- Why no pinglist?
Most efficient pinglists run using offsite programs like Google Docs. My computer hates cooperating with such things. If we're careful to keep this thread to notifications for new stuff only, subscription alerts should function just fine.

- How should posts be formatted?
- For Site Status:
I would suggest copying over the text, putting it in quote tags, then using additional tags to mirror any bolding or links in the original post. However, just text is fine. (Example)
- For Latest News posts:
You can use the banner image in the announcement and then make it a link to the thread. (Example)
Both of these are only suggestions - the important thing is that users know there's something new on the front page. If they need more info at that point, it's easy to go check it out.
Again, if it takes you a couple of minutes to format your post, please copy it to your clipboard and refresh the last page first to make sure no one else has posted in the meantime.
