I've got a lot of best friends in my clan, but I think I'm gonna go with these two. A witch and a magician, respectively. Prestidigitation left her clan to join another early on in pursuit of more magical knowledge to use for her tricks, which was probably for the best, as her old clan seems to be overtaken by... something. Murky, the younger of the two, was adopted by the new clan as a hatchling not too long after. She quickly started to take an interest in witchcraft and was eager to learn more about it. Since the two of them are around the same age (just a ca. 2 week difference), were both new to the clan and had related interests, they hit it off pretty well, and became friends quickly. By now, the two of them have formed a deep bond and one is rarely seen without the other. I like to imagine the Rose Rot on Prestidigitation is from Murky, caused by a spell. It's only decorative though, don't worry.

He’s a warrior himself, who helps train the High Command’s (the leaders) and the Council’s (the ambassadors) bodyguards. He never shows it, but everyone knows that he’s constantly stressed. Oddly enough the only time he’s calm is when he’s around Zeno, one of the clan’s scientists and also the biggest troublemaker. Some say it’s because he likes hearing what Zeno’s up to. Apparently listening to the Skydancer drone on about his nanobots is actually calming to Ivan. However, Zeno is the one that stresses out Ivan the most (due to the Skydancer’s often failed experiments, which usually results in some sort of explosion). Regardless of the fact, the two are rarely seen apart at the end of the day. They’ll never admit to being best friends, but everyone knows that they are.

The two of them work together in my clan's library, so they've gotten a lot of time to get to know each other over the years. The two are practically inseparable. Now, you probably have (or will now) noticed Flether's pixely scarf. This is because he's wearing 6 of them. Zeal enjoys making scarves in his free time, and gives them to Flether for his birthday. Zeal being a tundra, however, has lead to Fletcher having many birthdays and Zeal making him many scarves. Fletcher wears them all because he thinks it's adorable. Zeal keeps making scarves. It's always Fletcher's birthday. It's a running joke in the clan, and when Fletcher gets a new scarf, others pitch in so Zeal's feelings don't get hurt for forgetting.

Callicarpa happened upon her, in the midst of his search for a Charge, and was bemused to see a tiny Mirror and her tiny home. She let him into her home (with major adjustments to accommodate his size) and they lived in the Driftwood Drag for quite some time, alone. Eventually Tempest felt the pull of migration innate to her species, and wished to visit their natural home, the Abiding Boneyard. When they got there, eventually they found shelter with another Mirror and her clan, and began to stay there instead. Given a Nocturne breed changing scroll, she became a Nocturne, and became so small that she was about the size of a fae (not even joking, go look at her size lol). From there, Callicarpa decided the absolutely miniscule little Nocturne would be his charge, and he would "protect the smol." They remain very close friends to this day.

In time the clan grew to house distinct areas for both the serpentine dragons and the Lightweaver's Firstborn, yet Aisu remained isolated by her inability to communicate. Her one constant in life has been Pluto, who has stood by her friend for many years, never wavering in her devotion to their friendship. Through the matronly Coatl, she learns of happenings in the clan and the wider world, and together they share many long hours stargazing and moon-viewing in companionable silence. As such, Pluto is one of the only non-Imperials to be allowed entry to the Enclave, since no one else has been able to draw the pale, silent dragon out of her shell the way she can. For her own part, Aisu has been a comforting constant in the matchmater's life, allowing her to weather the losses of kin, mates, and children alike.

Though they both have incredibly important duties to attend to, as well as their own mates and families (Luthien's family being particularly large), they always make time to spend with each other.
