You take a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air that was mixed with the sweet scent of the flowers in bloom. [/columns]"Relax, their territory doesn't reach to this side of the field, they won't bother you." A soft voice from above reassures you. You twirl around so quickly that you lose your footing, and land on the ground with a hard thud. Looking up, you see the outline of a dragon resting on the shaded branch that you had just been sitting under. You can tell that she's different shades of green, which helps her blend into the the canopy... wait, were those branches growing out of her back? For a moment you can't help but wonder, was this the Gladekeeper? The dragon chuckles before getting to her feet. Effortlessly she hops off the branch and lands before you. "I'm not the dragon you're thinking of. My Name is Natura. I am a Gladeling, and guardian of the Nature Conservatory." You look at her quizzically. What was the Nature Conservatory? And what was a Gladeling? The dragon smiles at you, "This is where all information on the subspecies of Nature Flight is stored. There is a lot of diversity in the Nature Flight subspecies, even within a single subspecies. We are constantly discovering new subspecies, and even learning new things about ones that had already been discovered." Natura informs you, as if she knew what you were thinking. "How about a tour? All BK's are born with an instinctual pull towards a specific species of plant, which closely match their coloration and appearance - their magic abilities are often influenced by the magical and chemical properties of the plant in question, and a dragon who hasn't found it by adolescence grow restless and prone to wanderlust, typically journeying the Viridian Labyrinth, and even the world, in search for that one plant who's presence completes and soothes them. Oftentimes, a Bearkeeper decorates their MOST GLORIOUS BEARDS with branches, leaves and flowers of their Keeper's Plant, so that their GLORIOUS BEARDS may be EVEN MORE GLORIOUS BEARDS. Although all Beardkeepers possess MOST GLORIOUS BEARDS, it is only by having a REALLY REALLY GLORIOUS BEARD that one may efficiently climb the ladder of power and influence within Beardkeeper society. It is believed that REALLY REALLY GLORIOUS BEARDS is a sign of the Gladekeepers favor, and that a dragon who possess such a GLORIOUS BEARD have been thus rewarded for righteous actions, or a strong faith in the UNQUESTIONABLE GLORY of BEARDS. Their beautiful wings shine in the sun and cast beams of coloured light down on the earth beneath them. Their wings are quite delicate and will tear if exposed to the harsh winds of the Twisting Crescendo. However, despite their fragility, their wings allow them to maneuver the soft breezes of the Steppes expertly while they tend to the flowers that grow there. Dancing Petals are truly a dazzling sight as they glide across the skies. Dancing Petals have a natural aptitude for flower and plant growth, and tend to their fields with the utmost care. It is said that simply placing a withering plant in the presence of one of their gardens will revitalize it and promote healthy growth. This makes having a Dancing Petal friend very useful for gardeners and farmers. Some will even build empty homes in their fields, marked with sweet-smelling flowers, hoping that a Dancing Petal will drift by and decide to occupy it. Due to this, Dancing Petals are becoming a very common sight in areas inhabited by Nature dragons, such as the Viridian Labyrinth. As they live primarily in the forest canopy their preferred diet consists of insects, birds, monkeys and small manticores. Occasionally they have been seen feeding on Insectus Plagas, small faelike insects hailing from the Scarred Wasteland. As such, fae should beware when foraging in territory known to contain wild populations of Dendrolepis. No longer capable of true powered flight, these creatures glide from tree to tree where the gap is too wide to cross via branches. Outside of their native region, this subspecies does well in Shadow and forested Light and Arcane territories, though they have been seen on rocky canyon/cliff faces in Lightning, Earth and Wind. Rarely, anecdotal evidence surfaces of spiral Dendro living underground in Plague and in underwater caves in Water territory. Spiral based dendrolepis are very poorly adapted to cold climates, making them unable to withstand the cold of Ice territory. Current research also indicates this sub-species cannot live in Fire territory, the land lacking significant vegetation or stable cave systems/cliffs. This subspecies come in a wide variety of colours but their markings largely remain the same, though iridescent Dendrolepis are rarely seen. It is important to note that while most Dendrolepis usually have only mild poison, the obsidian variations have poison potent enough to kill a large imperial. Seeing as they have really small fangs however, that’s not a problem for any dragons with a sufficiently thick covering of hide, fur or scales. The more vivid and contrasting the belly/tert, the stronger the venom. [*]Additional Notes: Dendrolepis are generally XXY or XXX in colour. Basilisk’s preferred diet is meat based, so most larger animals are on the menu, including beastclan. Large Basilisk have even been seen successfully preying on wartoads, yeti, mantarune, goldenbeasts and even the odd juvenile roc. Basilisk prefer to live in less storied territory, caves and dense undergrowth suiting their needs. As such, Basilisk are more common in Light, Shadow, Nature, Water, Arcane and Lightning. Earth based Basilisk are not so common, often subject to Beastclan attacks due to their solitary and highly predatory nature. Wind territory is too fragmented and multilayered for Basilisk to live comfortably, while more surprisingly Basilisk fare well in the evergreen forests of Ice. Basilisk find it difficult living in more populated territories, coming into regular conflict with those around them. This is especially so in the Shadowlands, where ancient Basilisk are (thankfully) rare and young Basilisk are in constant competition for territory with dragon clans. Recently, young Dendrolepis of both types have been emerging from forest and cave to establish loose social connections with standard dragon clans. Dendrolepis are also cropping up in nests of otherwise normal dragon pairs, leaving dragon geneticists to speculate just how old this subspecies is. Dancing Petals are a subspecies of butterfly-winged dragons who are perfectly adapted to the peaceful and relaxed winds of the Zephyr Steppes.

There have been rumours of Dancing Petals effecting butterflies from the fields and forests they inhabit, causing the butterflies to grow in size and become dragons. These stories, in turn, have led to the thought that Dancing Petals were once butterflies, as well.

Example: a Raspberry would probably be Raspberry/Leaf/Raspberry while a Peach would be Peach/Leaf/Brown for the pit or Peach/Leaf/Peach for the flesh. Either would be acceptable.) You cannot find this island on any map and many question its presence as it can only be seen on the night of a lunar event. The mysterious invisibility is not the only magical quality about this island, though. Set behind a moat of forest exists a garden. Within this garden, the Gladekeeper and Shadow binder tend to the most incredible fruit to ever exist: pumpkins. These are not just any pumpkins, though. These pumpkins are grown with a sole purpose: the protection of Shadowlings and Seedlings. Gladekeeper tends to the young fruit, helping it to quickly grow strong and sturdy. Once reaching its peak of ripeness, Shadowbinder harvests the fruit by carving a face into the front of it. Once the face has been carved, she inserts a special trinket, a leaf from Gladekeeper coated in the shadows that ooze forth from Shadowbinder herself, into the center of the jack-o-lantern. As they are immersed in a revitalizing spring, a miraculous change takes place. This once mundane fruit emerges from the spring in the form of a dragon. These dragons are immediately sent to lairs all around Sornieth, carefully instructed on where to find their dragon. Once found, they will protect this dragon at all costs. They are the undying servant to this dragon, guarding them against any onslaught or attack. [*]Additional Notes: This subspecies is known for its ties to both Shadow and Nature flights. Shadow due to its trickster nature (no pun intended) and Nature due to the fact that they are inspired by a fruit. There are four variants besides the general variant, they are On the Vine, Freshly Carved, Doused, and Novembers. During their journey, small groups continually stayed behind in each region they visited, hoping to make a home there and discover different types of elemental magic. One group made it all the way across Sornieth. These Fae came to the border of the Viridian Labyrinth, ruled over by the Gladekeeper and the elemental magic of Nature. They became enthralled with the abundant trees and wildlife. There were so many different types of plants and animals, and insects! Gradually, they spread out across the Everbloom Gardens and into the Gladeveins. These faes made their homes from sap as their ancestors did, in the trees between the lakes and rivers of this region. They spent their days catching the bountiful insects that thrived in the wet environment near the water. And they learned to tend the plants, using their stores of magic to direct their growth and nurture them. Those whose eggs were hatched there had the advantage of being able to draw elemental magic from their surroundings. They shaped homes from living vines and branches, and were better able to influence the wildlife around them. Over time, their appearance came to reflect their surroundings. They developed patterns on their bodies that mimicked the water that flowed through their lands, and patterns on their wings that reflected the leaves of the plants they nurtured. Some used this to aid them in catching food. If they floated on the water, still as they could be, their wings resembled lily pads. The insects they ate would land on their wings like they did the water-dwelling plants that surrounded them, making them far easier to catch. This was the beginning of the Lily Pad Faes. Today, they can be found throughout the Viridian Labyrinth, and some have even ventured back out into other regions of Sornieth, where different types of lakes and ponds have created variations in this subspecies. Some have developed patterns mimicking different types of algae floating in the water and clinging to their wings. Some have developed patterns more resembling the rampant pond scum sometimes found in stagnant water. And still others have patterns resembling small pools or droplets of water on their wings. Wherever they live, you can be sure to find these dragons floating in the waters near their homes, completely camouflaged to the well-trained eye. Lily Pad Faes hatched in the Viridian Labyrinth have a great talent for guiding and nurturing the growth of the plants and animals around them by drawing in the elemental energy that permeates their home territory, and they often make powerful healers. Those who hatch outside the Viridian Labyrinth have their own talents respective to their flights. But most still retain some affinity for nature and healing, a reminder of their kind's beginnings. [*]Additional Notes: This subspecies makes their home in the lakes of the Gladeveins. The wings of the Fae must resemble lily pads and the primary gene and color must mimic the color and movement of water. There are a couple of other variants of this species as well that have tertiary genes adding to the illusion and further disguising the Fae. Insect hunters were originally-a small clan of nature faes that used their colors to attract insects to eat in The Viridian Labyrinth. A group of faes from The Scarred Wasteland found them and began to breed with them. Through this they brought their philosophy, and a second class of Venus Fly Traps was created- The Warriors. These Faes are raised in the Wandering Contagion to toughen them up before they come over to the Shrieking Wilds. Here they are easily able to disguise themselves amongst the vines and leaves to attack beastclans, other dragon clans, or to steal food and gold. Insect Hunters are generally very small- they have to be small and fast to catch insects. While Warriors are bigger and often neglect the magic they are inborn with in favor of surprise melee attacks with their claws. Over time and over the generations their colors started to match their environment to mimic those of a flowerbed. For some it is camouflage, while for others it just shows how close their hearts are to their gardens. Peaceful loving to the most violent, all that matters is that they care for their gardens almost as if it were them themselves. Some even believe that many of these dragons were born directly from well loved gardens gifted to their caretakers. [*]Additional Notes: The Flowerbed Subspecies is so broad that it could easily have its own subspecies of snowy, garden bed, flower bushes, or even flower bed ruins. The Primary color is always that of a bush of greenery, the soil, or the rocky cracked soil of ruins where flowers can grow. Essentially the base from where the flowers come from, sure it could be reds for flower pots but then it wouldn't really be a flower bed so much. Secondary colors are the most varied, being practically almost any color under the sun to mimic what colors flowers actually are or bred to become. This is where some subspecies of Flowerbed that can come from like Rose, Lavender, Snapdragon, or any really. The Tertiary colors however are a bit unique, in the way that depends on the Gene used. Some genes show up as flowers, while others just enhance the bed. So depending on which gene depends on which color it can be. Whereas the breed can be any Dragon out there, however the smaller a dragon is the more they can blend into their garden. Coatls however seem to be best in this subspecies because of their body shape, they look like small legged mobile bushes with lots of wing flowers on top. The Viridian Labyrinth was a dangerous place to live long before the dragons arrived. Beasts of all shapes and sizes roamed the forests; the Gladeveins were a swamp teeming with river monsters, with no finely constructed aqueducts to direct the water any which way. The first dragons to live in the Labyrinth had to adapt fast. In the Shrieking Wilds, they took to the treetops; in the Everbloom Gardens, they took on all sorts of colours, blending into the vivid kaleidoscope of flowers. And in the Gladeveins, survival rested on one thing: disappearance. Rippling blue-greens let them vanish beneath the water; wings as bright as the flowers that grew on shore let them blend into the brush. With time, the River Hibiscus dragons became just as deadly as the beasts that used to hunt them. They could melt into the water without the slightest ripple, or creep through the vibrant vegetation in total silence. In modern times, tribes of these dragons exist deep in the Gladeveins, though sightings of them are rare. There is some debate over whether they live on the riverbanks – beside the flowers for which they are named – or deep in the waters themselves. These dragons tend to avoid hunting land prey, instead focusing their diets on fish, plants and insects. When necessary, they can move through the water without making a sound. Dragons travelling through the Gladeveins are advised not to panic if they see something watching them from the water. [*]Additional Notes: Some of these dragons settled deeper into the Labyrinth, in the darker parts of the Gladeveins that border the Shrieking Wilds. Instead of the bright colours of the hibiscus flowers, they developed darker, blue and green scales, to let them blend into the shaded realm where they live. Friendship roses are primarily bred in the Everbloom gardens, but can also be nurtured in Light territory Rare roses can only be bred in the dark of the Shrieking Wilds or the shade of the Behemoth - so they can also be found in Shadow territory (all ranges), Arcane hollows (black/purple ranges), or again very seldomly out of Plague (black-range only) [*]Lore: The scales/fur of Rose dragons feels especially silky, even as their bodies are adorned with sharp, hard thorns. Typically, Rose dragons are prickly and proud, easily offended until they warm up to you. Once they open up, they become steadfast and protective friends. They're very loyal, and bond with their mate(s) and friends for life. Most are extroverts and can display great skill for negotiations, flattery, or putting other dragons at ease. It is recommended that if Roses are to be moved to clans outside the one of their birth or where they thrive best (of the ones above), that it is done so at an early age. Roses forced into moving after bonding with clanmates will often wither away or become depressed. [*]Additional Notes: There are three "Classes" of Rose dragons, based on color. They tend to stick to their own Class (among other Roses) and display a deference to hierarchy when interacting cross-Class : Classic (rust-white) are the most plentiful and widely-recognized. They have a further distinction among them - "Pures," those with Red, Rose, or White "petals." These are considered the elites and have the highest social standing (and tendency towards "snobbery"). Some of them may be leaders, others reclusive and insular, associating only with other Pures and sometimes Rares (or non-Roses of high social standing). Rare (midnight to splash EXCEPT THISTLE) Roses are considered just below Elites, and are similarly more likely to be reclusive and insular. They will seldom associate with non-Rares (though they are less picky about non-Roses than Elites). Many consider themselves equal to the Pures, which can lead to tension or passive-aggressiveness (rarely is there outright fighting among Roses). Friendship (Banana to Tangerine) Roses are also fairly plentiful and while they typically give deference to Pures and Rares, they will interact freely with Classics and non-Roses. They are the most cheerful, outgoing, and "hyper," both in personality and physically. Some may judge them to be flighty and over-trusting, but never underestimate them; their minds are still as sharp as their thorns. Thistles are not considered Roses, even if they are born of a Rose (Rare) pair. Rather than silky, their scales or fur has a more feathery texture. It is not uncommon for Thistles to be abandoned or left to other clans/dragons to raise, as many Rares (and Elites) consider them a mark of shame on the parents (or bad luck). This is less likely in Shadow or Plague clans. Thistles tend to band together, and frequently range to territories where Roses are not as commonly found, especially the Shifting Expanse and Windswept Plateau. They settled in the Everbloom Gardens, where they found the widest variety of flora. As they studied however, they noticed that this was where new dragons tended to gather, and slowly became more and more protective over them over time. One day, a clan of Earth Dragons began to move into the territory, looking to create more monuments in stone. The Sunflowers defended the dragons and stopped the expansion, making peace with the Earth dragons. Now these clans and even some of the new nature dragons have breed together, each serving as protectors of the Everbloom Gardens. As they protect the new ones, they teach them the stories of old, and make sure history and scientific discoveries are forever remembered through the generations. They are know to store water in their bellies, beginning with the first river water where they are born. As they grow and get older they can store more and more water and the water that flows trough them is know to have magical and healing properties. Stream Bringer Stream Bringer are a special form of FaR dragons, they are born and raised next to a wellspring. The water they carry is pure and is used in ceremonies, for example to purge evil ghosts. They are rare and if you see one it is said that you will have 7 years of luck. Riverbed Riverbeds are another special form of FaR dragons. They are born where the rivers enter the sea, the water that they carry is always a little to salty and most dragons don't like it, but it is said that, when you drink the water of Riverbed FaR dragons for one year, each day, that at the last day your soulmate will appear. Deepforest This subdivision of FaR dragon is born in the deepest part of the forest and most often is said to have clairvoyant abilities. Decaying Woods These FaR dragons are born in a sick/burned down or death forest and it is said that they will bring misfortune to clans where they stay. First Rain These FaR dragons are born when it rains, most often their water is perfect for gardening and they are welcomed in all clans. But they are the most roaming dragons of all the FaR dragons and won't stay forever in one clan. [*]Additional Notes: There are subdivision and special forms of this subspecies that include Standard, Stream Bringer, Riverbed, Deepforest, Decaying Woods, and First Rain. Through spores they spread, popping up from damp, shadowed clumps of soil, often in caves or amongst dense foliage. They manage the environment of the Shrieking Wilds by helping break down the dead organic material around them to be recycled. Due to this, they primarily feed off of decomposing plants and insects, but some dragons also claim to have witnessed them feeding off of deceased animals. When Fungus Fae are exposed to direct sunlight they begin to decompose, so they tend to live together in clumps in the darkest regions of the Shrieking Wilds. This also means they are weak fliers, as traveling is usually not in their best interests. It would be unusual for another dragon to communicate with a Fungus Fae, as they are almost considered the lower-caste within the jungle and are very reserved as a whole. They generally live a quiet and slow-paced lifestyle. [*]Lore: Forest Spirits are a bit of a mystery to any dragon who has come across one. They are a quiet kind of dragon, one that usually stays hidden unless attracted or lured out, whether it be intentional or not. These dragons are born of the Gladekeeper Herself. No dragon knows why She sends them, or even if it's true that they are Her creation, but that is how the story always goes. They have small magical abilities, varying in magnitude of power. Some Forest Spirit dragons leave behind glowing, mossy footsteps while some can do as much as grant a single wish periodically. All Forest Spirits enjoy shiny things. The twinkle of a precious gem or even just a shiny bit of treasure may catch their eyes. A Forest Spirit will always avoid contact with other dragons until something of interest lures them out. Dragons who intend to attract a Forest Spirit can purposefully leave out "offerings" in hopes of someday meeting one. Dragons must be careful, however, of not attracting the wrong kind of attention. There are two different kinds of Forest Spirit, one being more friendly than the other. The legend goes that if a dragon finds or attracts a Forest Spirit of green color (lawful), then all should be well. These dragons will offer their protection and services to a clan should they feel well inclined and are usually a blessing upon a clan. However, should the Forest Spirit be of dark red or purple (chaotic), ill will may fall upon the dragon's clan who disturbs them. These Forest Spirits are spiteful and tricky. They will often pull pranks, some harmful and some not. A dragon or clan with the attention of these more mischievous Forest Spirits might find that some of their food goes missing or a treasure or two is stolen from their pockets. Despite being inconvenient at times, chaotic Forest Spirits will still offer protection. They become possessive over their new territory and adopt an attitude of being the only "harm" that is allowed to come to their clan. Forest Spirits who are born of the Gladekeeper are almost always female. Males born of the Gladekeeper are very rare. A male born of mixed dragon parents (one Forest Spirit and one normal) are much more common. [*]Additional Notes: XXY or XXX dragons are considered "pure-blood" Forest Spirits. These are the dragons of the subspecies that are born of the Gladekeeper. If an XXY/XXX dragon is born from mixed dragon parents, tales tell that they are considered to have been touched by the Gladekeeper's magic. Forest Spirits with any other color pattern are known as "half-blood" Forest Spirits. They may still have some magical ability similar to pure-blood Forest Spirits, but they aren't as powerful or as gifted. The Cactus Dragon species is a diverse one with many different variations. They come from the dryer areas of the Viridian Labyrinth, and can withstand even the harshest dry spells. They drink copious amounts of water about every nine months, and then store it in their bellies and tails. Cactus Dragons also have very tough skin that can take a whole lot of wear-and-tear, which, along with their spikes, protects the soft, water-filled tissue below.
• Additional Notes:
There are several different variants of the cactus subspecies; the general variant, the balloon cactus variant, and the saguaro variants. The if the secondary color for the general variant is maize, it represents the spines, and if the tertiary color and genes are Rust-Rose gembond it represents blossoms. For the Balloon cactus variant, the secondary colors are supposed to represent blossoms. For the Saguaro Cactus they may only have gembond if their tertiary is maize-white and spine/crackle if their tertiary is seafoam-sand.

At the base of the great Behemoth lies a beautiful garden. Tended to by the Gladekeeper herself Dragons and plants bloom side by side. Sometimes an egg is laid right in the midst of a patch of watermelon, strawberries, carrots, or at the bottom of berry bushes and fruit trees. When these special dragon eggs hatch, the dragons take on the characteristics of the plant that nurtured them while they developed in their egg

These dragons tend to be sweet in nature like their fruit counterpart and mild in temperament. They are natural gardeners and caretakers.
• Additional Notes:
There are two variations, Imitations and XXX Fruit Dragons.

For the Imitation variation the primary color and gene represents the skin or outside of the fruit, the secondary color and gene represents the leaf, and the tertiary color and gene represents the seed, flesh, or stem. For the tertiary, acceptable colors as reflected by the stem, seed, or flesh of the fruit. (Since the diversity of fruits is almost unlimited the tertiary color is up to the best interpretation of the breeder. Remember to try and make it as accurate as possible! Example: a Raspberry would probably be Raspberry/Leaf/Raspberry while a Peach would be Peach/Leaf/Brown for the pit or Peach/Leaf/Peach for the flesh. Either would be acceptable.)

For an XXX Fruit Dragon all three colors MUST BE THE SAME. The colors also NEED to be a fruit or vegetable color (like carrot or Pear).

Between the Tangled Woods and the Viridian Labyrinth lies a small island. You cannot find this island on any map and many question its presence as it can only be seen on the night of a lunar event.
• Additional Notes:
This subspecies is known for its ties to both Shadow and Nature flights. Shadow due to its trickster nature (no pun intended) and Nature due to the fact that they are inspired by a fruit. There are four variants besides the general variant, they are On the Vine, Freshly Carved, Doused, and Novembers.

• Lore:
Though the Fae species originated in the Starwood Strand, an expedition of them ventured East to explore other lands.

• Additional Notes:
This subspecies makes their home in the lakes of the Gladeveins. The wings of the Fae must resemble lily pads and the primary gene and color must mimic the color and movement of water. There are a couple of other variants of this species as well that have tertiary genes adding to the illusion and further disguising the Fae.

• Lore:
Some Nocturnes excel at mimicking personalities, others at voices. Some are gifted in visual mimicry, and they gave way to the Nocturmelons. But, why a melon? With so many herbivorous dragons inhabiting Sornieth, being mistaken for a tasty snack would seem disadvantageous. When pressed about their mimicry choices, Nocturmelons all seem to give the same answer, despite differing origins and no interaction between them: "Eh, it seemed like a good idea at the time."

• Lore:
Venus flytraps come in two groups.

• Acceptable Eye Colors: All except Plague, Arcane, Shadow, and Fire
• Lore: Many dragons have felt the call towards nature, to partake in gardening or of a love of flowers.
• Additional Notes: The Flowerbed Subspecies is so broad that it could easily have its own subspecies of snowy, garden bed, flower bushes, or even flower bed ruins.

• Lore: In the early days of the new age, as the deities spread across Sornieth, the Gladekeeper built her paradise.
• Additional Notes: Some of these dragons settled deeper into the Labyrinth, in the darker parts of the Gladeveins that border the Shrieking Wilds. Instead of the bright colours of the hibiscus flowers, they developed darker, blue and green scales, to let them blend into the shaded realm where they live.

(Long-stemmed and Rosebushes); Spirals, Imperials, and Tundras
• Acceptable Eye Colors:
(Note that this only applies to nest breeding, not to the breeders themselves; breeders of excluded flights can be thought of as such: water = born in the gladeveins; ice = born during winter; fire = born during summer; lightning = born beneath a lightning-struck tree; earth = born in an area of rich soil; wind = born in spring )

Classic roses are primarily Nature-bred, throughout the Labyrinth; however, pink or white ranged can also be found in Arcane territory, while red-range are very seldomly found in Plaguelands.

Friendship roses are primarily bred in the Everbloom gardens, but can also be nurtured in Light territory

Rare roses can only be bred in the dark of the Shrieking Wilds or the shade of the Behemoth - so they can also be found in Shadow territory (all ranges), Arcane hollows (black/purple ranges), or again very seldomly out of Plague (black-range only)
• Lore:
The scales/fur of Rose dragons feels especially silky, even as their bodies are adorned with sharp, hard thorns.

• Additional Notes:
There are three "Classes" of Rose dragons, based on color. They tend to stick to their own Class (among other Roses) and display a deference to hierarchy when interacting cross-Class :

Classic (rust-white) are the most plentiful and widely-recognized.

Sunflowers were original explorers from the Sunbeam Ruins, looking to study and catalog the various types of flora and fauna on the Viridian Labyrinth across the sea.

"Forest and River" dragons (short FaR dragons) are a nature subspecies, that live near or in rivers who run trough thick forest and woods. They are know to store water in their bellies, beginning with the first river water where they are born. As they grow and get older they can store more and more water and the water that flows trough them is know to have magical and healing properties.

Stream Bringer
Stream Bringer are a special form of FaR dragons, they are born and raised next to a wellspring. The water they carry is pure and is used in ceremonies, for example to purge evil ghosts. They are rare and if you see one it is said that you will have 7 years of luck.

Riverbed
Riverbeds are another special form of FaR dragons. They are born where the rivers enter the sea, the water that they carry is always a little to salty and most dragons don't like it, but it is said that, when you drink the water of Riverbed FaR dragons for one year, each day, that at the last day your soulmate will appear.

Deepforest
This subdivision of FaR dragon is born in the deepest part of the forest and most often is said to have clairvoyant abilities.

Decaying Woods
These FaR dragons are born in a sick/burned down or death forest and it is said that they will bring misfortune to clans where they stay.

First Rain
These FaR dragons are born when it rains, most often their water is perfect for gardening and they are welcomed in all clans. But they are the most roaming dragons of all the FaR dragons and won't stay forever in one clan.
• Additional Notes:
There are subdivision and special forms of this subspecies that include Standard, Stream Bringer, Riverbed, Deepforest, Decaying Woods, and First Rain.

• Lore:
The Fungus Fae reside deep within the Shrieking Wilds, and they are a species that has only recently become a noticeable force.

• Lore:
Forest Spirits are a bit of a mystery to any dragon who has come across one.

• Additional Notes:
XXY or XXX dragons are considered "pure-blood" Forest Spirits.

In the distant past, Gladelings were all hatched as Wildclaws, Nature's own native species, with the colors of the Gladekeeper and camouflaging patterns to let them blend into the thick vegetation of the jungle. These Gladelings were able to communicate with the Gladekeeper from anywhere within the Viridian Labyrinth, and this close connection to the Gladekeeper lent them magical abilities: to make plants grow in any condition, and to revive sick or dying plants. The Gladelings formed exclusive clans who roamed the Viridian Labyrinth, carrying with them seeds, cuttings, and saplings, with the mission of caring for the plantlife that inhabited the Gladekeeper's territory and spreading this life wherever possible. Over time, the initial burst of power that allowed for the hatching of Gladelings was spent, and the numbers of new Gladelings dwindled. To preserve their lineage and their calling, the decision was made to mingle with dragons of other breeds and colors - but as their bloodline became thinned, their abilities waned. Gladelings remained prodigious gardeners and caretakers of plants for their clans, but they did not have quite the abilities of Gladelings at their beginnings, and they lost their abilities to communicate with the Gladekeeper that they once had. The thinning of the bloodlines allowed for more frequent misidentifications to occur, and dragons from other flights or with other patterns of the Gladekeepers colors began to be acclaimed as Gladelings themselves. These counterfeit Gladelings persisted and sometimes took advantage of other dragons in the guide of true Gladelings - sometimes even joining clans of Gladelings. It was the Bounty of Elements that changed everything. With the extreme burst of magical energy, new kinds of Gladeling began to be hatched once more. Prophets once again roam the lands - and with them, New Prophets, their eyes blooming with the magical energy of the Gladekeeper. Strange eyes peered out across the lands, serving as the Gladekeepers eyes. The bloodlines of the Gladelings were renewed. [*]Additional Notes: This subspecies has five subtypes. In addition to the standard there is; Prophets Sometimes, a Prophet of the Gladekeeper will be born, though no one knows exactly what conditions are necessary for this to happen. Prophets who arise from the ancient bloodlines of the original Gladelings always retain the original image of the subspecies. Since the Bounty of Elements, a new magic has found its way into the nests of the Viridian Labyrinth. A new kind of Prophets, brimming with the Gladekeeper's magic, can be hatched in any breed or gene combination, and they are visually identified by the flowers that appear to grow from their eyes. Whichever appearance a Prophet takes, they all possess the original abilities of the Gladelings. They can grow plants anywhere, revive sick or dying plants, and they can communicate directly with the Gladekeeper in order to carry out her wishes. Most are known to wander the Viridian Labyrinth as their ancestors once did, every so often falling into a silent, trance-like state while they speak with the Gladekeeper, before carrying on with their mission. Watchers In addition to New Prophets, the Gladekeeper has also created a new type of helper to aid in spreading her essence across Sornieth: Watchers. Watchers cannot spread life in quite the manner that a Prophet can; instead, they take advantage of the new types of eyes they have been gifted in order to gather information for the Gladekeeper. Those with Glowing Eyes give her the sharpest view of their surroundings, those with Multi-Gaze give her the widest view, and those with Facet Eyes can see wavelengths most dragons cannot to give her a different view. They are her eyes, allowing her to constantly survey Sornieth through them so that she may better utilize her Prophets. Counterfeit Gladelings As Gladelings become more prominent in the Gladekeeper's realm, there are others who are sometimes mistaken for one of her chosen ones, called a Counterfeit Gladeling. These dopplegangers are easily confused for a true Gladeling because their appearance is very similar. Their colors are still Jungle, Forest, and Green, but the colors may be out of order - or they may be hatched from a different flight, without the magical connection to the Gladekeeper. These Counterfeits have none of the abilities that make a true Gladeling special, and they similarly lack the connection to the Gladekeeper that the subspecies is known for. However, Counterfeit Gladelings are still sometimes confused for the real thing, and there have been instances of a few taking advantage of that fact to gain prominent positions in their clan and the reverence given to a true Gladeling. Curiously, I peered through the dense bushes and saw a bright clearing whirling with flashes of color. Tiny creatures that I first mistook for insects darted in and out of the luxuriant greenery and fluttered around the most vibrant and colossal blossoms I had ever seen. It would be easy to take the tiny dragons for butterflies, especially set against a backdrop of such magnificent blooms. Their wings were a rainbow of colors, from vivid pinks to lush blues to vibrant reds, and their hides every hue of green imaginable. It would have been hard to guess from that distance if their brown paws were muddy or marked with rich brown bands of color, or both. Some, though, had wings as green as leaves, and hid well camouflaged within the foliage. They were quite still, unlike their fluttering, bright-winged brethren. They seemed to be on watch, for something. As I looked more closely, I saw another small group, gathered around wooden racks in the brightest sun. They appeared to be drying and preserving a variety of herbs and flowers. The wings of these herbalists were paler and browner than their counterparts. Within moments, a group of the petal-winged flyers noticed me watching and darted up, quizzically tilting their heads as they hovered in front of me. The foremost of the group wiped at a smudge of dirt on her cheek, but her muddy paw only left another larger streak of earth on the dappled green of her face. She chirped out a greeting and invited me into the clearing. I came to know these tiny creatures as the hummingbees, a group of horticulturally minded dragons who nurture and protect the green, growing things of the world. While the world is their garden, they have a symbiotic relationship with a particular group of flowers. So close is the symbiosis that they are almost like parts of the same creature. The hummingbees simply refer to these marvels of adaptation as the “home-flowers”. There are several species of these plants, whose growth habits and flower colors vary. These magnificent plants grow exceedingly large, with blooms and leaves large enough to shelter their protectors. The fae make their homes amongst these towering flora. In return for the faes’ protection, the home-flowers have evolved certain rewards to encourage their guardians to stay with them. Not only does their size allow ample shelter for the faes, but the home-flowers grow specialized nest-like leaves, with water-tight tops and cushiony floors, perfect for a fae or two to rest in. The plants also proffer nodes of pure nectar even when they are not flowering, which gives the faes a welcome cool drink and burst of energy. Interestingly, home-flower plants that are distressed by injury or disease seem to give a much more enticing nectar to encourage more attention from the faes. There are, I have observed, three types of hummingbees, all working together within their colonies. The most common are the petalwings. They tend the home-flowers and other beneficial flora within their territories, clearing the ground of weeds, pruning away dead or injured leaves and flowers, ferrying water from nearby creeks on hot days, and ensuring pollination. The wing colors of the petalwings show which species of home-flowers they are associated with. There are seven groups: pink, red, orange, yellow, blue, purple and white. Then, the leafwing hummingbees. Their wings are varying shades of green, to blend into the foliage of the plants. They are both sentinels and hunters. Hummingbees, like all fae, enjoy insects for their meals, and insects are one of the biggests threats to the home-flowers and other plants. It is possible that this mutually beneficial relationship was the beginning of the symbiosis between fae and flower. Drypetal hummingbees, with their brown wings, make up the last, and least common group. These are unusual in that they don’t directly tend the flora. Instead, they are herbalists and students of botany. In addition to cataloguing and studying the flora of the region, they are skilled alchemists and herbalists. They specialize in crafting potions, teas and tinctures to heal the bodies and minds of their fellows. Their knowledge of herbs also helps them to be excellent cooks. Footnote: I hesitate to add this, since in my observation of them, they are a bright and cheerful group of dragons, who live in healthy harmony with their plants. As such, this may well be an old-dragon’s tail. However, there are cases in the insect world, as of the ants and acacia trees, where symbiosis is not so pleasant as it once seemed. Perhaps a similar situation could indeed have arisen amongst these dragons, and there are rumors. If you were to ask the old crones of the colony, they might add that there is a fourth type of hummingbee, one that is not found in most colonies or lairs. It is said, quietly, or in hatchling-tales told on dark nights, that there are feral, sinister home-flowers tended by sap-addled, enthralled hummingbees deep in the Plaguelands or even the Shrieking Wilds. In hushed tones, they would explain the enticing nectar produced by injured home-flowers has taken a dark turn in some corners of the world. The pleasing qualities have been amplified to intoxicating levels, and are no longer limited to when the plant is injured. By holding the hummingbees that tend these plants in thrall, the peaceful symbiosis has turned into something strange and unsettling.     This subspecies has five subtypes. In addition to the standard there is;

Prophets
Sometimes, a Prophet of the Gladekeeper will be born, though no one knows exactly what conditions are necessary for this to happen. Prophets who arise from the ancient bloodlines of the original Gladelings always retain the original image of the subspecies. Since the Bounty of Elements, a new magic has found its way into the nests of the Viridian Labyrinth. Watchers
In addition to New Prophets, the Gladekeeper has also created a new type of helper to aid in spreading her essence across Sornieth: Watchers. Watchers cannot spread life in quite the manner that a Prophet can; instead, they take advantage of the new types of eyes they have been gifted in order to gather information for the Gladekeeper. The foremost of the group wiped at a smudge of dirt on her cheek, but her muddy paw only left another larger streak of earth on the dappled green of her face. She chirped out a greeting and invited me into the clearing.

I came to know these tiny creatures as the hummingbees, a group of horticulturally minded dragons who nurture and protect the green, growing things of the world. While the world is their garden, they have a symbiotic relationship with a particular group of flowers. So close is the symbiosis that they are almost like parts of the same creature. The hummingbees simply refer to these marvels of adaptation as the “home-flowers”. There are several species of these plants, whose growth habits and flower colors vary. These magnificent plants grow exceedingly large, with blooms and leaves large enough to shelter their protectors. The fae make their homes amongst these towering flora.

In return for the faes’ protection, the home-flowers have evolved certain rewards to encourage their guardians to stay with them. Not only does their size allow ample shelter for the faes, but the home-flowers grow specialized nest-like leaves, with water-tight tops and cushiony floors, perfect for a fae or two to rest in. The plants also proffer nodes of pure nectar even when they are not flowering, which gives the faes a welcome cool drink and burst of energy. Interestingly, home-flower plants that are distressed by injury or disease seem to give a much more enticing nectar to encourage more attention from the faes.

There are, I have observed, three types of hummingbees, all working together within their colonies. The most common are the petalwings. They tend the home-flowers and other beneficial flora within their territories, clearing the ground of weeds, pruning away dead or injured leaves and flowers, ferrying water from nearby creeks on hot days, and ensuring pollination. The wing colors of the petalwings show which species of home-flowers they are associated with. There are seven groups: pink, red, orange, yellow, blue, purple and white.

Then, the leafwing hummingbees. Their wings are varying shades of green, to blend into the foliage of the plants. They are both sentinels and hunters. Hummingbees, like all fae, enjoy insects for their meals, and insects are one of the biggests threats to the home-flowers and other plants. It is possible that this mutually beneficial relationship was the beginning of the symbiosis between fae and flower.

Drypetal hummingbees, with their brown wings, make up the last, and least common group. These are unusual in that they don’t directly tend the flora. Instead, they are herbalists and students of botany. In addition to cataloguing and studying the flora of the region, they are skilled alchemists and herbalists. They specialize in crafting potions, teas and tinctures to heal the bodies and minds of their fellows. Their knowledge of herbs also helps them to be excellent cooks.

Footnote:

I hesitate to add this, since in my observation of them, they are a bright and cheerful group of dragons, who live in healthy harmony with their plants. As such, this may well be an old-dragon’s tail. However, there are cases in the insect world, as of the ants and acacia trees, where symbiosis is not so pleasant as it once seemed. Perhaps a similar situation could indeed have arisen amongst these dragons, and there are rumors.

If you were to ask the old crones of the colony, they might add that there is a fourth type of hummingbee, one that is not found in most colonies or lairs. It is said, quietly, or in hatchling-tales told on dark nights, that there are feral, sinister home-flowers tended by sap-addled, enthralled hummingbees deep in the Plaguelands or even the Shrieking Wilds. In hushed tones, they would explain the enticing nectar produced by injured home-flowers has taken a dark turn in some corners of the world. The pleasing qualities have been amplified to intoxicating levels, and are no longer limited to when the plant is injured. By holding the hummingbees that tend these plants in thrall, the peaceful symbiosis has turned into something strange and unsettling.

Silver, mirrors, "cool" toned stones and flowers and other things, things that glow or give of a ‘soft’ lights. Others may not get a lot of contact with them, but they are in fact very common. Their natural camouflage keeps them hidden until they are ready to find a mate which is always done under a full moon. And like the fluttery insect they mimic they are wide and varied in color and design. Snows are Shamans and Spiritual leaders, Priests and Priestess. They do not fight, instead they are healers. [*]Lore: Psittacines are dragons with an affinity for the many colorful parrots and macaws that live throughout Sornieth. Psittacines originated in the forests of the Viridian Labyrinth, where most species developed brightly-colored plumage in order to be seen by their friends and family in the shadowy depths of the jungle. Now they can be found in all parts of Sornieth, and while most tend to prefer warmer climates, they range throughout the world, even the farthest reaches of the snowy Southern Icefield. Psittacines are friendly, gregarious dragons who much prefer to be in the company of others. It is not uncommon for a flock of Psittacine dragons to stick quite close together throughout their daily activities, calling continually to one another in mixed flocks of dragons and birds. Even a lone Psittacine living in a clan without other members of their flock will usually form close relationships with other dragons. Psittacines are uncomfortable when they lack companionship, and may become depressed, to the point where their plumage will fade, and they pluck out their own feathers. Psittacines are active dragons - often flitting from one thing to the next - and they tend to be very vocal, communicating loudly, enthusiastically, and often with one another, in what can sometimes sound cacophonous to calmer, quieter dragons. In addition to using their voices, Psittacines have developed a the ability to communicate using the crest of feathers on their shoulders, and can express a wide variety of emotions through different displays of plumage. A Psittacine whose crest feathers are standing up straight is excited about something, or happy to see you; one whose crest feathers lie entirely flat is probably not in a very good mood, and should be be avoided. Instead, they absorb energy from the sun by means of the chlorophyll in their skin, just like plants do. To this end, they also drink a great deal of water. It is suspected that they carry symbiotic green algae in on their skin, which soon fuse with their cells to turn into chloroplasts – cell organelles also present in plants and responsible for photosynthesis. This theory is supported by the observation that all walking leaf dragons are born in Nature, where nests are lush and green. Some of that verdure may creep in along the seams at the top of the egg where the leaves sprout, joining the developing hatchling. However, only Mirrors and Wildclaws have the ability to form this symbiotic bond. Perhaps this is because they were created by the sister deities of Plague and Nature. Plague dragons are more inclined to survive alongside microbes that might harm other dragons, while Nature dragons thrive with plants as close as possible, even microscopic ones like algae. Walking leaves require a lot of sun to grow strong. The wings may turn autumnal when the temperature drops and the days get shorter. In these conditions they will eat more regular dragon food, and they also become more lethargic in unideal weather. They enjoy the company of plant-like familiars – such as druids, stranglers and janustraps – and prefer not to wear much if any apparel, since covering their skin inhibits their energy intake. [*]Additional Notes: There is also a sub-subspecies that is based on Walking Sticks; all things identical except they're spirals. Once a plentiful dragon clan, they have all but been wiped out of existence. A plague out of the Scarred Wasteland. Some say it was deliberate - a another move in the silent war between Plaguebringer and Gladekeeper while others say it was accidental. One thing's for certain, this clan holds many of the last of the Ladybugs.

And for good reason too. Though many believe the ladybug strain to be pests-- or even omens of death due to their colors-- they are essential to the Gladekeeper since they eat any bugs they can find. Without a few ladybugs around, aphids may eat through her spectacular beard, or worse, infect the trees around her from the roots up.

Moth Dragons are most active at dusk and dawn and primarily nocturnal. They are shy and reserved for the most part. They are drawn to shiny things(like most dragons) but they especially love things that remind them of the moon, stars, or that reflect the moonlight and starlight.

• Additional Notes:
There are three morphs for moth dragons: Dull Morphs, Bright Morphs, and Snow Morphs

Primary, secondary and tertiary colors MUST come from same color groups.

• Lore:
Psittacines are dragons with an affinity for the many colorful parrots and macaws that live throughout Sornieth.

• Additional Notes:
Their name is pronounced "SIT-a-scenes"

There are currently two variants; the Scarlet Macaws and the Blue-And-Gold Macaws

Walking Leaves

• Acceptable Breeds: Mirror and Wildclaw
• Acceptable Eye Colors: Nature
• Lore:
These dragons look like carnivores, but they do in fact eat very little.

• Additional Notes:
There is also a sub-subspecies that is based on Walking Sticks; all things identical except they're spirals.
