Hello, and welcome to Lost At Sea. This thread is where players may debate which direction to take and who is cursed.
For every two dead players, one cryptid role will be revealed.
PRIVATEER ROLES:
The Privateers are the equivalent of the Town. Their wincon is to sail to the place on the map called WINCON.
Captain – The Captain’s sailing-direction vote accounts for 5 normal player votes. The Captain also has advantage on all saving throws against being killed. If the Captain is killed, the First Mate takes their place instead.
First Mate – The First Mate’s vote accounts for 3 normal player votes. They take the place of the Captain if the Captain is killed.
Quartermaster – Once three days, the Quartermaster may override any direction votes with their own.
Sailing Master – The Sailing Master may receive one riddle every two in-game days that, when correctly solved, will push the players in the direction they need to go.
Boatswain – The Boatswain can repair the ship every three days. During this time, the ship sails 3 tiles instead of 2.
Surgeon – The Surgeon can choose to protect one player from being killed.
Master Gunner – Once per two nights, the Gunner may choose to brace the ship for attacks. During this time, any encounter with pirates is automatically won without losses for the Privateers.
Rigger – Once per two days, the Rigger may force the ship to go one tile in a random direction (as long as it’s towards a tile that offers help).
Able-Bodied Soldier – Vanilla townies. Any players who do not receive a power role get this role.
CRYPTIDS
Neutral roles. They PM the GM with whatever side they choose to take, and that side's wincon becomes theirs.
There are four cryptid roles. One has been revealed.
Selkie – This player disguises themselves as a vanilla townie. Once per day, they may choose to give privateers a hint either towards a Seaport or towards the Volcano, their choice.
CURSED
Cult equivalent. Their wincon is to make up half of the game's population. However, they cannot convert the cryptids.
Cursed - This sailor has been cursed with the mermaid's touch. Once per day, they may 'infect' one player, making them a cursed fledgling.
Cursed Fledgling - Cursed by their superior, the fledgling has no actions. When the Cursed dies, the first Cursed Fledgling to be turned will take their place. This only happens once.
