The moon hung heavy and pregnant above the misty woods, brambles snarling up every tree trunk, obscuring most of it from view, the ground becoming a lost cause to any traveler wanting safe passage. Small luminous mushrooms peeked out like roses from the brambles, offering sparse pockets of light to you, the nervous dragon. Rounding a corner, you almost exclaim in happiness, as you finally find the Trickmurk Carnival. It was buzzing with activity, vitality and noise, quite startling compared to the deathly silence and gloom of the forest you had moments ago been engulfed in. Shifting forward, you move towards an admissions cart, pay your fee and wander through into the Carnival. It looks manic, dragons swooping everywhere, still putting banners and bunting up, stalls busy prepping. You notice a rather large Guardian in the center square, barking orders and occasionally snapping a mushroom off of the ground and eating it. She seemed important... Wandering up to her, you cough quietly and ask if Trickmurk was ready yet. [color=#2B768F][i]"Ready yet? It's neither ready or unfinished, just go to the stalls and see if they're open. I am Amarante, and yes, I am the Ringleader of this... [i]Carnival[/i]."[/i] [color=#643F9C]The Guardian rumbled, looking down upon you with a look of disdain upon her face. She didn't seem that bothered by you, or in fact the Carnival itself. Mushroom spores clung to her back and every clothing item. Turning, you take a step towards one of the stalls but yelp as Amarante pushes you aside and crouches over something. Looking up she gives you a cold eye before getting back up and moving away hastily. She had been crouching over a bundle of bright blue mushrooms... You guess they were important and made your way carefully towards the stalls, making sure not to step on any mushrooms that may be in your way... A few dragons milled about, large crates labeled 'Prizes' slowly being unpacked, exposing to a few bystanders the wide array they would be able to get their paws on if they paid. Of course. Amarante entered through a side flap then, carrying a large box that was glowing. Setting it down, she opened the lid to reveal... Mushrooms...? Intrigued, you take a gander at each stall, some set up more than others, wondering if you should try you hand at these competitions. Again, you see Amarante stride up, seemingly dragging a few dragons behind her and plonking them by a stall dubbed 'Writing Contest'. The stall was a mess, the dragons confused and Amarante looking more than a little grumpy over this affair. Riddles![/b][/size][/font][/color] [color=#2B768F] [color=#643F9C] Moving onwards, you walk alongside a boulevard of garish tents, many of the hosters caterwauling out to the public to try a hand at their games and contests; one or two had the audacity to have small posters proclaiming that the 'stall isn't rigged at all!!' Deciding to give [i]those[/i] games a skirt, you settle at a few and try your hand at them. A small scuffle brought your attention to the fact that Amarante was quickly grabbing the posters off of stalls and burning them before giving the owners a rather stern talking to. Some followed a tiny path of wisps out into the undergrowth, presumably towards another game. A breeze from behind startled you; Amarante had wandered over to the stalls and conversed quietly with the dragons gathered there. She seemed to strike a deal with one, handing over some silken cloth in exchange for some mushrooms.
