A while back my father, Dash, started a tradition of learning and recording other flights lore. Each festival he would set up his booth and welcome anyone in or of the celebrating flight to come share their stories. I’m here to continue in his footsteps, so I welcome any and all that would like to share their stories about the Ice Flight. Please don’t be shy. This is so exciting! I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone. @Azurenight New dragons this year! Kenobi! Yes the blatant Star Wars fan dragon. She's one fo the teachers alongside her mate Skywalker. Studious vestments seem to work quite well in place of jedi robes. She might have bust her mate and Guardian out of beastclan slavery but shhh they don't talk about it. I bought him while looking for stained dragons and and ended up dressing him dark clothes and slapped the ice apparel on him to match. As such there's little I've decided for her but gosh she's pretty.

Mzinchaleft arrived once more at Casey's booth, sighing as he rested his blue feet on the cold, snowy ground. He seemed a bit miffed at the frosty substance.

"Dear Eleven, I am not fond of this stuff. I live in the Floodplains, not Wintersfall…"

Guess he still finds it chilly, despite being an Ice dragon.
He looked up at Casey with a small smile.

"It's nice to see you again. My, it's been a while, hasn't it? I come bearing my own story for you this time - after all, I am a child of the ice."

He settled on carpeted square, curling his feet under him to warm them back up. Once he stilled, he opened his mouth and began his tale.

"My hatchling days are lost to the haze of my memories, but I'm certain I lived a fairly average life growing up. Of course, I was blind - being blind in a tundra doesn't really change much anyway, though. Everything's bright and white, regardless of what it is.

He paused, gesturing to his pale blue eyes. A black, almost tarry substance dripped from them, and from the scales down his neck.

Mzinchaleft conjured a picture of Cielo with a masterful array of ice crystals, glimmering in shades of blue like the dragon they were depicting.

"Young to this world, and childish in the best of terms, his soul traveled here from a place far away from Sornieth. Campo del Cielo, that's what he declared himself to be when I found him."

The male closed his eyes, and if one looked closely, a small tear leaked from one eye.

@Azurenight Not sure how long it should be, but how about this: "Your lore really broke the ice! It gave me the chills, and I was just frozen in awe!" I'll also share two of my ice lore dragons with your Casey! First, this is Brume. All she wanted to do was be a good guardian and stay positive, but fate seems to be against her... She's not particularly good at what she wants to do. Vitiligo lost her family when she was very young, and has no idea when she was born or where she came from. She had to fend for herself for as long as she can remember. She thinks that she's been cursed by her history. Her dull plumage might be evidence of this 'curse', but could also just be poor nutrition and circumstance. @Azurenight and @Gula Mari is an Ice dragon, yeah? I don't have any new Ice dragons, but I still have Shira! I've shared her last year, I think, and maybe even the year before that. She is the creation of Arnskar, the clan smith, and Shira is essentially his daughter. Shira is a spirit contained within a blade, but she may manifest outside of it as well. Unlike others of her ilk, Shira does not require a host dragon to survive because she can gain energy from the heat around herself. Shira is a cool and compassionate, friendly to most she meets. She has an unusual pull to those who are spiritually aware as well like other spirits and mages. Here is her backstory though! When Shira was forged, she caused Arsnkar's forge to cool, almost extinguishing it. Since then, she has grown from a simple wisp with animal-like intelligence to a fully-fledged woman. The first time Shira was brought from the Crucible, it was 45 degrees Celsius, the worst heat wave to ever hit the area. Arnskar, who could tolerate the heat rather well, was still inclined to do what he could to help. Believing that Shira could help with the heat, and the heat could help Shira, he brought her topside. Due to her presence within the confines of the clan, the lower areas had been kept rather cooler, but when exposed to the full brunt of the heat, things got bad. Shira, flooded with energy, began to grow, pulling more and more heat in and dumping out Ice magic in the process. Arnskar lost control of her and the blade was quickly encircled by fog. The heat sink caused a vortex around the ice-encased blade. Those that came to the scene were unable to near Shira due to the biting cold and the objects hurled about by the conjured wind, but Arnskar was hardy. Arnskar, stubborn and resolute, carried himself to Shira and talked to her. He calmed her panic and the storm abated. With the outpouring of Ice magic stopped, the weather stabilized soon enough. Shira took in so much heat, emitted so much Ice, and altered the weather so much in this time that the Heat wave was essentially broken. It was still hot, but not again did the heat rise to such degrees. Since then, Shira's very presence in the clan has kept its temperature cooler than otherwise expected. She dreams of going to warm places now, where she can remain solid all the time. Even with her constant absorption of heat within the clan, she must still rest within her blade for several hours a day. This typically coincides with times that most dragons are conveniently asleep.

@Azurenight (Yooooo, good to see you again! :D Have some lore. x3 Minuit has a bunch of stories in his bio; the ones that focus on him are ridonkulously long, though he does have links to some short, pleasant vignettes as well. "Hello, we heard you were looking for stories. I'm Serenity and my friend here is Miski." she said, her eyes seemed to glow a faint red for a moment before returning to a lovely pale blue. she nudged her companion and he shifted a bit "Forgive the flowers my daughter, Phiora likes them." he said, his voice was gruff, but oddly almost soothing. "I wasn't raised in the Ice fields, I grew up on my great grandparents' ship." he said, pale eyes sparking with fondness "My Gan taught me all she knew of magic, my grandfather taught me sword use." he grinned "A Viking lord and a Siren, when I was old enough gramps sent me to a different ship." he smiled bitterly "These eyes and my magic mark me different from my cousins, diluted because I wasn't hatched in Tidelord's domain and so my 'pure' cousins treated me poorly." He smiled suddenly "But I did what none 'o them could, found a fast ship with a decent captain and found my great grandparents' second eldest daughter. A Siren like Gran is and a fine warrior like Gramps!" he chuckled "She and her mate took my daughter and I in with open arms, I work as a guard for the clan's merchants at the moment." he explained. Serenity smiled "I hatched and spent awhile in the southern Ice fields, but my mother, a plague witch, and my father, a...deranged alchemist, were not well liked by their clan. I was shunned with them because my mother's magic was stronger than they thought it was and as such I can use plague magic to a lesser degree, we lived on the outskirts of the clan and my mother taught me what she could. My father cared little for his hatchlings, only taking interest in the magic that caused a second set of antlers to grow beside the first." she smiled bitterly. "When the power in the clan turned to a 'council' mother sent me to live in a clan and I was adopted by Sven and Damian, who treated me more like their own daughter than my parents ever did." she smiled "Please understand I love my parents, but they aren't my mother and father, Sven and Damian raised me and love me as their own." she explained. "In the end one of the council waged war on my clan and destroyed it, my fathers and I went to a allied clan where two of my friends were. the clan leaders helped me more than the training my mother had put me through ever had and eventually we left their clan. I followed Ashton and Lissandra and we made a clan out of the survivors of a group of wanderers, we just moved back to the Tangled Woods recently from Dragon Home." she explained. ____________________________________________________________ Hello again! :3 Miski is part of a lineage and there are links to the others mentioned by Serenity in her Bio, also links to the lineage in Miski's bio. :3

A young drake stopped, directed by a large imperial dragoness as they walked past stalls and through the crowd. the dragoness smiled softly as if apologizing for her companion.
"I wasn't raised in the Ice fields, I grew up on my great grandparents' ship." he said, pale eyes sparking with fondness "My Gan taught me all she knew of magic, my grandfather taught me sword use." he grinned "A Viking lord and a Siren, when I was old enough gramps sent me to a different ship." he smiled bitterly "These eyes and my magic mark me different from my cousins, diluted because I wasn't hatched in Tidelord's domain and so my 'pure' cousins treated me poorly."
He smiled suddenly "But I did what none 'o them could, found a fast ship with a decent captain and found my great grandparents' second eldest daughter.
