Lovers of history and the land, these dragons are a loyal traditionalist and live for their cherished festivals.

With reports of portals and Emperors spreading between the Tangled Wood and the Beacon of the Radiant Eye, many a dragon loyal to Light and Shadow have renounced their allegiance for self-preservation, and north they all traveled. Some reached Earth Shaker, other’s Glade Keeper. But for those few and far between that had followed Light’s lanterns and Shadow glow shrooms to a familiar yet strange sight… Glowing Pumpkins the size of houses. It is here where those refugees sought shelter.

[center][size=6]The Pumpkin Patch[/size][/center]
An inviting and lively region, the Pumpkin Patch offers an excellent place for dragons to live together in community. The dragons make their homes inside giant pumpkins that are each uniquely designed by its owner. Some are carved to look like regular houses, while others are are carved to look like grinning faces, or to sport complex designs. The pumpkins are enchanted to never rot or fall apart, so they can last as long as needed. Dragons who first move here are each given their own pumpkin, whose size varies depending on the size or amount of dragons living there. The entire community then gathers together for a “Carving Ceremony” where the pumpkin is emptied out, and the meat is then cooked into hundreds of pies and treats to be distributed throughout the community.
At night, these pumpkin houses glow from inside with golden light, and the cobblestone streets are lined with string lights and jack-o-lanterns. Though the pumpkin village itself holds many many fun shops and festivals, an equally vibrant, yet often overlooked community exists underground. Hidden under rugs and accessed by cellar doors, the Pumpkin Patch underground is home to a veriety of dragons living in a state of eternal Holloween. All who enter come wearing a costume of some sort, dressed like skeletons, or ghosts, or monsters. Still others walk through cavern walls and bear too-sharp teeth, yet wear no costume at all...[nextcol]

There are many urban legends surrounding Memory (most of which she started herself), but the one that bears the closest resemblance to the truth is a favorite among the Pumpkin Patch veterans. As the story goes, Memory has been around as long as the Pumpkin Patch. Longer even. Filled with stories, but with no one to tell them to, Memory found herself alone in a place of eternal autumn. Resolving to find some way, [i]any[/i] way to tell her stories, Memory decided to build a house that would hold all the memories of her travels. So the first pumpkin house was formed.
Years later, dragons from all over had flocked to the Patch, receiving their own pumpkins and traveling to the Memory library to hear the stories of the great Imperial. The underground was carved out as a way to preserve the memories of the dead, even if that meant bringing them back to life.
Memory herself is often seen walking around downtown, and is always present at the Carving Ceremonies, using her large imperial size to help hollow out each home. [/center][nextcol][color=transparent]————[/color]

The Cornfield separates the Pumpkin Patch and the Maple Grove forest. Those who wish to find that red forest must first find their way through the maize maze, developed and protected by Dwayyo. Few dragons live among the vast corn stalks, claiming corners here and there, where you can find little cottages and shops. In spring time, when the corn has been eaten and the stalks beaten down, the field looks like a little wooden town divided by red thread left on the ground. In the summer, the corn grows alongside the thread, and only residents of the field know the exact path to and from their neighbors.

Tailypo sought shelter in the Maple Grove, but Dwayyo stayed within the corn, confusing those who seek ill will and granting passage to those with pure intentions.

Maple Grove is a densely forested territory that trails along the edges of the Cornfield. The ancient trees loom above the heads of most Imperials and the dark branches are crowned with gold and auburn leaves. The entire forest spans for miles, an undulating ocean of gold, red and orange. According to legend, the grove sprouted from a battlefield when a territorial war was fought between local beast tribes long ago. It is said the warriors’ blood soaked into the soil and nurtured the trees for years, resulting in the sub-territory’s famously sweet, cherry-red sap.
Resident dragons of Maple Grove oftentimes create homes inside hollowed and cleaned maple trees, or cozy barrows deep within the wild, tangled roots. Traditionally, intricate designs are carved into the bark of trees to mark them as occupied. Maple Grove is a densely forested territory that trails along the edges of the Cornfield. The ancient trees loom above the heads of most Imperials and the dark branches are crowned with gold and auburn leaves. The entire forest spans for miles, an undulating ocean of gold, red and orange. According to legend, the grove sprouted from a battlefield when a territorial war was fought between local beast tribes long ago. It is said the warriors’ blood soaked into the soil and nurtured the trees for years, resulting in the sub-territory’s famously sweet, cherry-red sap.
Resident dragons of Maple Grove oftentimes create homes inside hollowed and cleaned maple trees, or cozy barrows deep within the wild, tangled roots. Traditionally, intricate designs are carved into the bark of trees to mark them as occupied. Its name is Cindershroom Summit. The post is set in the heart of an ancient forest where the trees rise up like towers, their leaves ever turning an array of colors; red and yellow and orange, only the newest growths being green.
In the forest, the cycle of Fall is ever-present, always growing and always fading. The floor is littered in a carpet of mulch and fallen leaves, rotten logs and stumps peppered throughout the landscape, strewn over darkened grass. The other seasons wash over the forest near the Summit only briefly, a few weeks of a colder breeze, or hot days, or fresh blooming flowers. Otherwise, the sun’s rays always hold onto the same fading warmth beneath the trees, battled by an ever present breeze with just the whisper of chill in it.
Most dragons would simply fly over the forest if simply passing by instead of traipsing through, so there are a few landing platforms to rest on, in the highest branches of the largest trees. Winding from them and through the forest entirely, however, there are trails. Each leads out of the forest in one direction, and toward the post in the other.
These trails are simple, cleared dirt paths marked out by tiny mushrooms framing the side every so often. The mushrooms grow thicker and more frequently the deeper into the wood one travels, dotting along not just the trails but also the trees, scattered here and there in some places.
At the very center of the forest is the summit itself, settled in a clearing surrounded by and inundated with larger mushrooms big enough for Fae to perch on. Some of which grow to even more massive heights, each appearing near colonies of their smaller relatives. The post itself is made up of an arrangement of stands, shacks, and stalls, that fill the clearing. The trading post is often bustling with both traders and customers bustling in and out, some passing through, some staying for longer.
A few permanent buildings exist as well, for those that reside permanently in the Summit or work to help keep it running smoothly, all of which are painted vividly to stand out beneath the colorful trees that surround them without quite blending in completely. It is hard to build wooden structures that last in the forest, but they’re well maintained.
And then, in the trees, are carefully constructed ledges and platforms spiraling around and above the clearing itself, extending the trading post up into the upper boughs of the mighty wood. The platforms are linked together by bridges, all of which, including the clearing below, are lit by strung together lamps and elemental lights, twinkling and keeping the area in a perpetual state of autumn twilight.[/size][/font]
