Now, one would think such a curse wouldn’t be much of a problem and perhaps viewed as a blessing. Although, when it came to Spice’s life that wasn’t the case. Spice’s parents, Tang and Poprocks, were the king and queen of a vast territory in the Wispwillow Grove so they needed their daughter to be able to marry and have children in order to forge an alliance that could advance their power. However, Spice’s curse complicated things quite a bit. The curse made it so their daughter would [i]have[/i] to love whoever they picked for her. The parents also had to make sure that Spice didn’t fall in love with some common male or—worser yet—a [i]female[/i] dragon. In order to ensure their child didn’t fall in love with the wrong dragon, they only hired straight female guards, servants and healers to tend to their daughter and forbid her from ever leaving their castle. They also kept their daughter on a very strict curfew that ensured she’d be in her rooms by seven o’clock each night. The only males Spice ever got a chance to interact with were ones that her parents had handpicked to be of royal blood. However, Spice didn’t love any of the males that had been planted in her life, not when their only goal was to manipulate her into loving them long enough to bring about a few hatchlings. The males never seemed to care about the cuts Spice had inflicted upon herself or just how lonely she truly was either. They only cared about power and Spice hated them all for it. Although, Spice hated herself most of all and her self-hate ran so deep that she planned to take her life on the night before her nineteenth birthday. The ridgeback would have followed through with her plan too if that spiral dragon hadn’t jumped her, thrown a sack over her head and dragged her out of the castle... [/columns] [columns] [b]His lore:[/b] Pumpkin hated King Tang and Queen Poprocks with every fiber of his being. The king and queen had hung his best friend because he had spoke out about how they discriminated against male dragons and LGBTQ+ dragons within their castle. The loss of his friend had shattered Pumpkin and made him into the bitter dragon who hardly fit his own name. He had wanted to hate their daughter and crown princess, Spice, too, but that wasn’t as easy as he had thought. Pumpkin had kidnapped Spice and planned to hold her for ransom. Once he obtained his desired sum of treasure and gems from the royal family, he planned to give all of it to the rebels, who were dead set on overthrowing their rulers, and fight along side them once their army was ready. The only problem with that plan was that Pumpkin didn’t want to send Spice back to that castle. Not after he had seen the cuts on her arms and her joyless violet eyes. Every dragon in that gods forsaken place had treated her like a pawn and convinced her that her life was worth nothing more than a dried-up worm the sidewalk. They hadn’t told her that had she had the biggest heart in the whole darn world and that she was one of the best listeners he had ever known. They hadn’t told her that the sight of her toothy smile could light up an entire room or how the sound of her whistle had the most beautiful tune. They hadn’t even bothered say ‘I love you’ to her. Pumpkin hated them all for hurting Spice and was intent with idea of murdering the king and queen where they slept, but Spice, of all dragons, convinced him not to. She told the spiral that she didn’t care about her parents. She told him that only thing in all of Sornieth that mattered to her was him. Then, she said that she loved him. Loved [i]him[/i]. With tears in his eyes, Pumpkin pressed his forehead against Spice’s and told her that he loved her too. The spiral silently swore that he’d remind the ridgeback of that every single until his death. Once those words had been exchanged, the two lovebirds took to the skies and set out to find a place far away from the reaches of King Tang and Queen Poprocks. A place where the only thing that would matter was that they where together.
