Q. How many colors are being added to the color wheel?
A. The Flight Rising Color Wheel is expanding from 67 colors to 177 colors!
Q. Will new players be able to choose from these colors when creating their custom progenitor?
A. No. To remain fair to all players, the new colors will ONLY be available through the following ways:
- Breeding
- Unhatched Elemental Eggs
- Unhatched Breed-Specific Eggs
- Tri-Color Scatterscrolls
- Clanbound Scatterscrolls
Q. Is the site ready for the impending baby-boom on June 8, 2016?
A. We are aware players are sitting on nests (no pun intended!) and hoarding eggs in anticipation of the expanded color wheel. For a short duration after the release of the expansion we will be disabling dragon search. This feature will be re-enabled once the initial traffic boom from mass-hatching/scrying/trading dies down. Our team will be monitoring the site throughout the day to ensure that gameplay and site browsing continues to perform as smoothly as possible.
Q. Will the new color wheel only apply to nests laid or unhatched eggs collected after June 8, 2016?
A. Hatchling and gene colors are determined when a nest or egg is hatched, not laid. This means any nest or egg hatched on or after June 8, 2016 will pull their colors from the 177 color wheel, regardless of when the nest was laid or egg collected.
Q. When breeding existing pairs, will the center point of the wheel change drastically?
A. An offspring's possible colors will always use the shortest distance between the two parents colors. With 177 colors on the wheel (and Maize connecting to Pearl to loop it back), any distance of 88 or lower is the shortest distance. You can visit the color wheel expansion thread to see a finalized color order.
Q. How are the new colors being added?
A. New colors will go between existing colors on the wheel so that they are in places that make sense for their range. We will not reshuffle the original wheel to keep disruption to a minimum; your ranges will remain close to the same, only expanded.
Example: If you had a Rose to Magenta range, you're not suddenly going to have a green in there. It will be more pinks.

Q. Will the deities’ colors be changed to match the new color wheel?
A. While we have no immediate plans to do so, we certainly wouldn’t rule it out!
Q. When the color wheel is released will it correct some of the coloring errors on different breeds and genes?
A. Yes, it should. Because the current gene images were created by hand, there can be variance from dragon to dragon simply due to human error.
The new coloring tool will handle the coloring of all the genes from an exact pallette of colors, and should not suffer from any "misclicks" that a human artist may produce from time-to-time. Should this process create any errors that our art team can confirm, we will make the necessary fixes.

Q. Will you be making any changes to exalt bonuses with the expanded color wheel?
A. While we don't have any current plans to make changes to exalt bonuses with the new wheel expansion, we’re always evaluating the economic features of our game.
Q. Will the Color Wheel be expanded again?
A. To minimize disruption to any breeding lines and pairs, we have no plans at this time for another expansion.
