@Kpribbit Welcome to the thread! And best of luck with your goal of lucid dreaming :) Also, it's awesome that you don't have nightmares, even cooler that it was a recurring one you beat--if you have any tips, I'm sure folks would really love to hear them. Also, if it helps at all, not everything in a dream is symbolic! The nightmare nun might've looked like your mom just because your brain needed someone female and she was recently in memory.

@Sigmar Welcome! I've heard that a lot, folks who lucidly dream without knowing there's a word for it, or who naturally have great recall. Either way, you're in the right place for making it more consistent :) I love stories pulled from dreams! Are you a writer, artist, dungeon master, etc?

@logical Hey there! Furbies! Alright I gotta ask, do you have any idea why? I'm kinda jealous you can get fictional folks in your dreams! So if you read a book, are those characters likely to show up that night? Anyways, best of luck with the recall/lucidity!

@dragonlady1803 Hey there fellow dream-drawer! Man that's so cool, I was hoping someone else who draws stuff from their dreams might join up ^.^ Would you consider posting some of what you draw? I'd love to see it, and I bet everyone else would, too!

@BeckAlistiere Welcome to the thread! I'm glad to hear someone else is enjoying reading all the dreams (and you had a great one yourself...precious little kittens, sorry about your dream-mom). I'm with you on the "dreams with a plot" thing, as well as with sleeping position. It's super rare that I can fall asleep on my back and not just automatically roll to a side, but if I do...yikes. Best of luck with college!

@Eliriel Hey there! It's awesome you were keeping a dream log before. Hopefully recall will come even quicker, since you've got practice already. Also, best of luck with compsci! I can say it's a great field and I don't regret going into it the slightest. Have you got anything in mind for specialization? Frontend, backend, firmware, security...it's such a fun area to work in.

@FrogTea Man, my dumb butt was sitting here like "oh yeah I guess folks have favorite ships...I mean, I'm fond of the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry..." SO ANYWAYS. I am curious though (you don't have to share, of course!). Also, welcome to the "folks who dream about water" crew! There's a fair few of us in the thread, looks like.

@DoggoNoWanno Welcome to the thread! I've heard before from folks who've started taking something for sleep that ended up changing their dreams entirely. Normally something like melatonin, though. Is it anything I might've heard of...and any chance you might share some pet pics? I love pythons! <3 Also, welcome to team "dreams about water"!

i am not a writer, i am not an artist, and i'm not a DM, i am however, an idea-man, i tend to come up with interesting ideas and concepts and send them to those who may be able to flesh them out better.

Good morning, Dreamers!

Sorry for no ping yesterday, Christmas got unexpectedly hectic (in a good way). I hope you had a very merry one! <3

To make up for it/spread the RNG love (Sandswept Delta is GREAT), I'll roll a 1d5 each time someone posts a dream (or a "no recall" message), and if I get a 5, I'll send you a strange chest :D

@Oranitha I think the furbies are because I collect them, and I take weekly trips to antique and thrift stores to hunt for them, so I often dream of finding and buying them haha, it's really weird! And for the fictional characters, I think it more depends on how much I like the character, and how much I like the book or movie they come from. For example, one of my biggest hyperfixations at the moment is a broadway musical called The Book of Mormon, so sometimes my favorite characters Kevin Price or Connor Mckinley might pop up in my dreams, and sometimes I'll even be that character in a dream that takes place in their story haha! It's really fun though, I love when it happens

@Oranitha

oh I didn't know you could just say ''no recall'' if you can't recall your dreams :')
I usually only remember sleep paralysis episodes or bad nightmares but other than that I usually never remember them

From what I remember, I was back at my old elementary school, albeit as an adult. Like most other indoors dreams, this one came with a mission. I was here to vaguely "help" a young (8-10) girl and warned that there were folks who wanted to hurt her--in the opening minutes, I'd stormed into the old therapist's office and let absolutely loose on some people who'd left this girl there in the care of someone who was a threat to her. By my best guess, my sleeping self got so angry that I half-lucidly borked the dream shortly thereafter. Notes: It's weird that the mission dreams are so common lately--the one I neglected to record yesterday wasn't one, at least.

hehe finally a place where i can vent my dreams :p I dream almost every single night but my family hates hearing about them XD

Trigger Warnings: none (i think)
Discuss this dream?: would be fun :p
Have this dream interpreted?: go for it :3

I had this dream that i know i have had before. I am on my bike cycling in the city (i live aprox 15 km from the city) i kinda know where i am going but end up getting lost anyways. I have to cross a lot of streets to get back to where i was and get honked by a lot of cars. I end up in front of a petshop where there is a streetlamp outside. On the streetlamp is a golden snake armband. I look at it for a while, but then I'm interupted. A man walks outside the petshop with a huuuge yellow snake.

the end XD

@Knoxxi Absolutely! Normally I'd only write "no recall" in my dream diary, but on a meta level, I appreciate other folks posting "no recall" to the thread, since it tells me about how many people are participating :D

Writing "no recall" is important, though, since the idea of writing dreams down is to make a habit of remembering them. So if you don't remember one, you need to call your attention to the fact and also still perform the mechanical action of writing something.
