@Dreamnorn Thats a good idea. I realized they might be better paired that way but I was considering just making my challenge a bit harder. And yeah both those girls got beaten with the ugly stick in some way. Do you think it'll be harder if I keep it F1 x M1 and F2 x M2?

@felinekind Oh jeez. Is it weird I'm almost partial to that bottom-most Snapper? I mean granted, I know he's ugly, but like... it reminds me of a Pug with those colors and that face.

The nice scry possibilities, though, are VERY nice. Definitely workable.

Can't wait to see if either of your eggs luck out with such lovely colors~

~

@Lavendeer Yes, I'd say it would definitely be harder if you kept it F1xM1 and F2xM2! What you wish to do with your Double Ugly challenge, though, is all up to you. c: Either way, I hope RNGsus shines down on your nests.

Have you considered checking scry children for each pair to see which ones you think might be ultimately easier / harder / yield more interesting results?

@Dreamnorn If you find one that you like when I breed them, you're welcome to one. Lol. It'll be awhile before they're bred, so I might breed the male with another female and then breed the heir with the Imperial. I definitely don't think the Tundra is THAT bad but he is in no terms beautiful to me. xD My goal for this is to wind up with an Imperial from the breedings. I think I'll aim to breed up to a Ridgeback/Snapper/Spiral/Pearlcatcher and then up again to a Skydancer, then to an Imperial. So... @Impception Oh, really? :D That would be fabulous. I'm always willing to open my heart to Tundra dragons. But sure, go nuts! I hope you get the Imperial you want. c:

As for that Tundra male, it's not so much that he's bad per say, but his tertiary needs some reworking. I feel like Stained might look quite nice on him, or maybe Glimmer. Just... Okapi is not a fitting tert for such a boy.

EDIT: Woops! Replied before I saw your gorgeous scry possibilities with that Spiral. Those are all honestly really, really good! And even the ones who one might consider on the iffy side are totally workable with their colors and/or genes.

@impception
that last spiral is definitely workable! those are some really good potentials too!!

@dreamnorn
you could definitely impliment a tag section for each challenger! like for people that have breed-change challenges or for when they finish you could just tag it as #complete! that way you won't have to separate any sections or anything and it'll be super easy to find stuff (or like #tundra only, #in progress, etc)

crazy hard mode challenge: first breeds are not coatls, final breed is a coatl

This is getting so long omg. I'm so sorry. @felinekind That looks like a completely different dragon! Those genes are perfect on him. *o* @Lavendeer I think F1 and M2 actually have some nice ranges! And F2 and M1 would work too. @dreamnorn Exactly! You've got all the time in the world. Chances are if you finish today or tomorrow, you'll just stare at it for a few more days and keep making changes as fit. Also, it's probably worth mentioning that I know next to nothing about google docs. I was imagining something like excel (which I also know nothing about), where you could do values and equations as search parameters and whatnot. I definitely don't think it's anything that's necessary from the beginning. But once the basic thing is set up, I'll try looking into all the cool things you can do and see just how ridiculous my demands are! I love the victory hall thing. I'm imagining it like a little hall of fame haha. (That's probably the best attitude to have. Tastes change after all, so it makes sense that a dragon you loved once might just have to leave one day. I tend to be the type where I feel like it's a waste to exalt a dragon I liked and spent money on, so I just feel so guilty!) Also, I completely agree. I have every intention of breeding away the Mirror-ness. I actually like them as hatchlings, but the adults are just no-go. And let's be real... all of my babies are gonna look like that last one. You know it to be true. I'm just trying to look at the possibilities and decide on what I want from these, cause I know I'm getting nowhere without a plan. It does look like my best bet will be to settle for Brown/Yellow range, which I can work with. This is the first time I've done a breeding project of any kind, ever (I know, great pick for my first one) and I'm so excited! Also also, I gave my founders a scry, and lo and behold, Grainlord's colors don't clash nearly as much without the poitox! Her tert isn't even that far off, but I don't like it on anything that's not spines. Sorry for the image spam! I haven't even looked into possible breed changes yet haha. @Judithan I mean, I suppose I could, although I don't know how hashtags work in the context of Google Docs. I know on many websites clicking them will send someone into a screen to see posts which also contain that hashtag, but Google Docs does not do this automatically.... hmm. HMMM.

Would this be more of a "Ctrl+F" kind of thing for quick searches? Because as of right now, that's the simplest way I can see their implementation working -- and, actually, that sounds effective enough to me! ;D

~

@Raisin Aww, it's okay. I know a lot of people who don't use Google Docs; I happen to love them, though, as they're like Word which I can access anywhere without always needing to attach documents to emails or use a USB for! I get what you mean regarding Excel (or Google Sheets?) to do this, but I don't think that would be the best in terms of uploading pictures to show progress (or lack thereof) in the challenge. This makes me inclined to believe that Google Docs would be better for this purpose, but again... definitely some stuff for me to look out for as I format things.

(I would probably feel the same way about my dragons if I didn't make my lore so that Exaltation is the highest fate a dragon can succumb to. XD I feel like, for the most part, they would want it to be this way. I'm not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but my only real exception to that would be my custom progen, Veridios... he's more of a "let's stay behind and watch my family grow" sort of dragon than a "hell yeah let's serve Glademama" sort of dragon.)

Totally agree with you on the Mirror thing! They're so cute as hatchlings, but their adult forms... I'm not sure if it's their proportions or poses, but something about them just doesn't appeal to me. But ooh, I'm loving the red/brown/orange/white range you're thinking of leaning towards! Gives me the feeling of autumn turning into winter in the best sort of way. c: Like hot chocolate, pumkin spice, and a first snow. This will actually be my first breeding project, too, outside of the more casual thing I've got going for my main lore, so we'll be in this together!

...But either way, I'm praying to RNGsus for you, because I'm pretty sure we all know at least 90% of these hatchlings will end up at probably the same questionable level as their parents. xD

Also: I love the scrying you've done on your founders. They're both actually quite salvageable with the right traits!

The Destined, and the Butterfly/Caterpillar. The Truly Ugly had been eliminated. But the Truly Ugly still lurked, waiting, waiting.. I purchased a Renaming Scroll, content with the Butterfly's name but not with the Destined. His name with his clan was now Suckerpunch (suggested by Dreamnorn), and the Butterfly's Caterpillar. These were their true names, though. I needed to check their potential offspring first in the Scrying Workshop. How could I not know until the time came? I quickly checked their offspring, and here is a few examples of their offspring: For the first four, they were the first four that I encountered. Why must you do this to me, Scrying Workshop!?)) Now it was time for the waiting game. I shall provide updates between this time in and the time that their breeding cooldown ends. So I had chosen my Mates.

I quickly checked their offspring, and here is a few examples of their offspring:
progeny?body=5&bodygene=2&breed=2&element=7&gender=1&tert=151&tertgene=11&winggene=10&wings=147&auth=6557a0c47974d736d1db1a0b2cf7935ec2296b61&dummyext=prev.png

Now it was time for the waiting game. I shall provide updates between this time in and the time that their breeding cooldown ends.

Farewell, readers, and I shall see you next time. This was a short chapter, but hopefully they will get longer.

EDIT: I remembered! It was their future offspring checker.
I feel like I'm missing something...
@Dreamnorn

I'm definitely excited to get into this. I've never done anything like this before - unless breeding fodder for fodder and winding up with my literal dream dragon counts. xD

I actually only just started liking Tundras. Just a week ago I got my first permanent Tundra? Which is weird, because I really didn't like them. But now I'm starting to see they're not so bad. The male art bugs me a bit but the females are lovely!

I definitely agree about the Okapi too. I'm not going to gene him up personally, but he'd do a lot better with Glimmer in my opinion. Lol.

@Judithan

I'm glad you think so too! That was one of my favorite dragons in the scry, honestly!

@Raisin

Those Skydancer girls are GORGEOUS! That first one especially! Goodness, I love that a lot. If you get a close replica of that, please let me know. I'd love to have a baby like that.
