[color=grey]I just thought that since I've been playing this update for less than an hour, that I would provide my honest and thoughtful review. Of course, no review is without the pros and cons, so I will provide those as well. The new art for the dragons is quite stunning. With their 700x700 canvases and new shading, I can make out every little detail on them. I especially enjoy how the genes were redrawn. See, for example, this new dragon of mine. It now majestically matches her [s]tertiary[/s] eyes, whereas before, it only had the normal, white color as is for all pearlcatchers--which was not ideal to her color scheme. Do not hesitate to take a look at the mane, which has been reshaded to utmost perfection. Much better than the art previously, and especially since there are more pixels with which to shade with. As you can tell, I am quite astonished by the brand new shading that is in place. I cannot praise it enough. Take a look at this other one of mine. He is a robot. With this new art, he does--without an accent needed! I also quite like how detailed the feet look--good job on this one. Claws are cool. For some cons, however... I believe she has a blood tertiary, and I also gave her crackle--but it seems to be missing! I am sincerely hoping there will be a fix for this, or maybe it is intentional? In which case, I'm not sure where her tertiary color is actually showing. Can anybody else point it out to me? Maybe I'm just blind. It kind of seems like plastic, and if you look very closely it almost seems like the antlers are close to breaking off. For this one in particular, I suppose he would look good without antlers--but this concerns me for others, who have powerful antlers that are not ready to in fact, break apart. Another con of the websites change, is that the dragons in the scrying workshop seem to show the old low quality dragons. I do not know if this was an oversight or an intentional choice, but to have to convert the old format to the new is really hard without the scrying workshop showing the correct images? Thankfully, I have searched in the auction house and everything seems to be in order there, so that is not an issue. Lastly, one thing I do not agree on is the toggle between HQ and LQ. Why add a toggle like that? It takes more time to code and I highly doubt anybody will use it, and frankly I believe it was a step back. I don't know why everyone wants toggles nowadays, since they take more time to make--not everything can be optional, and you can't please everybody. Nor can you also support all of their old devices and hardware, as that will bog your game down with needless and now unsupported practices. I would suggest that you support only the top of the line hardware, and not ancient video cards. Do you think people still develop for the ancient Windows 95? No. And neither should you. I would like to suggest kindly that you remove it, since these new dragon images are so much better. Phooey on those who think that they should bask in their nostalgic, awful, low quality dragons--this site should only move forward. Stop supporting people who cannot afford top of the line hardware. I guess if anyone else has something to say do say it, and maybe I'll take it into account? I'm just giving my honest opinion at the moment, but perhaps it isn't set in stone. Edit: I needed to clarify a few thoughts. [s][b]Edit 2:[/b] I would like to add more. I have looked into my inventory apparel, and have noticed a new item! It is called "[b]The Emperor's New Clothes[/b]" -- I'm sorry and please I would love if the admins correct me if I am wrong, but is this a possible callback to a WoW item called "[b]The Emperor's New Cape?[/b]" In the game, the cape does not show on your character, which is very reminiscent this new apparel item. I have since been informed that this is the case, I was not aware such a story existed. I could not, however, help but remember the staff have played WoW as well, which is immediately what I drew a conclusion from.
