Tikal paced back and forth, trying think of what she shoud do with a pile of sticky notes, now that all the tape was gone. She didn't thonk they qere as useful- in other words, havoc-wrecking,- as the 'Duck Tape' but she was still determined to get her revenge on Evanna. Of course, no prank is tolerated wthout another prank! houghts of a chaotic but fun prank war were making her feel fddy with excitement, but she did not know exactly what she wanted to do. Maybe she sould seek a partner in crime? Ah, yes. That would be good.
Running on the boardwalks beteween the clan's neumerous treehouses, she located the Ridgeback, Jinx, well known for being clumsy and awkward. But still, better than ontohing. Ater last night's incident, nearly everyone had been alerted of Tikal's prank, except for Jinx.
"Hey! Do you want me to work with me on a super-secret awesome project?" she sqeaaled as she hovered outsdie his lair.
A spiked nose, wearing a rather unfitting butterfly mask, emerged from the treehouse. "W-what?" he said as he almost fell over on his doorstep.
"Our super-secret awesomeness project!" Tikal said, yet louder. "Wanna do it with me?"
Jinx gave her a weary glance and said, "Um, sure." And off they went, on the prowl for their first victim.
"So, this is what we have to do." Tikal said. "First, you sneak up to an unsuspecting dragon. Like a NINJA! Then, you slap this note on a dragon's back, or neck, or tail, or whatever, and BOOM! Objective complete." Meanwhile, Jinx laid on the ground, seemingly enjoying his lazy time, but not Tikal's blabbering. His eyes glazed over in boredom and shyness.
"Oh, come on!" Tikal jumped in front of him. "You know what our favourite crazy Mirror would say about you? Slacker with no spark! Hehe, you get what I mean? Like-
Jinx suddenly cut her off. "Alright then, I'll do it," he sighed. "Who is the crazy Mirror again, by the way? Remind me again.
Tikal's bright yellow eyes opened wide. "You REALLY don't know about Zodzog?! Woah, stop living under a rock!" With that, she sped off, hyped for her prank. She would show Jinx the world over the rocks later.
"Please- slow down!" Jinx yelled, just as slid into a puddle and landed right on his clumsy butt. Tikal, however, took no notice. This prank was going ahead, no matter what.
As usual, two birdskull-donning dragons were conversing on the hill where they liked to hang out. Well, at least usual in this clan. Such friendships between flights would probably be frowned upon, and punished in other clans. Most of the time, Tikal couldn't understand their nerdy conversations, which is exactly why her best friend and one of her other friends were perfect targets. They would simply too engaged in the conversaton to notice anything else.
The Coatl handed a large sticky note with a big, bold ''B' on it to Jinx, and he looked down in slight confusion.
"What's this for?" he asked.
"Something similar to the butterflies fluttering around you." Tikal, said grinning. "Also starts with-"
"Bees?!" Jinx said, the first note of genuine interest coming from him. "Well, the Mirror who you said is crazy and his weird mate are going to be surprised , arent they?" he said rather too loudly.
"Uhhhhh- Evanna is not his mate." Tikal whispered. "You know, just friends-"
"Oh, oh sorry!" Jinx said, flicking his wings. "Sorry about that."
Tikal looked up at him. "Remember, you're the one doing this."
Jinx nodded and said, "I'm ready."
Jinx slinked up to the pair, his eyes set on Evanna. "Do it to Evanna," Tikal had reminded him. "She deserves it."
Quickly, Jinx stuck the 'B'note on her neck, and ran off like an elephant back down the hill.
"No, no!" Tikal said actually way too loudly this time. "Stay up there! Tell Evanna she's got a bee on her, and it's going to sting her!" But Tikal could already see Evanna's eyes widening, looking at her. Woops. At least she hadn't spotted the bee yet.
"That's the second time I have to say sorry this afternoon!" Jinx huffed. "You trying to get me into trouble?"
Tikal did a terrible job of trying to look innocent."Uh- no. Just trying to have fun! Um, um, please go back up that hill-"
The Ridgeback sprinted back up the hill and almost lost his voice saying, "BEE! THERE'S A BEE ON YOU!"
The other pair simply stared at him. Obviously not their desired result.
"We- we couldn't find any bee, said Evanna. "I don't understand what you're trying to do."
However, Jinx noticed an actual insect, a butterfly resting right on top of the 'B' note, and Tikal came up to investigate.
"It looks like Jinx's butterflies like you!" The prank had not exactly succeeded, but Tikal was grinning from ear to ear. If Coatls had ears. . .
