The creak and rumble of wagons, dust kicked up by a hundred ambling feet, bright calls and songs to keep time - Aithemis has always called a traveling caravan home. At his parents' side he learned the art of buying and selling: picking up materials here, trinkets there; the careful balance between discounts and upcharges; how to haggle so that customers felt they got the better deal every time. He was good at it - his voice carried easily, and his small frame let him clamber up the wagon, waving high above the crowd to call attention to their wares.
Still, with all the challenges and trials of the roads, he grew bored. Their group looped endlessly around the Sunbeam Ruins, sometimes skirting tantalizingly close to the Tangled Wood or the Shifting Expanse, but never quite making it there. Too risky, was the caravan leaders' assessment. Unfamiliar terrain, unknown markets. We're better off here. Unsatisfied with that answer, Aithemis took his wagon and left. Traveling alone was dangerous, but so was the boredom that sucked the joy from each and every day.
Setting off for the Shifting Expanse, Aithemis was thrilled at first - but as familiar plains turned to endless rolling dunes, and his voice was swallowed up in the barren winds, he doubted. He had never been alone before, not like this. And soon he suspected he was terribly lost, his casks of water growing heartstoppingly light, his borans plodding slower and slower...
When he woke, he was in a tidy infirmary, high sandstone walls visible through the window. "You gave us quite a scare," a soft voice came from the doorway. Aithemis blinked, and he elaborated, "We don't usually get merchants in these parts. And for good reason." As exhausted as Aithemis still was, his eyes lit with excitement. Lesson number one for a merchant: An untapped market is an almost-unheard of opportunity. Aithemis was determined to seize it.

Lymidai and her brother Ragixou! Lymidai is older and has much more experience, but he's learning quickly. Lymidai has a good eye for value and Ragixou is already becoming a great haggler.

So this is Karasu, who goes around to different clans selling Sornieth's equivalent of Girl Scout cookies. Unfortunately he goes about it in the shadiest way possible, whispering from dark alleyways for the lolz. He isn't very successful.
