So for the last two days I've done 1000 battles in the Training Fields and recorded the results.

This is really interesting, actually. :3 -loves statistics-
Slightly depressing to see you never, out of 1,000 fights got an Ambush, Sap or Eliminate! ;--;
I'd offer to record my results on the Sandswept Delta stage but I really should go off and code my generator. If they don't have to be 1,000 consecutive fights (though I assume if I stop recording at some point in the midst of it, it would skew the results slightly), I wouldn't mind helping.
I don't suppose you got the list of item drops elsewhere and pre-entered the information, or did you just add as the items popped up?
Either way, that looks like some task, tedious or otherwise. -applauds-

This is really interesting! I started doing the same thing a few weeks ago (one half hour at a time, so I don't get bored). I've been recording the drops in several venues. The only difference is that I don't record how many items drop at the end of each battle (so I don't have any stats like "percentage of battles with 0 item"). I just empty my hoard, and record everything I looted after 30 minutes of battling. This allows me to see the profit that can be made in different venues, or the kind of food I can get. And I can compare the
loot/hourand
loot/100 battles (those are just quick screenshots, since I track this on excel, and I haven't ported it to google sheets), which can vary greatly.
So far I have done 252 battles in Woodland Path, 397 in Sandswept Delta, 333 in Arena, 529 in Rainsong Jungle, 318 in Boreal Wood, 127 in Harpy's Roost, 288 in Mire. Sooo, I could maybe help you in your task? Only I don't keep track of the number of items per battle. :\ So I don't know if I would be very helpful.

Avalas Hey thanks! I love statistics too. :3
Yeah I was bummed to see that too, but I noticed that I mostly got those stones in higher level areas?
What's this generator that you're coding? Sounds neat! O:
But back to your question, I did do the 1000 battles consecutively, but I did take breaks every 50-100 or so battles.
I did get the battle drop items list from
here and
here for the data, but I left extra spaces just in case I ran into something I wasn't expecting.
-bows- It was tedious as heck, but also kinda fun!
@
GodricNorthman Hey thanks! I agree, it is interesting. :D
I started with a similar method! It was a lot easier, but then I got greedy and wanted to collect more data. >.>;
I'd love to have a second method with more data to compare against, so keep up the good work! :3

I'm interested in doing this too! Could you explain how the Drop Record section of the spreadsheet works? (I won't be able to really get down to it until Sunday, unless I start with the Mire--leveling fodder right now.)

Sure thing! So, I assume you've made a copy of the spreadsheet. Then clear everything from Drop Record and add the items for the Mire under items.
As for how Drop Rate works.
If you get 0 items, you type in Z.
1 items = a
2 items = b
3 items = c
etc. all the way to 12 items = L.
After you type in the letter, you type in the Index number for the item.
So, for the training fields example, say you got two crunchy moth legs.
In one of the cells, you would type "b" and then in the next two cells "2" and another "2."
This'll tell the spreadsheet that you got two items, and what they were.
Give it a try and let me know if it works for you!

Will do! Looking forward to seeing how many battles I get through in the Mire this week...
