@dillysAlt @zzzhorses @Icystorm It's been a while, but Caia and Iamthatis' nest has finally hatched! Sorry for the wait. ----- Caia's second nest was finally hatching. She had nearly toppled into the lava twice with anticipation. Luckily, both times she had caught herself in time. She looked over at the Mirror, the father of her hatchlings. She couldn't help but feel terrible. She would need to abandon him for a new mate soon. She wondered why she had accepted Mudsplatter's offer. Why was she doing this? There was no way achieving her dream of hatchling caretaker was worth this. It being her dream job didn't mean that any of this was okay. But Caia turned back to the first egg, which was about to hatch. The egg was covered with a web of cracks. It would be any moment now. As soon as she thought that, the hatchling finally tumbled out. Of course, he was another Mirror. That made sense, since both Caia and Iamthatis were Mirrors too. He gave a soft chirping sound and crawled towards Caia. The next egg was shuddering, and a few minutes later it cracked open. This was another male Mirror. He was slightly larger than his older brother and crept towards Caia as well. The egg, the largest of them all, was barely cracked. Caia couldn't help but feel anxious. Was something wrong? Should she help the hatchling inside? Finally, though, the egg began shuddering, hard. Cracks crept over the surface and finally a large hatchling crawled out. This hatchling was definitely the largest of the three. He squirmed over to join his brothers, almost shoving them aside. "What should we name them?" Iamthatis finally asked, glancing at the hatchlings who were chirping at Caia's side, probably hoping for food. Caia glanced at the oldest son of her most recent nest. The smallest one. "How does Damian sound?" she asked, nodding at him. Iamthatis perked up. "I like that name!" They both turned to the middle hatchling. Iamthatis frowned. "What about Mattimeo?" he suggested. Caia considered the name, her head tilted. "Alright," she nodded. "And what about the last one?" Both of them stared at their youngest hatchling. He was play-wrestling with his brothers, easily pinning them down. He spread his wings and roared, although it sounded more like a chirp. For hours, they traded names. Luc. Steelfang. Brightflame. Omen. Eigrigg. Bearking. Nobleraven. Zot. Furyscale. Evileye, even. At one point, Iamthatis even suggested Impossible-to-name, since he was so difficult to choose a name for, but it was too long. Finally, Caia suggested Fury. At last, after half a day, all the hatchlings were named. ----- Damian, Mattimeo, and Fury are all up for adoption! They will all come with mini-bios. EDIT: All taken!

Caia's second nest was finally hatching.

@dillysAlt @zzzhorses @Icystorm ----- Almost immediately after her nest with Iamthatis had hatched, Caia set out looking for a new mate. She wasn't sure why she was continuing with the challenge that Mudsplatter had given her. But for some reason, she had not decided to stop. She had been wandering around for only a few minutes when she bumped into Morganite. She literally walked straight into him. "I'm so sorry!" she yelped to the blind Pearlcatcher. Said blind Pearlcatcher huffed at her. After she helped him stand again, he stomped away, glaring at her the entire time. Well, actually glaring at the wall behind her, since he couldn't see. Caia tilted her head. Well, he fit all of her criteria. He had no mate, after all. And she doubted he even cared about hatchlings. At least he wouldn't try to help her with raising the hatchlings. She nodded her head. It was time for a new nest. ----- It had been surprisingly easy. Caia now had a new nest of 3 eggs. Again. She really had hoped for more. But it was better than only one or two eggs. She turned to see Iamthatis, laughing as he and the hatchlings played chase the tail, rolling into the nursery. She looked down at her new nest, guilty. At the very least she could have waited a while for a new nest. But it was done. Caia was on her third nest... And her third mate. @dillysAlt @zzzhorses @Icystorm The eggs were hatching. All three eggs were shuddering as Caia, the only dragon in the hatchery, watched her three newest children. This time, her mate was not with her, which made Caia feel a bit better about having to find a new one. The first egg had a web on cracks lining its surface. It shuddered and shook until finally, a female Pearlcatcher climbed out. This was Caia's first non-Mirror child. She bit into the pieces, eating her rocky, lava-veined eggshell. Caia had heard of Pearlcatchers doing this, but it was strange to see it. But if Caia remembered right, soon the hatchling would regurgitate a pearl. Then Caia turned her attention to her second egg. The hatchling had managed to make lots of progress while its older sister was consuming the eggshell. As the egg finally cracked open, a female Mirror crawled out. She had a moss-colored underbelly and soon crawled towards her Pearlcatcher sister. The last egg lay there, trembling. Only a few cracks marred the surface. Caia felt worried. The egg had made so little progress. Was Caia supposed to help the hatchling inside along by cracking the shell it was trapped in? As soon as Caia laid a trembling claw on the shell, another shudder occurred and another crack wove its way across the egg's surface. Caia quickly withdrew her talon with a sigh of relief. The egg was hatching by itself after all. At last, though it took much longer than any of Caia's other eggs, enough time for the Pearlcatcher to regurgitate her pearl, in fact, the last egg hatched. Out tumbled another female Mirror. She quickly decided on Himika for the eldest, Moss for the second eldest, and Heartha for the last. ----- Himika, Moss, and Heartha are up for adoption! Edit: ALL TAKEN

@dillysAlt @zzzhorses @Icystorm After Caia's third nest hatched and the hatchlings were all sleeping, Caia entrusted them the Mudsplatter (despite it being Mudsplatter's fault she had to do this) and went off in search for a new mate. There really were not many choices. There were surprisingly few mateless males in the Clan not related to Caia. Currently, she could pick between Flamecrystal and one of Morganite's three sons with Springleaf. Since Caia had just had a nest with Morganite, it would probably be awkward to nest with one of his sons. So she chose Flamecrystal. It took a while to get him to nest with her. But finally, after promising he wouldn't have to be a particularly attentive father, they ended up with two eggs. It wasn't a lot. Two was only one more than one. But Caia would take it. It was two closer to her goal.
