[center]Vitae was originally a member of an enemy plague clan who was badly wounded during a Blackfire raid. A member of the hive at the time, Moonglow, decided to take him in. She brought him back to the hive despite his protests and patched him up. At first he hated her and hated the clan. Why hadn't he been allowed a warrior's death? He loathed her. That is, until she started returning to her den with bite marks and scratches.
He soon learned that the other Hive members, one in particular, were not so fond of her harboring and caring for him and she had been fighting them off for weeks to keep him safe.
The one who had been trying to get through Moonglow so hard was none other than Gannet, a loyal Hive warrior. How dare she bring an enemy back to their home and spend their precious herbs healing him. It was unacceptable....[b][i]Traitorous[/i][/b]...
Eventually, one wound he gave her grew horribly infected and Vitae, who had fallen in love with Moonglow by then, left the safety of the den out of desperation. He went to Yura, the clan healer and begged her for medicine to save Moonglow. Yura agreed and gave him what he needed to save her.
Yet as he traveled back to the den, Gannet was there, waiting to ambush him. The two battled in the air snapping and clawing, biting and gouging.
Till Gannet got the upper hand.
Gannet's jaws locked onto Vitae's head and he dragged the guardian to the ground, not only destroying the medicine in the process, but disfiguring Vitae's face beyond recognition. The guardian managed to fling the Nocturne off and make an escape back into the den, where he found Moonglow already dead.
Vitae stayed in the clan after that to honor Moonglow and became the official nursery caretaker, raising all the clans hatchlings. Except for Gannet's, He refuses to even incubate eggs sired by the Noc, threatening to crush them.
Needless to say, there is no hope of the two ever becoming anything more than mortal enemies...[/center]

Haima has vowed the foulest revenge on the angel for the act of trapping her in the stolen body of a coatl, sealing her essence to the mortal realm and not the place beyond places she hails from. For his part, Ophanim sees her as much lesser to him, claiming that he has made her powerless, helpless.
Haima bides her time in the Hewn City, waiting for the perfect time to strike against Ophanim and the weyr he's taken up residence in, while Ophanim watches and waits from the cliffs.
For now, they are at a stalemate.

They were never friends, and probably never will be.

Lithian is my clan leader as well as my beloved icon, and Raskna is the clan's most deadly enemy. No one except Lithian's parents know that Raskna was their best friend as a child, before they encountered the arcane anomaly that wiped their memories and carved glowing runes into their scales. Raskna, devastated and alone, left soon afterwards.
The two had their separate journies - Lithian to discover themself, Raskna to find someone she could keep safe. Each succeeded, with Lithian's pilgrimage ending in the founding of the Luminous Racontuers and Raskna's in the discovery of an orphan Skydancer, Cadence.
However, neither proved superbly good at their assumed role. Lithian became stressed and reclusive, a weak leader, while Raskna was overprotective and strict with Cadence, refusing to let her leave their hidden den. Cadence cracked before the clan, fleeing after an argument with her surrogate mother, leaving Raskna in the maddening agony of having no charge.
It was, perhaps, by the whims of Fate that Cadence found a home in Lithian's clan.
The battle between Lithian and Raskna, one only Raskna truly understands, continues to this day. Cadence remains cagey about the strange Guardian, and in fact has begun to keep herself hidden to protect the rest of the Clan... particularly in the wake of a massive explosion Raskna triggered to cripple the clan, with tragic success.
