In my lore, the gods rarely feature. They're more akin to a myth or legend than actual physical beings. A lot of my Clan neither want to know nor care about the gods and live by their own values. I do have a dedicated Glademother Priestess though who trained under the Glademother and prepares exaltees to go serve in her temple. In my Clan, being exalted is much like taking a vow to be a sacred monk; serving the Glademother at her temple in the Behemoth.

My clan started out in Shadow, so we're still children of the darkness at heart, and we love our Shadowmother. We moved to Light by accident, when expanding our lair (a series of underground labyrinthine tunnels), we accidentally dug too far and ended up in the Sunbeam Ruins. We would have gone back, but the tunnels collapsed behind us so we were just like, :\ I guess we live here now.

Glittermom has appeared to our clan's three priestesses a handful of times. Mostly she seems to disapprove of us living in her realm, but tolerates our presence.

Lightweaver definitely exists in my lore and is definitely a goddess. My clan is basically made up of monks/warrior monks/knights templar for her cause. The Exalted are the dragons Lightweaver has called into her service, which she does telepathically, as warriors in the fight against....whatever Lightweaver is against at the moment, whether that is another deity or against some force which threatens all dragons. My clan lives along a particularly difficult stretch of the Lightkeeper's Path and so they escort the Lightbringers (the Exalted) through the heart of their territory and towards the Great Pillar where Lightweaver calls her chosen, in exchange for a small fee to keep the monastery going.

As for being in contact with Lightweaver, well, my two guardians, Menanoron and Daybryke, have seen their Goddess many times as they are the primary escorts while Lotecoria, as clan matriarch, is occasionally contacted about Lightweaver's wishes. The rest tend to have belief and faith in their as most people do in theirs. Nimadel, as a Light Imperial and a white one to boot, has a particularly strong, instinctual connection with her Goddess, though she has yet to realize it. Now that she's starting her own (pinkerlocke) clan, that may soon change.

Wow, it's really interesting reading about how people treat the dieties in their lore.

In my lore, they're undoubtedly real as political leaders, but their power differs depending on the diety and the flight. The Stormcatcher, for example, mostly directs state grant money; for all other endeavors, he's more of a figurehead.

+1 FR time!
Each deity is not just a god/goddess, but actual beings. They've been present in my lore. The Arcanist, Shadowbinder, and Lightweaver to be exact. They are all viewed as caring dragons and very loving!

This is all very inspiring. I especially like @Sopheroo and @Darkfrost 's ideas.

My idea of the Icewarden pretty much prevents him from making an appearance, because 1) my clan lives on the opposite end of the Icefield from him and 2) he's very hands-off with his followers. He's basically like, "Okay Ice dragons, I created you, I put you on Sorneith, do what you want; live or die, succeed or fail, it's all on you." I do have a priestess, but she spends most of her time meditating and writing poetry because his religion is so undemanding. You pretty much need to start summoning large fragments of the Shade if you want him to intervene. On the other hand, praying for divine intercession or aid won't help you.

Oh, and the Fortress of Ends? It's a combination prison/museum (it was a prison first; the museum part came when people wanted to study all the interesting nasties held there). Two of my exaltees were shipped there for serial thievery.

My progen, Weeb, is the daughter of two exaltees (which is Not A Thing you do if you're exalted). She knows the Plaguebringer personally and sees her as kind of her aunt, although the two have had 0 real interaction. She's had brief conversations with the Stormcatcher, the Arcanist, and the Lightweaver in her travels, mostly her asking for help with figuring out how to work the laptop she found.

It varies from dragon to dragon in my clan. Most of them believe in the deities in one way or another, though, and see the Shadowbinder (their patron god) as a somewhat benevolent trickster. To my clan they're real, physical beings that live in the deepest parts of their respective territories, though they may occasionally venture elsewhere or visit other beings, whether in their true form or in a disguise. (Though there's a divide over who exactly they may visit. Some believe the rumors that the clan leader is related to the Shadowbinder and that She visits her somehow.)

All in all though they're all seen as strange, even alien, beings closer to eldritch gods than anything else, but they do care for their creations and charges and those under their rule. Their temperaments and such vary as they're all very different, but most believe that they are- maybe not good- but not overly cruel as long as you don't cross or disrespect them. (The clan sees their patron deity as more of a mother figure, though, and tend to refer to her as 'Shadowmother' more often than not.)
