OKAPIS. Who doesn't love okapis? ;w ;
They're also called "forest giraffes" and I believe they are endangered due to deforestation and poaching. They are also from Central Africa..if I remember correctly.. x:

They are fantastic, and I like that their name means "earth pig".

@Kell I'm going to be honest, mantas freak me out. As a kid I saw this clip of a manta doing backflips in some area of the ocean too deep and black for anything to be visible without high powered flashlights and it was horrifying. It wasn't even supposed to be scary either, the narrator was talking about how graceful they are and the way they practically fly through the water. For reference, I saw Jaws around the same time and yet never developed any dislike for sharks.
I suppose my favorite unusual animal is the mantis shrimp. You've gotta respect a 10 cm animal that can punch you so hard you get hit twice. They can also be quite colorful.

Armadillos and pangolins :), so little armoured guys and living pinecones. I find flatfish quite funny (e.g. flounder, sole, turbot). Not necessarily favourites, but definitely unusual. Some nudibranches are very pretty too. And riflebirds (birds of paradise), love their dances and colours!
Oh and echidnas and platypus, who could forget them? Actually, I have a hard time picking a favourite :o

@Wolfgirl44 Goats are awesome. Everything about them is just hilarious. My recent trip to Uganda has grown my love for them, as literally everyone is walking their goats out there. Who needs a dog if you can walk your goat?
That said, having been in Uganda I'm now also obsessed with monitor lizards, hornbills and above all African elephants. They're just so incredibly impressive. We were only a few meters away from this wild elephant bull.
