When I was a days-old newbie still waiting for my first nest to hatch I had the most amazing revelation while looking at the babies in the Scrying Workshop: girls are their mother's breed and boys are their father's!
Woke up the next morning going 'I am a moron...'

@sockmonkeygerald That actually sounds like an interesting idea though ... imagine how it would add another dimension to species rarity calculations, and how much harder it would be to breed a dream dragon.

When I first started out in the Coliseum, I was thinking too much along the lines of Pokemon, so the element effectiveness/non-effectiveness system really confused me and I thought dragons wouldn't gain experience when fainted like fainted Pokemon don't. Thus, I didn't understand how fodder training worked at all and didn't even conceive that it would be profitable.
I am much wiser now. At least I hope I am xD;.

I thought that apparel would make your dragon stronger in coli. That's why my first derg I trained to lvl 25 (Smokie) has claws on

I was very confused when I first joined and noticed that the Auction House doesn't really use an Auction system.

I, too, thought that it was not possible to own an Imperial unless you had been involved in the Kickstarter. When I saw Imps for sale in the AH, I was so happy. My avatar dragon is the very first one I had purchased.

I thought you could only get one festival chest per day from the coli so once I got one I quit for the day. Oops.
Also, it took a solid 4 months before I fixed in my head that the Trading Post was where Crim/Swipp/Tomo were found (I kept thinking they were in Crossroads).

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.
Have you checked the
Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in
5g?

SapphireMoon Same, same, and same! I didn't realize that so many people had the same misconceptions as me. I can't think of anything else so I will just leave at that x.x

Back when I haven't joined the site I thought that dragon rarity means how hard it's to acquire them. For example I thought that Imperials are super rare and impossible to get and that you could only get them at kickstarter
[/quote]
This is what I thought when I first joined, so the first thing I did was buy imp and WC hatchlings. And then I couldn't do much on the site, because my lair was full of hatchlings that wouldn't be able to breed for nearly a month and I didn't want to breed my progens.

This basically! I thought they were really hard to get and people were being SUPER nice by giving them away for free to newbies so I got as many as I could, as well as I thought "I'll never be a newbie again! Might as well get freebies while I can!" And I wanted to get one of every breed. ^^' Also when I joined I got wildclaws confused with guardians in rarity and so I thought "nah I won't bother getting one of those for free. They're super common." And then after awhile I realized "OH SHOOT THOSE ARE THE RAREST KIND BASICALLY I GOTTA GET ONE WHILE I STILL CAN!!!" Because I thought it'd be super hard to get a Wildclaw any other way. xD
