I'm trying to decide on a hair cut. My husband wants me to get bangs, but that's pretty much the only thing I've decided to do. I have long brown hair and either I'm going to look like zooey deschanel or velma.
It happens every time I cut my hair
I've thought about cutting it myself but I get the feeling it would look horrible
I've also thought about shaving the sides off but I work in retail :<
so how do you like to cut your hair?

so how do you like to cut your hair?
1) get tired of having hair past the neck/shoulders
2) cut the excess off on my own due to not being bothered to go to a hairdresser's
3) have my mom lowkey whine about my hairline being a bit wonky
4) she evens out the wonkness
5) rinse and repeat, probably
...i've also had a pixie-ish haircut, but Nope, Does Not Complement Well
currently my hair's to kinda half my neck still but i wanna crop it a little or do smth new mmMM
and i also have bangs, i look good with them
and i also haven't washed my hair in a shamefully long time so i guess i gotta do that first

I try to keep my hair pretty long because it's curly and it would look really big if it was short. Unfortunately, I had to chop off quite a bit last time, about a month ago, because the ends were really damaged. It's kinda weird, I don't understand why it was so bad, I never use hot tools and I've only color-treated once in the past year.

Happiness can be found,
even in the darkest of times,
if one only remembers to turn on the light.

Mine generally stays just below the shoulders with my side bangs. Lately a couple of my friends think it would look good shorter and a few others are saying no so I've been debating this topic a bit myself. I have been wanting to donate it too lately so if its long enough to not go insanely short if and when I do, mine will probably end up shorter.

Do you live in a hot climate? Did you ever oil treat your hair? The ends can get dried out naturally depending on how you treat your hair vs the climate. If you do live in a warmer climate try to use some coconut oil spray once a month in your hair (you should find natural ones either in a pharmacy or hairdressers) for one day, then rinse it out the next. Try doing it on a day when you won't be going outside because it will obviously, be super oily. I know a few people who only do it for a few hours too but idk I like keeping mine in for a day. Also if you notice a lot of damage despite doing things like this try to use natural shampoo, organic and vegan ones. Sometimes it's the chemicals in the shampoo you use that can damage your hair.
Anyways- I have about shoulder length hair with shaved sides. Though thanks to getting closer to the position I want at work I'm letting the sides grow in, which sucks. Also my hair is always tied back tight in a bun because it's a military environment. Although when I'm at home or shopping I get told it looks like that one girl from overwatch. I don't remember the name...

**I wanted to add in that bangs you HAVE TO GET CUT BY SOMEONE ELSE. Don't do bangs yourself unless you have hairstyle tools to help you. You may
think you're cutting a straight line but trust me, you aren't.

oh I love fauxhawks
and hawks actually
I once did my hair up into a makeshift fauxhawk. My hair was about chin length but my friend got it all up with hair ties and hair spray lol

My bangs are to my nose now, so if the wind picks up in the right(or wrong?) direction I'm blinded by hair... And it is a little over neck length now, but anxiety makes a trip to the local hairdresser place nearly impossible.

omg it took me hours to work myself up to going to get my hair cut. The only reason I didn't do it myself was because I wanted to get bangs. I really did not want to be touched by people, it was really hard to get rid of enough anxiousness to go.
I was lucky and had a really calm and quick hair stylist

I told my mom like three days in advanced that I wanted it done while my pup was having his spa day, then when we dropped him off I copped out of it by saying. "Don't worry, we can go another time...", I've not gone yet though because I just can't work myself up to it.
