TOPIC | Make Me Write Lore!!!
1 2 3
I have 100 dragons in my lair, and 58 of them don't have lore.

This is quite the problem for me because I pride myself on my writing ability. I mean. It's in my name, for crying out loud.

I know what the story is for most of these dragons, but not all of them. Even so, there's so many of them that I don't really know where to start in writing everyone's lore down, so I'm asking for help in choosing who to write lore for next.

Mind helping me pick?

Escherion
The Chaotic Mage
Proud | Sadistic | Uncaring
Escherion is mesmerizingly beautiful for a dragon, and not only because of hypnotic patterns. He seems more like a perfect painting of a dragon rather than a real creature of flesh and blood. Because he is.

Having swapped places with his creator, a more drab-looking drake also named Escherion that had been trying to create his idealized self in portrait form, Escherion showed up to the clan one day with 13 strange other not-dragons and simply never left. Though under no threat of washing away in the rain, he covers as much of himself up as possible so as not to sully his gorgeous form with filth from the outside world.

Escherion is obsessed with the concept of inversion. A cloud raining up instead of down, a plant blossoming in the earth while its roots sway in the wind, a dragon walking around with their insides on the outsides—these things delight him like no other. He serves the clan mainly as a cursebreaker and a researcher of magic, always eager to find new ways to unravel the mysterious of the world. Unfortunately for the clan, he does very good work, so they have little choice but to tolerate him for now.

Not a purveyor of oddities like Cysero, or a wanderer like Blade, a specialist like Lugosi, a hobbyist like Tannim or whatever Dage is when not raising the dead. He's a simple drake, maintaining his forge with simple tools and crafting whatever it is he can to aid the clan's day-to-day activities. A wheel needs a new axle? Yulgar's already making a replacement. A warrior's armor gets dented? No problem, that's what Yulgar has buffers for. With such strange things that can happen within the territory at any given time, it's easy to forget about the every day mundane things that happen alongside them. Not that this bothers Yulgar any. Occasionally, he does wonder if maybe he should pack up his tools and hand the forge over to whoever could make the most use out of it. Maybe start up an inn near the border for travelers to rest in on their way through the Sunbeam Ruins. His daughter Aria would certainly enjoy having a much quieter life without the constant hammering from the smithy echoing through their den.

@Tempestral
Sek-Duat
The Sun King
Cold | Calculating | Deceased
The great Sun King ruled over ancient lands in the Shifting Expanse with a claw as cold as the gold he adorned himself with. His rule was harsh, but he saw it as fair, and over the many years of his reign, his land flourished into a great empire. He had many heirs to pass his kingdom on to when he died, each less suitable to succeed him than the last. At first, Sek-Duat despaired the future of his kingdom. But then an idea came to him: if his children were so incompetent, why did he need to pass his throne on at all? Why couldn't he simply rule his land forever as he saw fit? Surely it was possible—all he would need to do was find a way to cheat death.

His rule grew harsher as the aging king called on various mages and scholars in his search for a means of prolonging his life. No rumor was too outlandish. No miracle treatment was too far-fetched. He emptied his coffers to fund his search for eternal life, and taxed his people into oblivion to make up for the deficit. Luckily, or perhaps unluckily for Sek-Duat, there was another great king in that time seeking to expand his reign beyond what any had done before him, and the ambitious skydancer had already figured out how to bend mortality to his will...

Aria
The Familiar Tamer
Forgetful | Perky | Kindhearted
Let's face it: familiars are a wide and varied bunch that can be very confusing (or outright dangerous) to deal with. How are you going to teach your manticore to roll over? How are you going to litter train a disoriented spirit? That's where Aria comes in.

Aria learned the basics of familiar wrangling from her grandmother, though she's since expanded her field of knowledge to cover just about any problem that the clan might have with their non-draconic followers. From helping unruly pets take their medicine when they get sick to creating training regiments in order to make bringing your familiar on a hunt with you more effective, if given enough time and information there's little that Aria can't work out.

In the day to day, she mostly manages getting whatever creatures that have wandered into clan territory in ship enough shape to sell to wandering collectors, or feeding and bonding with whatever clan familiars that the other dragons can't always take care of. By necessity, her lair is the biggest and most ventilated. Especially in the summertime...
