Originally, my catch-phrase was "Here the winds gust strongly, and create a melody of peace", so I called myself Wind's Rest. Then I moved to Ice, so my clan is The Icebound, and I'm honestly not sure why.

My clan takes in a lot of wandering and/or outcast dragons, so "Sanctuary" seemed like an apt term. Then I'm also in Light Flight, and we like lanterns and other shiny things, so "Sanctuary of the Lantern's Light" it was. Plus, lanterns give off a soft, cozy glow, which complements the idea of a sanctuary.

Same here. I named my clan The Rose Sanctuary, with their formal name being Clan Cygne Rouge.

Well Belegorn, my username is Sindarin for 'mighty tree'. I'd just re-read the Lord of the Rings, and I wanted a name that could be used for lore.
As for my clan name, The Verdant Grounds, I wanted something that reflected the nature flight and left an opportunity for lore. Also, I really like the word 'verdant' - it just sounds very pleasant and wholesome to me, and that's what I wanted my clan lore to be like.

My main clan is named Darkfrost and I honestly can't remember how I came up with a name that cool and fitting, aside from it being an ice clan... and like... i considered joining shadow for a while? idk.
The Names of my other clans would be:
- F A E
- Afterlife
- Shade hunting alien gods
- Part of Sornieth's underground although the elemental region they reside in is still being debated
i'm not very good at naming them

Growing up, my father would sometimes use German phrases and words when talking to my brother and I, so I've always liked German. He would say things like Mitkommen (come along) and Tu das nicht (don't do that).
So I went with a German word as my clan's name, but it also had to be the opposite of how my dragons really are. I chose Verboten, Forbidden.
Verboten Clan, full of friendly dragons who want strangers to come around and talk to them.

"nordewell." i tend to think and write very sporadically and impulsively - the name just popped into my head 1 day and something just clicked. it sounds very aesthetically pleasing, and i've kept it ever since.

Ralakay Glen is a random keyboard mash name I came up with for a story years and years ago. The original Ralakay Glen has nothing to do with my current clan lore but I liked the name enough to reuse it. As for why I picked that particular name for my clan? Well... I have no idea. I basically couldn't think of anything so I fished around in my head for already existing names.

I didn't, i'm still waiting for it to come to me. :b
I sometimes go and actively hunt for one but most of the time i'm just doing the fishing equivalent. Sitting with some bait and waiting. No rush.

I started lore and a conection was made with the death seekers (a familiar ) and they look like crows , so my clan became the Crow Clan .(but oddly its full of bright / tropical colors ...haha)

My clan is known as the Luxphos Republic.
"Luxphos" comes from the Latin and Greek words for light: lux being the Latin word and phos being the Greek, respectively. Since I'm in Light Flight, I felt this would be fitting-- perhaps too much so, since I now have a clan known as the Lightlight Republic.
The reason for the "Republic" part of the name still continues to elude me. My clan is not a republic, despite the existence of a senate. It is ruled by an authoritarian empress, and she holds the power of veto, law-making, etc. I like to think it's because of Agrippina's wish to obscure the truth about her regime. Sort of like how all the Roman emperors up until Diocletian went by princeps- first citizen- instead of by something more indicative of their true rank, like dominus (lord).
TL;DR: From the Latin lux (light) + Greek phos (light), combined with "Republic" because heck, we've got a senate, so we're a democracy, right?
