I'm considering doing this, but I need space first.

Can I be added to the pinglist for your current one and your next one?

CassieRose We would be delighted to see you take this challenge! :D I'll add you right away to the pinglist for my current and second runthrough, too. (As a quick warning, though, my second runthrough primarily updates on
this lore thread as opposed to this main one. Let me know if you revoke your interest in that run for that reason -- I wouldn't mind, since reading piles of lore isn't everyone's thing. ^^)

Yep, now I'm gone and started this.
Meet Ali and Sumitra.

I'm going to add a little twist. Ali will mate twice, with two different dragons, then I'll treat both heirs as two different legacy challenges. When I get the 10th heir for both end, they get to compete against each other to be the one true heir. Yep, it's twice as much space needed, but it'll be fun.

When the day had come for the two brothers to fight for their right to continue the legacy, Philomelus was first to arrive.

Plutus came a little later, being distracted by quite the shinies on his way to the Training Fields.

"Look!", he yelled, his voice scratching. "I found treasure!" Holding up a ring with a sparkly stone, Plutus rushed towards his little brother and handed him the treasure. "Look. A pretty stone!"
Pilomelus was still quite caught up, looking at his brother's treasure, when he heard screaming. When he looked up, Plutus was attacked by Sweetpuffs, and the Spiral wasn't winning. Philomelus charged the birds, chased them away. But it was too late, the body of his elder brother laid on the ground. Unmoving.
Philomelus slid the ring around one of his claws, and went back home alone.
Home wasn't a place where his family was still living. His parents had long left, and now Plutus was gone too. There wasn't anything left for Philomelus, was there?
The soft sound of sobbing pierced through the Fae's thoughts. It came from inside his family's nest... Slowly, carefully going inside, he found a Ridgeback, all alone.

He approached her without making any noise, but she noticed him anyway. Before she could even say anything, Philomelus spoke: "Why you sad?" The female dragon looked up at him and sniffed. "My clan leader told me that I would be better outside of the clan. I've been walking for days. Can I stay here?"
While it was a lot of words, Philomelus understood the question. And he was alone, so he nodded.
In the following months, Misty became a very important dragon to him.

Well I'm not having a lot of luck with these heirs. Guess I'll just keep on playing.
Our winner is Philomelus!

The only thing Philomelus has left is his brother's treasure, his nest, and Misty, who walked into his life as if the universe had planned it like that. He did not want to socialize. He did not want to talk to anyone but his mate. And her, he told her everything.

Exiled from her old clan, Misty was scared, tired and alone when she broke into Philomelus' home. He allowed her to stay, and two lonely souls grew ever so close. Misty never really grew out of her shy, anxious self, matching Philomelus' desire to be invisible to the tee. It was as if they were made for each other.
