The words were not spoken with any hostility, but Jamar could clearly hear the pain in Ophelia's voice. The seer stepped forward and drew aside her cover. Icy pale eyes stared down at him in a burning gaze that he couldn't help but turn away from. "Your silence means her death. To me, you are as much a murderer as Queen Nerissa." The young dragon spat out the name of his leader with a venom that tore Ophelia's heart apart. "Little one, Nerissa is trying to save your mother. You know nothing of what-" "Then tell me," he interrupted, turning to face her gaze again. "You banished my father. You isolated me from the rest of the clan. And now you are going to execute my mother. The least you owe me is an explanation." There was a long pause. The ancient dragon looked upon the younger with pity, seeing the pain in his eyes and the rage in his future. The future she had seen in his eyes since he was a hatchling, the pain that he would feel and the pain that he would cause, nothing had changed. There was no stopping what would happen, she knew now, but perhaps if he understood why... then she could kill him with a clear conscience. With a deep sigh, she settled down and began to speak. The operation was going smoothly. The Forked division had secured the enemy base, while the Reverse division had moved in to clear out any survivors. Turquoise had no doubt they would be able to complete the mission, eliminations were where the Reverse leaders, Nyxa and Shatterscream, really shone, and she had no doubt that her division could easily keep hold of and stabilise the captured point. Jarvis’ strategy had been perfectly executed through her instructions. All that was left now was to hold down the position until the boss and her consort arrived to meet out judgement. Turquoise stretched, leaning leisurely back against her chair. She smirked. Those scammers were gonna get it once the boss got hold of them, serves them right for trying to trick her. She always found out. The pearlcatcher figured that since her part in the mission was over, she may as well go and see how Jarvis was. When she left him this morning, he had been sound asleep and snoring gently. Trotting towards her balcony and launching herself off it, her pearl clutched tightly in her claws, she thought of the day she had arrived at Storm, how big and strange it had all seemed to her, how daunting. She thought of how many had tried to reach out to her, but how Jarvis had ‘spoken her language’ one of technology and strategy, and of how reassured she had felt once she knew that there was someone who understood her. Ah, she was here. She lowered herself onto the roof of the Reverse skyscraper, opposite the Forked one where she typically stayed. She headed down the familiar stairway to the floor below, where Jarvis lived. Just as she reached the bottom step, she heard a murmuring from within the room. Pushing the door open, she was greeted with the sight of a trashed room, and a small group of dragons clustered in the middle of it. The boss, Sirocco, her consort, Typhoon, and the ‘Ancient One’ Darkstrike, raised their heads as she entered, their eyes wide with shock and worry. There was no sign of Jarvis. Turquoise took a step forwards, her whiskers trailing behind her. She dipped her head to the small gathering. Sirocco moved forward to meet her near the door. The usually alert fae's head fins were drooping, and she was wearing on her face a downcast look. "Hello, Turquoise. I'm assuming you are looking for your mate?" "You would be assuming correct." "Well as you can see, he is not here at present." "Oh." Turquoise nodded "Do you know when he will be returning?" Sirocco's head drooped even further. There. That was the sign she had been waiting for. "Boss. Where's Jarvis?" The boss shook her head, and thrust a small peice of parchment into her claws. "Here. I'm sorry." She whirled and headed out the room, followed by Typhoon, who gave Turquoise a pitying glance as he passed. Soon it was only her, the elder, and the small scrap of parchment left in the room. So I started but then didn't like it so rewrite time yaaaaay.

I'm assuming you are looking for your mate?"
"You would be assuming correct."
"Well as you can see, he is not here at present."
"Oh." Turquoise nodded "Do you know when he will be returning?"

Sirocco's head drooped even further. There. That was the sign she had been waiting for.

"Boss. Where's Jarvis?"

The boss shook her head, and thrust a small peice of parchment into her claws.
"Here. I'm sorry."

She whirled and headed out the room, followed by Typhoon, who gave Turquoise a pitying glance as he passed. Soon it was only her, the elder, and the small scrap of parchment left in the room.

Turquoise took a deep breath, and began to read...

Hello there, whichever one of you snivelling wyrms reads this.

You've probably realised by now that your friend 'Jarvis' is no longer here. And he won't be coming back.
You see, your so called 'Boss' stole his egg from me. I am his father, and he was to be my heir. But Sirocco took him from me, desperate to use his mind for her own ends.
He was to be my Vision, and now, he is once again mine. One of your own, the assassin you call Mirkwood, was extremely willing to bring him to me, especially once I promised him a sum considerably more than that which you offer.

You will not be seeing my son again, and I will ask politely that you do not try to take him back. I cannot be held responsible for what may happen if you do.

I apologise for not letting you say your goodbyes. I could not risk it

I'mma go for it. uhH, so for what I'm going for... I don't actually have the loved one (yet, because RNG really hates me for some reason) but it doesn't seem exactly a necessity for them to be real. (Also, the topic title implies someone stolen eggs... but yeah I don't think that'll be happening here) I'll try to work with it. While still having plenty of room to move and stretch, he moved low to the ground, tail dragging in the dust behind him. It was strange, really, to be moving down the path. The walls were still rough, bearing the pick-marks from when it was hewn, rather that the smooth stone of everywhere else. As far as he could remember, not a single living Clanmember had traveled in the tunnel. It was like going back in time to much earlier days. Ahead, the tunnel opened and he could see a soft glow. "Hello?" Jaynum squeaked as he padded into the little chamber. "Are you around here Hylla?" Yes, Hylla. The spectral dragon had chosen here to "reside." Where she could linger if she didn't have the energy to visit the ethereal plane and wished not to be viewed. Frankly, Jaynum didn't want to be here. The bare room stank of non-existent incense and Hylla gave him all the wrong feelings. Don't get him wrong, he didn't not like her, but the silent, staring, knowing eyes and her looks of being a dragon from a far-gone era made him feel a bit... uncomfortable. Especially since he was one of the few in the Clan who could see her and knew she existed. "Yes?" Hylla hummed as she seemed to step out of the stone walls. The emblem that shined from just above her head was what bathed the chamber in a pale yellow light. "You seem... stressed Jaynum." The Spiral grit his teeth and curled in on himself, then began to fidget with his scarf. "You wouldn't happen to know where Persephus went, would you? I've looked everywhere for him and couldn't find him and I know Khione'll--bebacksoonandIdon'twannatellherIlosthim--" "Calm!" Hylla spoke. She dipped closer to Jaynum and tilted her head. "Haven't you asked Eulalia? She'd be likely to know, yes?" "I tried to ask her, but she wouldn't say anything," the Spiral thought back to earlier when he had asked. The Mirror wore a scared look and shook her head. "I-- I cannot say I do." "I thought to ask you since you kinda just lurk around and listen to everyone." The ghostly Skydancer's eyes softened. "I try not to take issue with the affairs of the living... But I suppose I'll make an exception. "As you should remember, the day that Persephus was presented to the rest of the Clan was one of great emotion for our Progenitor." Jaynum remembered that day, just a few weeks ago. The Wildclaw hatchling had stumbled into the lair seeking his true parentage, and while that brought its own throws, nothing rivaled that of Alexia. The Tundra raged through the lair, bellowing that she'd never allow some b*****d child of two dragons that as far as she cared hated each other into the Clan. There were standards to uphold! Think of the scandal! She had an image to keep! It had hurt Jaynum to hear all that about the son that had cared enough to try and find him, despite the Spiral having sent away his ill-planned eggs in a time of fear. Still, Eulalia had begged and pleaded enough to allow Persephus to stay. "After that," Hylla continued. "Eulalia had come to me, saying that she had a bad feeling for Persephus' safety. She asked if I would keep a watch for any ill-intentioned plans that Alexia might make. "In different circumstances, I might've refused. I do prefer to stay out of the issues of the breathing. But it was Eulalia who discovered me wandering the plains. She gave me a place of refuge here and was the first dragon I could call a friend for many years. I felt I owed her something. "So I did, as you say "lurk around and listen" to Alexia. For the most part it remained her complaining about Persephus and the taint it'd have on the image. For a fortnight it was that, so I began to pull away from my watch. Unfortunately... It seems that was a mistake." Jaynum's eyes widened at the spectral Skydancer's last statement. "What do you mean?!" he shrieked. "Alexia wanted to hurt him?!" Hylla bowed her head. "Just a few days ago I had been wandering the vault, looking to see if I could identify any of the new artifacts. There, I overheard Alexia and Ariden as they were counting out the treasure they'd bring with them when they went to the markets. It was Ariden mostly. He was bragging about this dragon he found that would "take care of pests." I knew it was strange when they left the nests with a particularly large burlap sack thrown over their back." "Are you saying," Jaynum began as he jumped up. "My son has been kidnapped?!?" "I will make no assumptions, but perhaps." The Spiral cast large eyes at Hylla before turning and racing back down the passage. Instead of stolen eggs, we have stolen dragons! Yep, just gonna leave that open-ended. Fun! But it's eh... kinda lost steam on writing. :Þ
I'mma go for it.

uhH, so for what I'm going for... I don't actually have the loved one (yet, because RNG really hates me for some reason) but it doesn't seem exactly a necessity for them to be real. (Also, the topic title implies someone stolen eggs... but yeah I don't think that'll be happening here)

"So I did, as you say "lurk around and listen" to Alexia. For the most part it remained her complaining about Persephus and the taint it'd have on the image. For a fortnight it was that, so I began to pull away from my watch. Unfortunately... It seems that was a mistake."

Jaynum's eyes widened at the spectral Skydancer's last statement. "What do you mean?!" he shrieked. "Alexia wanted to hurt him?!"

Hylla bowed her head. "Just a few days ago I had been wandering the vault, looking to see if I could identify any of the new artifacts. There, I overheard Alexia and Ariden as they were counting out the treasure they'd bring with them when they went to the markets. It was Ariden mostly. He was bragging about this dragon he found that would "take care of pests." I knew it was strange when they left the nests with a particularly large burlap sack thrown over their back."

"Are you saying," Jaynum began as he jumped up. "My son has been kidnapped?!?"

"I will make no assumptions, but perhaps."

The Spiral cast large eyes at Hylla before turning and racing back down the passage.

Instead of stolen eggs, we have stolen dragons!
Yep, just gonna leave that open-ended. Fun! But it's eh... kinda lost steam on writing. :Þ

You would do well to guard your dragons where I am concerned,
I may not be able to resist taking them all from you.
I simply must have them.
...please?
