Usually, I just chronicle the lore of my own clan, but during this festive week I wanted to spread my wings and learn about the Shadow Flight and the Lore from other clans. So this is what I'm looking for: If you are an Shadow Flight Clan I would absolutely love to hear about your Lore. Tell me how you think, how your clan works, all those good facts so I can compare and contrast them to others of your flight. I'm not just looking for the Shadow Flight, I'm also looking for Shadow drakes that have joined other flights as well. What is it like for them in your clan? What is their back story? He's a memorial dragon to one of my dogs who passed away last June, so I suppose it's a bit sad in some ways. My name is Dalibor and I have been commanded to tell you what I do in Verglas Manor. I would not be telling you this, but the mistress of my house would make my life quite... dangerous... if I disobeyed her. To the dragons in the Manor, I am a clever merchant who is very adept at his job. This is because I have sworn to the mistress of my house that I would not harm them. Had I not, their petty lives would be [i]living hell.[/i] Besides trading, I meet with... exceedingly powerful dragons with lots of money and little sense. I am connected to several hired killers, assassins, and crime lords. What do I sell you ask? Death and pain, little one, death and pain. I also have a large collection of illegal things, which some dragons like to think I will sell. The mistress of my house allows me to torture whomever comes to me looking to buy something from my hoard, just like I used to in the old days... good times, am I right? Hehe. Oh you want to know about the mistress of my house? Talk to the Queen of the Shadows. Maybe she'll tell you something.

He was a toss up between Arcane and Shadow and he just happened to have the colors I need. He's apart of my Coli fandragon team who I need to get around to writing their lore. I'm thinking of making him head of a new Inquisition in my clan cause I don't really have villains and I want to make a joke based on an image someone made for me. He's got a pretty buddy but it felt like overkill to have two so I'm selling him, I'd include but he's wind. [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=35729888] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/357299/35729888_350.png[/img] [/url] Glide is last, I gave away a progen hatchling but I always feel bad about asking them to be returned and surprise of surprises she got exalted fairly quickly even though I love the colors Antique and Aqua so I set out to find a copy. This combo was surprisingly hard to find for a price I was willing to pay since I knew I'd have to gene her. I'm not sure if I want to come up with a lore reason she's Shadow instead of Fire so for now I've slapped on Rags to hide it. I shoudl probably redress her as well. There's also Sahqolok who was the first mate on my airship and Cleo(a renamed Ohara) who was my archaeologist, they're both up for sale now cause I don't like their colors as much anymore.

She's not a monster hunter like the rest of the company but, as her name suggests, is a medic. She doesn't very much conform perhaps to the standard stereotype of the joking trickster Shadow dragon, but she does use Shadow magic... perhaps daily, since she's rarely noticed by other dragons as they pass by on their business. For her job, she uses mainly fungi (but other plants, too, since she's been a world traveler for a long time) to assist her in her healing efforts.[/columns] [columns]Gloom [i]is[/i] your stereotypical skulker. He's a charlatan fortune teller, and he enjoys every minute of his cold reading. He's really intelligent, and wise to the ways of dragons, like any good con man ought to be. He travels with the nomadic monster hunters more as a method of finding more clients and getting away from irate ones in a hurry than as a job in itself. She's well acquainted with Shadows and considers her patron god to be the strongest potential combatant against the Shade. Eclipse is the kind of dragon that believes the best way to fight fire is with fire, so why not fight the Shade with darkness? She has good success with her hunting, since she can often obscure her movement with Shadow from the less wary. That's not to say that Eclipse is entirely serious. She knows how to joke with the best of them. In fact, her favorite time is gathered around the campfire with her friends telling ghost stories.[/columns] [columns]Apocalypse is a little like Eclipse in his hunting habits (in fact, they work together from time to time), but he tends to hunt the zombie-like Tengu. His interests lie primarily in research, because, as he says, "Shadow is right next to Light. Some dragons move the Light, others move the Shadow. The result is the same." One of his favorite pastimes is devising new traps for his favored subjects. @Azurenight I am back with three Shadow dragons~. He likes to consider himself the most evil, and sometimes, the others of the clan agree. While he doesn't hurt the clan directly, he does scare them constantly to the point where it's become a 'challenge' between hatchlings to try to not become scared when he appears and talks to them. No one knows if she is truly a ghost or if she is just using a piece of apparel to make her body disappear, leaving just her apparel floating, but whatever it is... it unnerves the clan. She loves robotics and will collect anything that's eletronic and hide them away so that she can tear them apart and either reassemble them or making something entirely new. She can make apparel, skins, or even familiars like that. She's turned into the 'mad scientist of the clan.

How did she get there? Her eyes are obscured by her hood, but there is an unmistakable aura about her that says she is indeed a Shadow dragon. "Of course, that's just preposterous," she continues as she pulls herself to her feet. "We're no closer to the Shade than any other flight. Shadow dragons who become consumed are no different from others..." She moves around Dash, her motions ethereal and... strange. There is something off about her, but it is hard to observe her. It's as though any observations made are forgotten within seconds of making them. "We're tricksters by nature," she says, and now a smile plays on her lips, cast in the shadow of her hood. "Tricksters and performers. Nothing is as good to a Shadow dragon as a good show of tricks and deceit. Sleight of hand is a specialty. Don't bet your treasure against one of us..." She has moved again; was it while she spoke? She is farther away now, her back to Dash. Her head turns, her smile just barely visible. "Of course, you're best to not write us off as simple pranksters. There's more... much more. We're stronger than we seem, and we're wonderful at adapting." She is in front of Dash again, teeth bared in a ferocious grin. "Strange things happen in the shadows," she whispers.

@Azurenight I have five shadow dragons! Four if you don't count Yatu. [b]Yatu[/b]: [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=31228595] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/312286/31228595_350.png[/img] [/url] He's just some minor outer monstrosity that has very little if any effect on the corporeal world of Sornieth. He is my joke dragon. Just read his bio, you'll see what I mean. He sort of haunts the Quarry, but he mostly just mildly confuses people occasionally. Like little things that most people don't notice conciously. Do you ever wonder how your keys got over there or how your shoes ended up crammed away somewhere (Or why your cat keeps staring into the wall)? [b]Xian[/b]: [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=17335599] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/173356/17335599_350.png[/img] [/url] Xian doesn't really take much stock into her ancestry or elemental allegiance. She is no trickster nor crook. She is angry. She is one of my clan's guardians, but is not officially a member of the Guard. She left that position if favour of training younglings. She still practically has the job though. She still sunburns easily if she's not careful though and does have some good eyesight at night, thanks to her element. Luckily, she tends to stay in the Quarry, away from extended exposure to the sun and where the long shadows provide a use for her eyes. [b]Ryzolli[/b]: [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=2391865] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/23919/2391865_350.png[/img] [/url] Ryzolli is one of my oldest dragons, older than even Xian. He, unlike Xian, is a conniving con artist. He is a businessman. He holds a near monopoly on trade throughout the area and much of the common folk despise him for it. He has a sensitivity to bright light as well. He does have great eyesight though from being both a mirror and having shadow eyes. Those eyes absorb a lot of light. It makes for some good eyesight for tells and intuition. [b]Silbern[/b]: [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=36339910] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/363400/36339910_350.png[/img] [/url] Silbern isn't a trickster, but his magic is reminiscent of shadow magicks. He has the ability to "walk" or travel aetherially/astrally out of his body. He can also bring his body with him over long distances if he wants too, but this uses a lot of magic. he can utilize shadow magic to move rapidly through areas of darkness or through shadows as well. His dreams are his field of play though. He can lucidly dream at will, enabling him to perform incredibly amounts of thought, reflection, and research in a short time as well as being able to perceive things that are not usually accessibly while awake. Tricky magic indeed. [b]Fiero[/b]: [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=7365816] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/73659/7365816_350.png[/img] [/url] Fiero is sweet and caring with a cute sense of humor as a shadow dragon. He is, however, a bit of a worrywart. His [url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=lair&tab=dragon&id=63130&did=7211317]mate [/url]is the exact opposite of his mentally controlled ways, her being a homicidally wrathful monster. Through sheer willpower and positive enforcement from Fiero, Kenpachi avoids slaughtering everyone she knows in fits of rage. Fiero is a very supportive fellow. His eyesight, unlike most Shadow dragons, is terrible due to a majority of his life being spent outside the safety of shaded areas. That and he is old.

"oops..." she said softly smiling shyly at Dash "You asked about Shadow dragons right?" she asked "my folks said I should come by." she explained sitting down and letting a deck of cards lazily circle her. A small grey kitten leaps forward and looks at Dash for a long moment before meowing and sitting in front of him as if demanding attention. The Dragoness rolls her eyes "I'm Abby by the way and the spoiled brat is Brownie." she introduces "I umm I actually didn't hatch in the Tangled woods and hadn't ever gone there, I hatched in Dragonhome alone and lived in the caves until I started wandering and met my parents and big brother." she smiled as she spoke "But I visited there recently! Oh it's such a pretty place, No wonder my magic always drew me towards it!" she said happily, her dark violet eyes sparkling and the cards moving in odd patters and shapes as she spoke. "My clan treats me and the other Shadow dragons very well, even when one of us pulls a prank, but the tunnels we live in are so close to the Tangled woods. I like to think it's because as large as the clan is we're still close knit." she says happily, her tail flicking lazily back and forth as she spoke. "The clan leaders are very accepting, as long as a dragon is loyal to the clan they don't care where they came from." she said contently. Suddenly she seemed to withdraw and her eyes dulled "I stayed in clans before this one... awful clans who's members only cared for themselves. I ended up an outsider watching the destruction of friendships I had made and not being able to do anything about it." she snaps out of it quickly enough "But that was before I met my family and we joined the clan, I have loyal friends now who join in when we get bored and want to pull a prank or play a game." she said easily relaxed again.
