Relieved, Sylphie follows Valena and Conrad to the exit. That was quite the adventure and while she had plenty of fun (and quite a few scares), the Skydancer is more than happy to go home. She'll have to tell the rest of the clan about the tour!

Ah well. XD I'll just assume Sheila got lost in the confusion. So here goes...] The ceiling continued to rumble ominously as Sheila started moving again. She was starting to panic, which was unusual for her. But these caves were completely unfamiliar to her, and in her haste, she ended up getting completely lost. Some time passed before Sheila finally spotted a light up ahead. Upon approaching it, though, she found that she'd just discovered another way back towards the exit she'd discovered earlier! She'd completely lost the tour group, and she felt a bit miserable about that. She had no time to ponder this, however, as the rumbling still went on, dislodging a mass of rocks from the ceiling and sending Sheila tumbling over the edge into the water below. Fortunately, the Ridgeback was strong and capable of Earth magic, so she was able to free herself without taking too much damage. Sheila looked back up to see that the exit had collapsed behind her. There would be no going back now. Swimming over towards a nearby beach, the Ridgeback flopped down onto it, exhausted and a bit frustrated with herself. She was an Earth dragon- how had she let a few rumbling caverns scare her like this? Maybe she'd spent too much time above ground lately, and she resolved to remedy this once she returned to the Starfall Isles with the rest of her clan. For now, though, all she could do was just lay down there on the beach, listening to the waves rolling in. Hopefully someone else would rescue Valena and the missing tour group- maybe, just maybe, the Earthshaker would smile upon them this one time and guide them to safety. And with that, the Ridgeback slowly drifted off to sleep, where she'd stay until the rest of her clan found her to take her back home once the festival was over. [@Tyeth- Thanks for hosting this event! It was a lot of fun! Can I see Sheila's final health, please?]

The ceiling continued to rumble ominously as Sheila started moving again.

Even with all of her swimming experience, she knew she wouldn't have made it out of that river in one piece if it hadn't been for Valena and the rope. But who cared? Ara was free. She flopped down on the sunny shore with a happy sigh. When she got home, she was going to invent a device that could help the user swim through rough currents. Or a search-and-rescue robot that could traverse collapsed caves. Or both. Both sounded good. But right now, Ara was happy to just rest. They were out.

Though he didn't appreciate all the fuss over his wing (and being called 'sugar cube' and 'dearie' really just added insult to his already pretty sore injuries), he was nonetheless glad to have a healer take a look at it before he went another step towards the exit. As he and Conrad had ventured back through the caves, the pain radiating from his wing had only got worse, and as he got more tired, the metal plates had started to dig into the sensitive flesh. However, the moment the healers began to work their magic, the pain eased and though the armour remained uncomfortable, it was no longer debilitating. He wouldn't be flying anywhere any time soon, but at least he would be able to make it back to the surface - and back home - without collapsing in agony. He was also glad to hear that the others had made it out, and that leaving the caves wasn't going to involve any swimming - obviously, since Valena and their other rescuers were clearly bone-dry. "Jarvis," Stark said in a soft voice as the healers finally moved away and started to lead the way out of the cave. "Remind me in future: no caves." "I'll make a note, sir," Jarvis promised.

@Firra, hey, I had been playing and submitting my answers regularly, but a day or so after reaching the underground river I stopped being pinged? I submitted my response the day before like normal but I wasn't notified and I'm a little bummed out to find out that I missed the rest of the adventure? I've been on vacation so I haven't been able to check back a lot, so the pings were mainly what enabled me to keep up ;;

He was stuck, as it were, a slave to the currents and the slow moving queue. He wouldn't have minded much, if the opposing forces weren't so agonizing. And then someone fell in. Xen was certain he had never experience drowning before, so if nothing else this was new. Still, he was fairly certain he was drowning. He wished he had just come with Vaizel or someone larger; it would have given him a chance to hitch a ride rather than...well...drown. The burn of the rope around his midsection did not help the ordeal. And then it was quiet. Somewhere along the way the rope was severed, and Xen burst out of the water and paddled to shore. His limbs ached. There would be no going back to the Plateau like this; not on his own. He wouldn't make it. Not to mention, with the beastclan and other creatures between here and there? He'd be lucky to lose a limb like his father. He should have taken the Bear. He was a fool to rush. Still, as with every year before, he could at least say that he was alive. Xen lay on his back on the beach and tried to just breathe. For now they were okay. They weren't attacked by Maren. They didn't have to fight giant robots. He did wonder, just what caused that initial disturbance, but he had sacrificed curiosity for safety and this time he was very glad he did. After all, it meant he would be able to come back next year.

I suppose it doesn't hurt to take a quick look. Though sound can carry quite far in the caves.' Conrad gave the little Noc a friendly pat on the apparently offered back, and turned to return to the cave. Once there, Sakhalin paused for two seconds to let Conrad take the lead, keeping out of the way as he marked the floor with blue glowing lines. Conrad gave her an odd look as she shifted to where he had only just decided to mark, at one point, causing her to duck sheepishly. Overall, however, progress down the tunnel was good, until Conrad realised he had no idea where they actually were. Sakhalin moved into position just behind his tail. 'I don't recognize this place at all, and the rock is different here,' Conrad said, worry evident on his voice. 'When Valena and I did our initial explorations, this wasn't here. Stay close.' But, about two minutes later, Sakhalin broke into a run and quickly overtook him. He picked his own pace, only to realise she had probably heard something he didn't. 'Valena!' Sakhalin shouted as she caught sight of the Snapper in question. Said Snapper turned her head, and her eyes widened. 'Sakhalin, isn't it? Where's- CONRAD!' The Ridgeback had caught up, and Sakhalin stepped towards one of the rescue workers as Valena continued. 'I thought something terrible happened when I heard you hadn't come out yet. Oh,' she switched to Sakhalin and began herding Sakhalin in the direction said Noc was already going. 'Let's see to those injuries of yours, dearie.' Conrad looked around in confusion. 'Wherever did the others go? 'They're already on the surface, I just came back to find you two,' she called over her shoulder at him, amused. 'AHA! Then, I assume you know of an exit that doesn't involve-' he shuddered dramatically, '-swimming.' It was amidst laughter at the unfortunate Ridgie that the new party retraced the rescuers' steps until they reached the surface, where the other unfortunate civilians who had taken the tour like Sakhalin were waiting. Sakhalin's wing was indeed simply sprained, although flying back to her clan would be an issue at the moment. Thankfully, one of the medics tending to those on the surface was an EMT that Sakhalin recognised. 'Andromeda?' was the question directed at the Wildclaw in question. Said pink Wildclaw nodded. 'I imagine you need a lift?' 'I'd appreciate it. But I have a little unfinished business here.' 'I find that hard to believe. You did get almost caved in, by all accounts.' 'That actually is the unfinished business. I signed up for this believing it would be an informative tour that would not just be an exploration of these caves but also would provide explanations for certain features of. And, indeed, it did begin like that. But-' Andromeda face-clawed. You didn't have to be a seer to know what was coming, as the nocturne continued. 'Things rapidly turned into a very dangerous trek to escape an unforeseen cave-in. Besides the obvious lack of an established safety procedure in such an event, this was absolutely not what I signed up for. Therefore,' Sakhalin drew herself up to her full, but unimpressive, height. 'I need to know who I speak to to get my money back.' (She doesn't get her money back. :P Andromeda is a WC from my own lair, which is not terribly far away in my clan lore.)
