The ancient dragon's voice trails off to a whisper.
"We were betrayed. We didn't know who. We didn't know why. We didn't know. There was only one thing we knew. We had been betrayed by one of our own. Division, disgust, and fear soon followed."

If you asked any member of the clan who'd they consider a likely traitor, they would condemn Badger. His dark scales and sickly pale wings and underbelly could only mean one thing: he was born a Wraith. Hatched from an abandoned egg as a wily Nocturne, half-dead and yet half-alive, with inexplicable powers. None of the clan members knew why Icarus let him join the clan; his withdrawn nature could hide a shy personality, or a vendetta to end the clan in a judgement of fire and ice.

And yet, if you asked Icarus... Her suspicions would point towards Eilen. While the Skydancer is the clan's most deadly fighter, she is also their most deadly threat. As the leader of the Red Court, a subdivision of the clan dedicated to keeping their lair safe when the others can't, she would seem trustworthy... However, her protective nature leads Eilen herself to be distrustful of Wraiths, as proven by her vehemence towards Badger.
Icarus fears for the day when Eilen learns that the clan's true leader, and Icarus' mate, is also a Wraith.

At least... not until he harneseed the power of the dark forest. Mossky told him not to, several dangers would come upon him! He wouldn't listen, he wanted woodland power to himself. The Dark Wood took him over, and..." The Ancient One took a second to compose himself, bowing his head sorrowfully. "I lost my best friends that day. Only a few dragons remained, and they have long passed on by now. It has been years, but I can still hear their voices. The voices, the laughter, all taken away from me... by Rylen. The Traitor." Not in his lore, but he tried to kill some of his hatchlings after he figured out that they were charged with extreme, unstable amounts of magic capable of killing a dragon. Hecate (another dragon) tried to stop him, and he slashed her leg, permanently maiming her.

this gal is probably a traitor. she has served my clan well, but rumors say the Shaows call her, and she struggls to not fall into their whispering. currently in our clan, she has a guard with her at all times to help her fight this problem, but to protect her and the rest of the clan.
