As mentioned in the Sign Up thread, you may also gift gem MP items or [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=market&tab=spec&type=0]treasure specialty tabs MP items[/url] that add up to half of the tier's value. Please discuss with your elf any issues you run into, but the short of it is: [b][color=green]the closer you follow your match's wish list, the less your adherence to the second rule matters.[/color][/b] For example, you are in the 500k tier and your match's wish list reads: "I am collecting eggs for my birthday hatch." Eggs are not 250k items, especially around NotN when all egg prices plummet, but if you send enough eggs to meet the 500k tier minimum, [b]you will have followed your match's wish list closely and have met the gift requirements.[/b] [size=4][i]Calculating Value[/i][/size] [list][*]Scrolls, vistas, and gem MP items are valued at their MP price. [*]All other items are valued at their lowest AH price. [*]Only site items are used to calculate the value of a gift.[/list] [size=4][i]Special Considerations[/i][/size] [list][*][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=wiki&article=85]NotN items'[/url] values plummet during the event, do not use their pre-NotN value when preparing your gift. [*][b]All[/b] unhatched egg values plummet during the event. [*]Two or more gene or breed change scrolls can be used to meet the half tier value for the 500k and up tier. You may change if you'd like to be revealed to your match at delivery, but changing your participation tier is not possible at this time. Changes to your wish list should be avoided.[/indent] [b]Why do I need 1 item worth half of my gift?[/b] [indent]We strive for fairness; little tweaks, such as the addition of this rule, help everyone feel like they had a successful and fun exchange. There are exceptions to this rule -- [i]the closer you are following their wish list, the less we worry about the individual price of items.[/i][/indent] [b]Why don't non-site items count towards the value of my gift?[/b] [indent]Non-site item gifts such as reservations, art, services such as brewing or leveling, etc. are difficult to value. You are still welcome to gift those services to your match![/indent] [b]What is the Rematch Exchange?[/b] [indent]The rematch exchange happens after the main exchange, and exists to get gifts to those whose Santa fell through. We ask for Rematch Santa volunteers on the sign up form, and we will contact them with the wish list of the affected participant. Those participants will have to wait a little longer for their holiday cheer, but last year we had NO rematches! Hopefully they will remain a thing of the past, and all gifts are accounted for come Christmas.[/indent] [b]What if I don't like my gift?[/b] [indent]Elves are instructed not to send out any gifts that do not meet the requirements for the event. Hopefully, the financial tiers and more stringent value requirements will put an end to feelings like this. However, we cannot guarantee that you will love your gift. In order to avoid this, we’ve included an option for participants to supply their Santa with a detailed wish list. Fill it out thoroughly and give your Santa a good idea of what would brighten your season. Please be grateful for the thought and effort put into your gift, even if it isn’t exactly what you asked for.
