My second clutch for this challenge hatched last night, revealing the birth of three little Spirals! Everyone, meet Steggsun, Spearchargin, and Phistory!

Although I like the way Steggsun and Phistory look better than Spearchargin, those two slackers each got a tertiary whose color has already been seen along my rainbow road. In honor of his dedication, I've thus decided that Spearchargin will be the heir for this generation. And -- continuing the legacy of male Spirals whose mates have long cooldowns -- we have another female Imperial as his mate. This is Forcawhi!

Thankfully, along with being an absolutely beautiful specimen and knocking off another three colors from my list, Forcawhi is doing two excellent things for my challenge. First of all, her cooldown ends in seventeen days, which means that she'll be ready to breed by the time Spearchargin is. Thank goodness! Perhaps even better than that, though, is the fact that she has Underbelly! Smoke is my least favorite tertiary gene, so any and all hatchlings that inherit Underbelly would be greatly appreciated. (Of course, if any of them get Crystal or Facet, they'll probably default to my heir because [i]yes.[/i])
