No dreams this time, though it's pretty normal for me to have a dream then go several days without one. So I'm not really shocked.

Trigger Warnings: Violent death of an animal
Dreaming Techniques: Rallying, Early Wake
I spent a good portion of my night dreamless, and was about to have a no recall day, but once again I got woken up a couple of hours before I intended to wake up (this time by hungry cats and a butt-dialing grandfather) and in the short sleep I had after I actually had dreams I could remember! They were... very odd.
I remember being in a dimly lit diner/coffee shop of some kind, situated next to an airport. The place was very busy, I was sitting at a table with a group of four or five friends and there were booths all around us that were also packed. Three of four nearby walls had big windows, and it was daytime outside so we were all watching the planes come and go. I was sipping on a cup of coffee and turning to say something to my friend group when a patron of the diner gasped quite audibly, pointed something out outside, and there was suddenly a bustle of activity as people pressed themselves up against the window immediately in my view and began to chatter.
Outside, flying around in the blue sky was a giant bald eagle. Everyone was excited to watch him, phones came out to record the creature that had apparently strayed far from the river. The eagle appeared to be hunting something, making swoops toward the ground and then backing off from his quarry as it evaded him. Something quick and land based, probably a rabbit although I couldn't see what he was actually hunting. He kept flying closer and closer to the building we were in, until he came so close that we all collectively agreed he was going to hit a window or something. He nearly hit the window in front of us, but pulled up at the last moment, and I just knew there was another floor above us.... after a long pause, there was a dull clunk and the entire collected party winced in unison, expecting a body to come falling to the ground. But it didn't. Instead, a few seconds later, a plane went flying overhead, leaving a scattering of feathers behind it. He had escaped the death we had expected, but not death.
---
An entirely different sort of dream, this time I was lying in a sleeping bag along some kind of canal that was covered by an overhang. A large-ish group of folks and myself must have all been camping there, and I remember getting woke up by a noise and looking up to see a few friends of mine who I hadn't seen in a long time. I don't remember how we got back to a house of theirs, but I do remember sitting in a basement room with one person who vaguely reminded me of an ex of mine. We just kinda sat there and cuddled and talked with each other about what has been happening these past few years and what interests we had now. We ended up writing each other lists of shows we now watched, music we listened to and games we played. None of the titles I recognized as anything real, but I specifically remember suggesting an anime of some kind.
Notes: I feel this dream was reaching for material, half this stuff I haven't encountered in days to years, and the rest was only vaguely mentioned yesterday.

This dream was like I was watching one of those Nat Geo documentries where they ride a helicopter and pan over the landscape below. I basically saw hundreds of metallic green and pink ice-cream cones upside-down with ice-cream scoops as their base all neatly arranged in rows. I watched them for over a minute.
Notes: I had a pretty satisfying day.

@Starry413 Holy crap, that's huge! What an amazingly coherent, creepy dream for your first...I'm so glad you got a full dream after years, and here's to many more (and less creepy ones at that)
IMO, it's not anything to worry about that this first one was super creepy. It's just kind of a quirk of the brain. We're MUCH better at remembering freaky stuff than easygoing stuff, and this is far from the first time (even just on this thread) it's come up.
You know how there's that trope where someone gets put in an intense situation and it awakens their powers or whatever? Nightmares can be like that. Now that you've broken that barrier, recall comes easier (which includes the relaxing dreams that are otherwise easily forgotten)
@Starstream I'm biased when it comes to interpreting nightmares, but I think the message underlying yours is fairly clear. The core of it is an upsetting, violent situation outside your control, but how you responded is very telling. The actions you took were all about taking responsibility and guarding those you care for. It was an extreme situation conjured up by your mind; if I was pressed to take a guess, I'd say "fear of loss" and "something outside your control", but even your dreaming self was taking charge. Sorry it had to be something so upsetting, though :(
