EssayOfThoughts I love your theories tbh, you've put them together with a good balance of supporting evidence and creativity, y'know?
The insect contribution behaviour within the compound actually clicks better with the specialisation, in my brain. It's hard to explain, but I'm picturing faceted sighted dragons being
capable of all different sorts of specialities, but being incapable of specialising in the needs of the
entire globe or, more accurately,
any field outside of the clan/s they align themselves to. Where as, comparatively, I'm picturing a multi dragon being
capable of all sorts of techniques but being
incapable of turning
all their eyes and focus onto a single task.
So, like, all dragons (of any eyes at all) could be very dang good at anything they set their mind too. Multi and Faceted dragons, as dragons with high magic levels, are capable of being amazing at anything.
But if a Multi dragon aligns themselves to a single clan, they'd be equally skilled at treating the ailments brought about by the clan's home environment and breed inclination as they would the visitors who come by the islands or any other dragons on the planet. But if a special new strain of disease arises from their home environment, or is carried over by a dragon from an especially virulent environment, they'd have to consult with either a) another necromancer or b) Plaguemumma to aid their discovery of the solution.
Meanwhile, if a Faceted dragon aligns themselves to a single clan, they'd be extraordinarily efficient at treating any disease that spawns from their clan's home environment-- new especially virulent disease from their home or not. But they'd have a bit of difficulty curing diseases or illness ailing visitors, and born in a foreign land.
However, if an especially virulent disease is carried over to their home territory, then they'd have difficulty treating it at first... but if it managed to thrive in their clan home, they'd quickly be able to dissect and understand the disease based on its behaviour in their known environment.
Of course, there's still a whole lotta variability here-- for example, if both dragon types decided to become wondering shamen or infectors, they'd both be equally good at worldly infections, but perhaps the Faceted derg would specialised in a specific strain of disease, or one that brought about certain debilitations, or in a particular breed of dragon, while the Multi would be (again) equally capable of birthing or destroying multiple strains, but would struggle to comprehend and control a particularly persistent disease (perhaps with only a set key strain/side effects/local or that only effected one breed of dragon).
I hope that makes more sense? You're a lot better at articulating tbh, lol.
