Baldr listened as Dawn explained that the delivery system was divided into two aisles, and that the spirals and faes dealt with small packages of glitter which were normally used for panks. Just as she mentioned that the most common prank was dumping glitter over someone, the fae and spirals seated along the aisle rose to their feet and did just that - the boxes and sacks of glitter dispensing their flakes all over Dawn, Baldr, and every other dragoon who had ventured after her down the aisle.
For a moment, all Baldr could see was glitter - it was in his ears, in his eyes, in his
mouth - and the world was a mass of gold and white, full of the sound of laughter from the pranksters and the tour members in the other aisle.
Baldr raised his claws and carefully brushed off his face. When the worst was gone, he blinked down at his normally blue scales, to find that the glitter had stuck, leaving a crust of gold! He laughed, but as Dawn grumbled about Winterfang's prank and talked about the energy-based roof which allowed dragons in and out but kept the weather at bay, he tried to surreptitiously remove as much of the glitter as possible.
The tour group was now leaving behind them a trail of glitter as they moved out of the warehouse and into another lift, which took them down to the Teleport Transport floor. Baldr was intrigued to see that this room, though similar to the one upstairs, was lined with blue and yellow crystals, interspersed with red.
The tour was welcomed by a Pearlcatcher called Duke, one of the supervisors, who offered a demonstration of the work done on this floor. As he listened to the explanation of the yellow and blue crystals as scrying tools, and the red crystals for communication, he wondered how skilled the dragons working on this floor must be in order to control the magic involved, and how long it took to learn. He also wondered if it was something only Light dragons were capable of, or if an Arcane dragon like himself could learn.
He hurried forward with the rest of the group to watch Duke's demonstration,
keeping his eyes on the blue crystal - he was sure they would eventually see what was in the vault as part of the tour, and he would rather see where the Glittervault was going to be sending its latest package - and hopefully the reactions of the dragons who received it.
