Collection: I have a LOT of stuff! For skulls: mink, bobcat, red fox, whitetail deer (male/female), river otter, snowshoe hare, beaver, opossum, raccoon, armadillo, cottontail, horse, cow, ram, sheep, coyote, impala, black bear, mako shark, wild boar, warthog, Canada goose, replica heron, and replica snowy owl skull.
Pelts: buffalo cape, caribou cape, life size bobcat/cottontail/fox (red and marble)/coyotes/porcupine, deer hides, moose, sika deer, fallow deer, kudu, Cape buffalo, black bear, eland, elk, probably more but they're more of scraps than hides. I also have a blind boar and two pheasants (mounted for my college thesis), a rooster, a skunk, and a raccoon mounted.
Misc: black bear claws, monal pheasant feathers, Canada goose wings/tail/feet, wild turkey feathers/feet, elk antlers, moose shed, bunch of African skulls without horns (from work), and timber rattler skins.
Skills: I work professionally as a taxidermist so everything skinning, prepping, and mounting is my most honed skill. I also dabble in tanning, casting/jewelry making, and crystallizing skulls. My boyfriend is a wildlife biologist too, so if you ever have questions involving science/regulations/hunting he'll probably know!
Dream piece(s): Monal pheasant!
Do you mind being pinged?: Nope!

packrat Haha thank you! Most of the stuff I have is just stuff I horde from work. I think my favorite animal I've worked on is a three way tie between a really nice fallow deer in velvet, a kudu, or an Osprey (done for a college so they had the permits). It's really hard to choose! They're all such different experiences, it's cool being able to see them all up close.

Found a very helpful video about pinning Butterflies/Moths~
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fO1u-wIaoO8
I want to try to raise butterflies. That way they live out their natural life spans, and I can get practice with pinning them -and maybe sell a few if they are good enough~-. And being cruelty free I'm sure a lot more people would be chill with it.

How does one do something like a bird? My dad had this SUPER old book from when he was young talking about just making an incision, cleaning and "drying" the bird, then stuffing it full of like cotton balls?? I'm sure that isn't proper, but back then I was willing to try it.
Also, have you done any small animals? Because those little suckers looks like they'd be hard to pull off :o
I follow someone who specializes in small animal taxidermy, like mice/rats/hamsters/rabbits...

OMG thank you so much, watched and bookmarked it. I even feel it wouldn't be too hard to replicate the little rig they had. Pinning bugs seems do-able now lol
I think that's awesome! It'll be such a fun hobby to watch them grow and whatnot, and a perfectly humane way to secure a fairly steady flow of bugs. And I guess if you have enough you can play around with resin and stuff too!

So, I'm trying my hand at a second wet persevere. Obviously I know formalin is the standard, but since I don't have that I'm just using some more ethyl alcohol, nobody use me as an example of how to properly do this lol
I was at the beach yesterday and I was looking at a shell and low and behold, right above it was a tiny little fish! Like, just under an inch long. He's in a little jar right now which admittedly is probably too big, when he's fixed I'll have to find a proper jar. If you wanna see it, shoot me a PM!

When I die I want to be taxidermied and put in my house's window so I can freak out people and be the source of numerous urban legends
