INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Beastclans and Bogsneaks, a variant of real D&D (B&B, if you will) which is designed to fit into the lore and world of Flight Rising! With credit for the genre, of course, to the one and only WoTC. Turn over your fate, power, and success to a 20-sided die, and allow probability to deal your hand.
Much like the real tabletop roleplaying game, your dragon will be able to play as one of the available races of Beastclan (unless you'd like to play Homebrew and go it as a Fiendcat or something, then go for it), which includes the sentient races such as Talonok, Harpies, and Longneck. Their characters will embark on magical quests, slay creatures that would seem mildly easy to your dragon players in reality, and reap all the rewards an adventure has to offer!
I would suggest using websites such as Roll20 for dice.
I am about to explain the basics of playing D&D, in terms of Beastclans and Bogsneaks. If you already know how to play, then you may skip this.
ABILITY SCORES
B&B has six basic statistics:
STRENGTH (Str)
Strength is the "attack" score and demonstrates physical actions. Want to punch something, or fling a chair high into the air for some reason? Probably use Strength, unless for some reason flinging a chair involves using Magic Missile.
DEXTERITY (Dex)
Dexterity is the ability score measuring agility, grace, and precision. Some classes are situationally able to use their Dexterity statistic in place of Strength, which would be beneficial if it increased their bonus multiplier. Dexterity determines whether you're able to sneak around that corner, pickpocket someone's wallet, or balance on a precarious ledge.
CONSTITUTION (Con)
Constitution is considered the statistic of stamina and health-- it's a measure of how "hearty" your character is, as some put it. For example, it might allow a creature to endure cold temperatures or conditions that would otherwise be harmful to them.
INTELLIGENCE (Int)
Intelligence is considered the "true knowledge" statistic; it is book-smart, obtained by using logical reasoning or education and derived from the scholarly memory of a creature. Creatures might use Intelligence to solve a complicated puzzle, discern a trap, decipher a code or language, etc. Intelligence is commonly used for casting magic, though it shares this role with Wisdom, its similar cousin. (Reasoning skill)
WISDOM (Wis)
Wisdom can be difficult for new players to tell apart from Intelligence, but they are quite different ability scores. Wisdom is an intuitive skill that enables creatures to assess social scenarios, offer insight to their fellow players, perceive unknown threats, etc. Wisdom is to know without solid evidence. It is instinctual and thus is used by classes with fighting styles based on emotion and experience.
CHARISMA (Cha)
Charisma is the ability score of influence, manipulation, and charm. It enables characters to talk their way out of difficult situations, persuade their enemies, or seduce their opponents.
The ability scores of your character can be randomly determined by rolling a d20 for each stat individually. You can also arrange six standard numbers, using them once in each slot: (8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15)
Depending on how large the numbers are for your character in each individual stat, they will receive a modifier. (I encourage you to research a modifier chart) This modifier will be added to checks throughout the game.
Each ability score has a subset of Skills (Religion, Nature, Intimidation, Animal Handling, Acrobatics, etc) which a character can be proficient in.
There are also some important statistics known as Armor Class (AC) and Passive Wisdom (Perception). Armor Class is calculated by adding the character's Dexterity modifier to a base number of 10 and factoring in any other numbers that might influence AC (such as armor or racial bonus). Passive Wisdom is calculated by adding the character's Wisdom modifier to a base number of 10, as well as any other applicable modifiers/bonuses.
-------
There is also another important component to BnB called the "spell slot." As your level as a magic user increases, you will unlock more of these. This is a very confusing aspect of gameplay to new players so pay attention.
Creatures that can channel magic start with a limited number of spells called Cantrips, which can be used indefinitely and without limit at any time. At base level, the spellcaster can also choose any spell from a pool of spells that their class or race knows at Level 1. Spell slots serve as a limited number.
Basically, you have a limited number of spells to use per long rest. Spell slots should really be read as “maximum number of spells that I can use every day” and each time you use a spell, you have less and less slots at your disposal, until you run out. Players who use all their spell slots cannot use any magic spells except for their Cantrips until the next time they rest.
HOW TO PLAY
For those who don't know how to play, the rules are simple. Here's a step by step:

1. Find a party. It's difficult (and exponentially less fun) to play B&B alone.

2. Learn the Dungeon Master and their rules. The Dungeon Master is the player in charge of your game session, and will be influencing details such as setting, plot, enemies, etc. If playing as the DM, this merely requires imagination and general knowledge of combat/game mechanics. I suggest using the Player's Handbook by Wizards of the Coast, since B&B has the same functions, but with a different coat of paint, if you will. Being a DM can be difficult sometimes, but you get to push the story in directions that the players twist into something interesting!
Some necessary game components for a first-time DM include:
CHARACTER SHEETS
It is a good idea to keep a copy of other players' character sheets with you and discuss aspects of who they're playing. Understanding the party helps you engage with the story.
WALKING ORDER AND INITIATIVE
During the journey, it might be important for players to organize themselves in a walking formation. Dungeon Masters can call upon them to strategically arrange themselves. Players also roll Initiative, which determines who goes first in battle, or when making an action out of combat that might require an order of turns.
ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGE
With advantage, a player can roll the d20 twice and choose the higher of the two numbers rolled. With disadvantage, the player has to choose the lower value.
SURPRISE
When a character surprises another creature, they have to make a Dexterity check in the "Stealth" skill. If it exceeds the creature's Passive Perception (a special kind of Wisdom), they can sneak up on and ambush that creature. This cannot apply if they can directly see you!
RESISTANCE/VULNERABILITY
If a creature has resistance or vulnerability to a certain kind of damage, it will either deal half damage or 2x damage respectively.
COMBAT
Each monster in the game has a statblock, which tells the DM its Armor Class, modifiers, health, how much damage it can deal, what variety of attacks it can use, and its statistics in the six Ability Scores. Using statblocks will make your world infinitely easier-- even homebrew (read: a custom made campaign that doesn't always follow the exact rules) uses them more often than not. Many statblocks are available online-- I recommend the wiki as a valid source, since it has little to no limitations on content between books.
Use the resources of your players to your advantage!
PLAYSTYLE
The key to unlocking playstyle is by knowing your players, and this can take some time! It is important to assess whether an experience is enjoyable for your party and to take note of what the game should focus more on-- does everyone like combat? Quests? Character development? The game will need balance.
AND... CREATIVITY!
Although it is recommended to use published campaigns during a first game.
I could go on and on about basic rules, but if you still are unsure how BnB works, you might want to do your own research.

3.Roleplay as your character.
In this case, roleplay as your dragon character roleplaying as THEIR character. Makes sense, right?

ADDITIONAL NOTES

If your class and race share proficiencies in a weapon, armor type, and/or advantage, the proficiencies DO NOT stack.

Dryads are a comparatively young race that emerged from the trees during the Third Age. There are legends that Dryads existed long before Gladekeeper ever gripped the springing of life in her talons and called it her own-- that the people of the trees were the plant's soul given humanoid form and sleeping inanimate within all life, merely awakened from their slumbering during the Second Age and given the power to walk the earth by the goddess of Nature sometime during the Third.
Dryads are known by other races to be enthralled by perspective, and consider the world from the views of others around them. Typically unfocused, they can become wonderful philosophers and are emotionally intelligent individuals. The Dryads' culture centers on the power of the seasons, and theologically, Dryads are especially enchanted by the idea of sleep or hibernal stasis. Because of this, they have many dream gods and goddesses, and practice thousands of seasonal holidays. They have a deathly fear of reverting to their tree forms forever, and as such, believe they must carry a piece of nature everywhere with them. This includes objects such as tree branches, dead wood, or floral growths.
Alignment. Dryads are behaviorally capricious, and are known to favor the Chaotic alignment.
Age. Dryads are rumored to be able to live indefinitely, but they can only live several hundred years-- three hundred at most. Being gifted with mortal form has taken a toll on their arboreal longevity.
Size. Dryads range in size depending on their species of tree, but most are only slightly taller than the average humanoid. Your height is Medium.
Speed. Dryads are on the sluggish end of the spectrum and many struggle with the plant to which they are bound. Your speed is 20 feet.
Languages. As a Dryad, you can speak Common Bestial, Druidic, and Sylvan.
SPECIAL ABILITIES
Germinate. Once every long rest, you may assume the form of vegetation ranging from Small to Large size--a species which would not otherwise be sentient, such as a shrubbery or a birch tree-- for up to an hour. This state is not regenerative and functions similarly to stasis; it provides immunities to Psychic damage and prevents the user from being frightened, put to sleep, or charmed. This action usually lasts for the full duration of its effects, renders the user immovable, and immediately Petrifies the user.
Extended Gift. Starting at first level, you get one free use of the spell Suit of Arbor (per short rest), which causes growths of bark and ivy to bind to the target and prevents that creature's armor class from dropping below 16.
Starting at 7th level, the Dryad gets one free use (per long rest) of Animistic Word, which gives any plant or animal--with an Intelligence score below 5-- the ability to speak, increasing its intelligence score to at least 8.
Skill Proficiencies. You are proficient with the Skills Nature and Medicine.
Combat Proficiencies. You are proficient with Simple weapons and resistant to piercing damage.

DRYADS
x
STR ???????? DEX ???????? CON ????????
INT ???????? WIS [+3 Racial Bonus] CHA ????????
SPECIAL ABILITIES Germinate.
Though most Longnecks take up tools of the land, some seek higher forms of learning, opting to lead intellectually.
