Water Imperials often tell their hatchlings the story of Scylla, the Emperor who was defeated and trapped in the very depths of the Sea. Eat your insects, or you’ll end up like Scylla, locked in eternal rage and agony, ready to utterly destroy anything it encounters. (They don’t say that part.)

Today's card is the 5 of Cups

The Five of Cups wallows in regret and loss. It is rejection of pleasure, feeling sorrow, and wishing for what might have been.

This is supposed to be a very regretful and sad card, but in my readings it usually ends up be the 'i dunno' card. Its also my deck's favorite card so ofc it had to appear. My own reading of the card is as follows below and is heavily based on the personality of my deck.
If you click the card link to view the pic bigger, notice the fishbowl she holds. Is the bowl half empty or is it actually full? The fish swims in the upper 'empty' half. Perhaps the glass isn't half empty after all. In the woman's sadness she closes off her view of the world and not everything is quite as bad as she sees it.
She's also completely oblivious to the wind spirits circling her. To me they look like they are trying to comfort her or show her there is still light/hope as seen floating in the palm of the one in front of her. But she is too focused on the bad half empty glass.
So my advice is try not to limit yourself to only seeing that half empty glass. You are missing the positive forces circling you, whether it be friends, family, or something else entirely. The situation you find yourself in may not be entirely as it seems. Try to have an open mind to your surroundings and give your problem a second thought. You may feel hopelessness but you can pull through this.
i didnt mean to write this much but 5 of cups is very important to me and my deck
All cards and descriptions come from my Shadowscape Tarot Deck and companion book except for my own reading

A young healer only wishes to help and bring honor to her family back on the shores. But when the horrors get to be too much, will her oath to help those in need hold?

It’s a well-kept secret among Water dragons that the Tidelord’s bubbles don’t only predict the future… they influence it.

As an aside, Water always has the best festivals with some of the neatest events. I still have the boi I won from one a few years ago and I'm always excited to see what else goes on!

A cult of fundamentalist Guardians believes that the only true deity is the Tidelord, and that all dragons arose from the primordial muck of the seafloor and crawled onto land.

How do you fight a horror that even the Gods can barely contain? How do you resist him as he warps your mind and your flesh? For the sake of the world, how do you not?
