Najima's my Arcane Rep. Lore-wise, she's the fourth dragon to join the ranks of the Phrontistery's Flight Reps. She's an astronomer who's also quite well versed in other branches of science, and has a bunch of students too.
I've got a massive word document full of lore typed up for her - it's currently nine pages long (eight if you don't count the pictures), and I can't wait to finish it up!

Life happens, but I'm finally back on LwD. It's also my birthday, so today's work will be life a gift for myself hehe. I started to refresh my pinkerlocke lore. I will start my scouts again with a different troop, but they're facing a hard time because the original troop went to the coli and never came back. Rumours started to spread and dragons kept away from the CSS, but a young, fearless Tundra will start a new troop and will seek the lost scouts! I hope I can finish the three main characters today, so that's my goal!

I loved the lore you gave to Canta!! It's beautifully written, and I loved every second of reading! If you don't mind me asking, how do you come up with your ideas? I've been struggling as of late to write, and I thought it might be good to get some tips from another writer![/center]

ghostlyplants awee thank you! I was actually sifting through some troubling thoughts and I had to rewrite Canta's lore at least twice over. I'm glad it was coherent and enjoyable~
As for how I come up with my lore, it's actually a mess of factors I'm pretty chaotic oops... but the biggest help I've had is finding lore that makes me happiest to work on as a base. It's easier to write when you already have an established world. My main lore is a mix of many things but the general world truths in it are pretty simple.
The world is magic, the shade is merely a being that wishes to survive and spread like most other creatures. All you need is a very basic idea and then the thoughts come flowing like a maelstrom! And I use these basic ideas to develop characters. Sure beings are magic, but how do they use this magic?
I look at the names of my dragons or the vibe they give off when I look at them. Canta's name means sing in my heritage language (Spanish!) and I made the connection that Canta channels her magic through song and dance. And then used my headcanons of the shade as a force that creates and upheaval in other dragons' lives. Canta was horrified by it, but such is the life of survival. She keeps moving on even if her own mental state suffers, she must keep moving.
Those basic character traits slowly evolve into a personality, and I used the personalities of my other dragons to influence her in their own ways.
Aaahh, that probably didn't make much sense.
tl;dr I recommend rooting your lore into at least two basic concepts and then slowly develop characters based on those concepts. Sometimes inspiration strikes
