By turn the Flowers aren't really orthodox Nature and don't fit in well over there, so they spend their time migrating between two territories (via Shadow) with occasional side-trips into other domains. There is one area in which he is the consummate Plague dragon, and that is survival. Regardless of the hostility of the territory or its inhabitants, the paucity of the food or the vagaries of the weather, Marrowrend survives. He is not beneath scavenging or begging for a meal, nor working unpleasant or difficult jobs for a clawful of treasure and a roof over his head. More often, though, he earns his keep through his cleverness. A self-taught alchemist, a reader of blood, talented in the use of herbs and knife and talon to heal wounds, he exchanges his services as a healer in return for the opportunity to study the maladies of those he heals. Not all dragons he meets are so comfortable with a Plague dragon performing such services for them, and that's all right, too—he'll do whatever else it takes to get the information he seeks, no matter how demeaning or strange. And, well—blood flows through the brain. Twisting its flow a little here or there to incline a dragon in his favor is not beneath his dignity.[/size]
