@IndineWestepa Welcome to Flight Rising, you two! The first thing to understand is that the dragon market is already full to bursting. Lair spaces become exponentially more expensive as you continue to upgrade your lair's size, so each slot becomes a valuable commodity for both buyers and sellers alike. After all, nobody wants a lair full of dragons that won't sell and no room to buy the ones they actually like - just as you want to hatch that Starmap nest! As I type this, there are over 63,000 listings of Dragons on the Auction House. Every single user on the site currently has a maximum upgrade of 200 lair spaces, the vast majority having far less. This means your dragons are competing for potential lair space with every other dragon on the market - whether your buyer plans to exalt, keep, or resell them, they still have to take into account their limited lair space in the meantime. That means that if the dragon is too costly, undesirable, or just doesn't match what anyone is looking for at the moment, their chances of selling faster aren't optimal. If you aren't aware of it already, though, there is a mechanic designed to ease the strain of the high dragon population, and that is exalting. For an in-depth explanation of this mechanic, and how it affects the dragon market, Exalting and You: A PSA does an excellent job of that. Without it, nobody would have the space to buy new dragons, and nobody could sell any either! The whole site would come to a screeching halt. In essence, exalting removes a dragon from the game permanently (lore-wise, sending them to work with your clan's elemental deity) and thus reduces the active population, provides the user with money relative to the dragon's level, and prevents the Auction House from becoming a wasteland of dragons that never sell. However, this also means that you have to take into account that your dragons may not always sell to be kept. If someone exalts a dragon you sold, remember that the dragon is no longer considered "yours" once it's out of your lair. If you would not like a hatchling or dragon to be exalted Unnamed once it's been sold, name them before selling. Asking someone to name a dragon after selling it to them can be considered harassment if repeated, and Renaming scrolls only cost 6,000 Treasure - if someone likes a dragon, a name they'd like to be different won't deter them. Of course, if you don't care about Unnameds and likely never will, nothing's stopping you from selling Unnamed...but they may be given an even sillier name. I once saw the random name generator spit out "Dirt." You can also follow Dom Watch, a weekly topic where members of the community discuss dominance battles, during which two or more flights attempt to exalt more dragons than the other. This raises the lowest price of "fodder" dragons being sold to exalt, meaning you can sell your dragons to be exalted for a higher price than usual. Even hatchlings are susceptible to rising prices, since they may grow up before the end of the week so they can be leveled and exalted. Back to your hatchlings! Like I said, your dragons are competing with lair space, so if they're considered too expensive or not to the potential buyers' tastes, it may take a while for them to sell. Your hatchlings do look lovely, though, and that Primal especially may fetch quite a price! Here's my advice;

Before pricing, always check the lowest price for adult dragons, and whether or not a Dominance battle is happening. They might be going for more or less than you think, and if you sell for too low during a Dom battle, they will almost certainly be "flipped" (re-sold for a higher price) and/or exalted.
Search for your dragons' colors on the Auction House. Genes and breed can be changed customized to the buyer's tastes; color*, element, and gender cannot. See what people are pricing for dragons similar to yours, then check with genes and/or element if there's enough to compare to. Customize your search based on how many there are, and gauge the price based on that. NOTE: If you have a special eye type, like that Primal, absolutely check for that as well! Primal, Multi-Gaze, and Faceted dragons can be much more valuable than those with more common eye types!
Don't be afraid to lower your price. If a dragon isn't selling, then you might want to reconsider their price. Sure, there's every chance someone will want that same dragon, and would pay any price for it...but are you patient enough to wait for them to eventually come along? Lowering the price makes it easier for someone to decide they want it! I personally lower prices by 5-10 Gems (5-10,000 Treasure if I'm selling in Treasure) for every week they do not sell. The payout might be lesser, sure, but the value of that lair space is often far greater.
"Rare" does not automatically equal value. "[X] of a kind" is kind of a stretch, as there are hundreds of potential combinations, some of which haven't even been hatched yet. Only "one/two of a kind"s are considered particularly valuable, and if someone has a breeding pair to make more identical babies, that kinda goes out the window. Furthermore, if the dragon itself doesn't look that great (which your kids don't, by the way; this is more for future reference!), "rarity" doesn't mean much if the dragon looks bad. Rarity can be a great point of value, but it's not the be-all end-all of price advice.
Rarity can, however, make comparing prices difficult. This is why I recommend taking advantage of the "color ranges" option, as this gives you a more broad search of dragons similar to yours. Note that gene types don't make much of a difference, even for Gem genes like Crystal; unless someone is seeking out that specific gene, it likely won't add much to their price.
However, popularity doesn't always equal value either! Whenever a new gene like Starmap comes out, everyone scrambles to buy it and breed it onto pretty hatchlings...which, of course, saturates the market til it's full, therefore reducing their value faster. You can also find amazingly pretty color combinations for dirt cheap, since so many people liked it and bred it until the same thing happened to the rest of the dragon market; too many dragons, not enough space. This is why exalting is an important mechanic, even for pretty dragons...if every dragon on the site is drop-dead gorgeous, we'd run into the same problem where nobody can buy or sell for lack of lair space. Exalting in general can turn a good profit, too, which means more cash for people to actually buy new dragons with!
*There is an item called a Tri-Color Scatterscroll, but it completely randomizes your dragon's colors. Unless a dragon is sentimental for personal reasons (like if it's your ugly progenitor, or a birthday/anniversary dragon), I cannot recommend using it. [item=Tri-Color Scatterscroll] In short, pricing dragons is one of the absolute hardest things on Flight Rising. The market and its tastes are always changing, and it's a constant balancing act of space and payout to keep up. Once you've gotten used to the comparison searches and the exalting mechanic, however, it becomes a little easier to feel it out over time. If you plan to breed your hatchlings again, you might want to investigate starting a hatchery to advertise the hatchlings and let buyers contact you easier. Overall, I wish you both good luck in pricing and selling these beautiful babies, and I hope my long post was helpful to you! Have fun!

In essence, exalting removes a dragon from the game permanently (lore-wise, sending them to work with your clan's elemental deity) and thus reduces the active population, provides the user with money relative to the dragon's level, and prevents the Auction House from becoming a wasteland of dragons that never sell. Tri-Color Scatterscroll

@NightmareJudge

You live up to your name, I like it.

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for that super long post! I love reading :) Thank you for the tips, I'll go check pricing... I wonder if I can sell them for a little higher than fodder price... hmm Primals appear to be going for 10KT... okay.

Edit: I reread your post. A hatchery? Ooohhh maybe! I tried it once upon a time (Read: I was too scared to and rock-paper-scissored my sister into posting it for me) but nada.
