So, I have a dragon I want to change to a Gaoler.

This is what he would look like when changed, if the genes are kept the way they are.

When I go to use the breed change item, it shows the warning message that the genes are not compatible, despite Jaguar, Rosette, and Runes being available for both modern and ancient breeds.
The way the message is worded, it sounds like if the modern and ancient breeds can both have the same gene, it shouldn't be reverted to Basic when the breed is changed.
Is this a bug, or am I just interpreting the wording of this wrong? If it's the latter, I think the message should be changed so it's more clear that all the genes will be changed to Basic when the item is used, instead of implying that some genes will be unaffected. I don't want to use this item on him until I know for sure what's going on here. [emoji=tundra sad size=1]

I was wondering this too.

Hi @
caydebug,
To clarify, "Basic" is the only universally compatible gene. Other than basic, Gaolers can only have genes that include "Gaoler" in the name, like "Bar (Gaoler)" or "Wintercoat (Gaoler)"
Even though, switching to/from ancient breeds
always sets all genes to basic, we show the warning only when it will result in losing a "not compatible" gene. That's also why we made sure the preview would be accurate, so you can see exactly what your dragon will look like when various genes are reset.
I hope this clear it up. Coel looks awesome, BTW!
