So I was like defeat is friendship is canon in FR but I was going through the thread and someone reminded me of the fact that you're killing the shade in the coli monsters but then I thought it's a video game so mechanics mean a kill is not a kill is you're infected with the shade...and suddenly it hit me.
The Shade is like the Black Gears from Digimon....

I wonder is banishing hte shade from a creature looks like it's natural element so would banishing the shade from a lightning element monster mean a black gear or black lightning? what do the other elements look like
I haven't watched Digimon, but it sounds like a very good concept. It feels better than just saying "you killed it, now you get one of its parents/child/cousin/friend as your pet", but does it also mean the food item drops you get from them were 'too Shade-infected' to be salvaged, so you just take it home and boil it into a hearty stew?
