stuff that I'm happy to have completed!
Because what good is a quest thread if you don't document your successes?!
Familiar Triumphs!
My Sprite collection was completed sometime in 2014!
I managed to get the hardest sprite right before it shot up from a roughly 1,000,000 treasure by trading a Coarsefur Yeti and a couple of other rarer-at-the-time coli dropped familiars. At the time I was appalled that I traded away SO MUCH for a single familiar, but now I look at the Light Sprite prices and I thank my past self for being impulsive.
Plague through Nature were all obtained during their festival, and Lightning, Fire, and Arcane were all gifted to me in my earlier days on the site, before they cost quite so much.
The Red-Footed Akirbeak was the last "rare and retired" one I had to obtain that I hadn't been around for, and I got him in September of 2014!
Most of my Boss familiars have been obtained through good old fashioned hard work, while leveling my billion dragons up.
I have been lucky enough to have a few gifted to me, though, and am forever grateful for those!
The most recent ones were the Wartoad (a random gift that almost made me cry) and the Spiney Whale (a Valentine's gift from a lovely friend).
The Gathering familiars have been the most fun but also the most frustrating to get, I think.
While I lucked into being gifted a couple (the Manticore and Chimera), I had to spend turn after turn on some.
The only one I've gotten frustrated and given up on was the Silky Mole--- I got it's counterpart within the first few days of digging for it, but the Silky Mole gave me quite the chase- I leveled up FIVE levels with no luck. When I maxed out digging, I got frustrated and bought it instead, haha.
Leveling Triumphs!
The following dragons are at level 25!
Marivaunt, Velia, Burlet, Lir, Veritas
Tanzia
Bucky, Coulson, Hawkeye, Hawkeye, Widow
Cap, Stark, Banner, Thor, Loki
JARVIS, DumE, Butterfingers, You, Jen
Rescue, Anarkia, Kvasir, Demonfall, VII
Brud
Hoarding Triumphs!
Vista Triumphs!
Dragon Triumphs!
I consider all of my Avengers dragons (page 2 of my lair!) a triumph, but
especially JARVIS.
I had an identical Pearlcatcher and made the mistake of previewing her as an Imperial. I quickly fell in love and knew that it was destined to be my JARVIS, who had been giving me a hard time.
I managed to find an identically colored male Imperial who had Circuit, and after MONTHS and MONTHS and MONTHS and MONTHS of trying (so many months, seven to be exact) I managed to get a female Imperial out of them. I tossed some genes on her and fell instantly in love!
My Flight Reps are another batch I'm super proud of. I started collecting ancient dragons with no real goal in mind, but as I worked on my lore and added Flight Reps, I realized they'd be great for that! Fire and Earth were easily the most elusive, but I got there eventually.
I'm still always on the lookout for oldies I can afford, but with those last two I'd be happy even if I never got another oldie.
I'm not sure what gave me the idea that I needed Flight Rep alternates? But I got the idea and decided that since I was already collecting dragons from 2013 that shared my birthday, I may as well give them A Purpose.
Fire and Earth were, AGAIN, the hardest to find. I had to resort to sifting through dragons born that day and messaging Fire-and-Earth owners to see if they were open to the idea of parting with them.
(Don't worry- if they were obviously "spoiled" or requested no inquiries about their dragons, I moved on without messaging!)
When I got Iamora and Hiten, I did a wee happy dance and finally told myself to stop obsessively buying birthday dragons, haha~
Lair and Coax, on my first page, may not look like much, but they mean the most to me. They're tributes to the two dachshunds of my heart.
Lair was the harder to find of the two, and as such is kind of my favorite.
I try not to have TOO many tribute dragons, but I do have a row (currently the second row of page seven) of tributes.
Oddity and Spaceboy are Bowie tributes, born on his last birthday--- going for his deathday just seemed to depressing for me. My heart hurt too much at the thought.
I also have a Doctor Who tribute and two Slytherin tributes who make me pretty happy.
