While the dragons fell for each other, other dragons had a hard time accepting them being together. It was due to Flight prejudice, back at the beginning of days, because Kailasa was a Nature dragon, the Flight of life and warmth, while Hemachandra was an Ice dragon, hailing from the land of death and cold. So strong was the hate from those around them, that on the day of their bonding ceremony, the couple was attacked. The hateful and prejudice dragons put a curse on them, turning the two Guardians into Opal craved sculptures and putting them as far away from each other as possible. It was after thousands of years that the spell finally fell and the couple was able to once more breath and walk the physical plane, even if they were no longer fully normal dragons, but something in between living and dead. This allowed them the ability to cross between the planes and enter dreams of other dragons. As something of a ghost, Hemachandra and Kailasa desperately tried to find each other for years, using any means necessary, including walking the dream plane to see if maybe some other dragon saw their lost love. They finally found each other thanks to the Whispering Waters Clan. It's leader, Vala, has been informed by her seers about the couple joining the Clan and so sent out her dragons to look for them. The couple was reunited and it joined the Clan that accepted them fully as they were. They were able to finally be with each other. The bonding ceremony and celebrations after lasted for days, and so far they have even managed to spawn a few hatchlings, one of their daughters, Marise, choosing to stay with her parents. The only reminder of their sad past now are the pieces of opal stone, which refused to fall away from their bodies, becoming a part of them. While ashamed of them at first, now they wear them with pride, because they survived all the hardships and their love won in the end. Kailsa and Hemachandra are each others Charges, so strong and important is their love.

At least there's still capitalism.

All three have been through hell and back together, along with the other flight reps (lair lore I need to do lol). They trust each other with everything. Well, now they do. Their relationship started rocky. I need to write the lore, so I don't have much about them. Just basics. Nuri got along with everyone to begin with, actually he shipped Orbona and Carvel from the beginning but had no idea he would end up as part of the relationship. Carvel and Orbona didn't get along with each other very well cause well, Plague and Nature. Then they actually talked to each other and became friends. They were friends for a while before the relationship formed, building up that strong trust that makes what they have special.

They're technically just friends, but messed up 100% shippable friends. They first met when Sericum joined the Clan of Lost Knowledge. She was born with her five senses significantly strengthened, so she could be too easily overwhelmed to take up an important role in the clan. So she didn't take any role, and merely started doing small helpful tasks around the clan, such as building nests for other dragons, or clearing away finished bones of prey animals. But she found herself near Aspen quite often, cleaning up after his fights with his sister whenever they broke something important. While Sericum never really liked Aspen's sister Vertigo, she enjoyed teasing Aspen whenever possible, much to Aspen's annoyance. But although he'll never admit it, Aspen enjoyed Sericum's teasing remarks, and something felt missing when she wasn't there to bother him. Although if anyone dared say Aspen loved Sericum in any way, Aspen will stick his nose up and insist "why would the clan's heir associate with peasants?", and Sericum will fall over laughing at the obscure idea that someone thought Aspen loved her.

@RenRaptor oh man so many. (I basically turned this into a masterpost on my lair relationships by accident... I'm sorry? ;u;)
Jinx and Blessing. (Feel free to glance at their lore for more developed background, but basically) Jinx is plaguetouched, and Blessing performs rites and rituals over the rising of the sun. They've been in the lair for quite a long time, so their relationship has changed as years have passed. Jinx has always been overbearing, and Blessing used to be the wilting flower sort- very passive, very accommodating, blind to Jinx's faults. As time went on, Blessing became more and more experienced and wise to the world. He's almost aloof now, in the way that all old dragons are, and quite composed. Doesn't smile or laugh very often. Due to her influence, Blessing has become more in touch with death and dying things (ironic, considering he presides over the rising sun). He has tatters, and the mask, and a Wasteland Collector companion where he used to have a Lux Spectre, so. And Jinx, in ways that's almost impossible to notice, has become a bit kinder. Extremely tolerant almost exclusively to him. Which I mean, reasonable considering he know's she's plaguetouched but hasn't told the entire lair. So she won't be run off/killed, basically. In exchange, she doesn't try to infect any other dragons with the plague unless they come to her about it. Basically an unsaid deal. As to their relationship, Blessing is basically the only thing tethering Jinx to the lair. He knows what she's done (to him, others, and herself) and that it's terrible, but he still loves her. She loves him as much as she can love anything. (And they have a bunch of babies.)

(In interest of saving time, they have lore in their description that'll really help with understanding their relationship. ^^) They're basically the definition of workaholics, both of them (Incalice squirreled away at the top of her hill in her cave, and Alotarel acting as Intimidating Ambassador™ to other lairs and travelling a lot). Amazingly, though, they still make time for each other. They're basically each other's reward for living the hard life. Very private in their interactions (and in general), but if you ever catch sight of them they're extremely adorable. Cuddled together whenever they can be, basically. They also had a daughter, Poppy, who was basically a completely random XXY. I mean, the Y was a given, but the XX was completely random. To help you understand, this is their range. Poppy's a perma-member of the lair, and basically the one thing they're proudest of making together. They're the closest to a nuclear family you can basically get. In Daemon's Lair anyways. (They also have a bunch of babies.)

Illutan is the Lair Leader. Like, The Face Of The Lair (which I'm sure you can tell, given that she's my icon at any given time excepting festivals). Her lore is ridiculous and actually not in her description, because I haven't typed it out yet. Long story short, my progens - Chalize and Altataeus - both had successors. They have successors for reasons that will be explained later. Illutan is Chalize (the custom progen)'s successor. She's the Day side of leadership. Very visible, and if at all possible, the only leadership visible. She's the ambassador, the peacemaker, and the problem solver. If a dispute stops becoming personal and starts becoming a larger problem, Illutan is who you're supposed to go to. Illutan is reasonably capable at defending herself - and absurdly well rounded in regards to magic and physical attacks - but that's not really her job, so she's not too good. Caishen is extremely defensive and good at magic- does quite nicely stationary, but not at all well on the move. With Illutan doing all these Things all the time, Caishen is basically her trophy husband. She's Wind (adaptable, changeable, cutting and mellow in turn), while he's Ice (standoffish, a bit isolated, immutable). He's basically what she comes home to. He likes to garden. And read books. And read books in gardens. That's about it. He has a few beastclan contacts for spywork, as well, but that's just a side project. In all, Caishen helps Illutan deal with the incredible burden of supporting the entire lair. She supports everyone, and he supports her.

Ephemerality and Onyx. She's fairly combat proficient as a job requirement. Relationship wise, they're one of those relationships that people look at and say "huh, that makes sense." Veeeery lowkey. They run in completely different spheres work-wise, but they share a mini cave system, and he basically knows more of her secrets than anyone else, so. Trust is there, definitely. And a mellow sort of longterm love. So, Chalize and Altataeus used to lead the lair, with Chalize acting as Sun and Altataeus as Moon. After a certain (long) period of time, however, they realized they were tired of leading. They knew they'd always be able to come back, but also realized that they weren't needed for leadership. And while they were certainly proficient, they could go out on journeys and find so much more for the lair's benefit. And also Find Themselves, or something. So they passed on their leadership to Illutan and Ephemerality, respectively. But before all that nonsense they were together. Like, really together. Over time though, they just... things changed. The same way it changed in regards to leadership. So they each left, and travelled. And they would (and do) meet up on their journeys- they arrange for their paths to cross, or journey together for a couple of weeks or months or years, or something. And when they're back at the lair to share goods/info/commodities, they have temporary lairs stationed quite near to each other a bit outside the Lair's borders. They're very close, but not That Way anymore. Quite recently, though, Chalize ran into Requiem on one of her travels. He's really young (and probably doesn't know how old she is, either?) but he really brightened up her life, long story short. They struck up a rapport and started traveling together, and eventually, well. That was that. They ran into Altataeus eventually, and Requiem was a bit ???? at Chalize and Altataeus' relationship, but Chalize explained to him that she and Altataeus weren't together but their closeness wasn't going to be changing for any reason, basically. And he was like "alright." So sometimes they travel all three together, and sometimes it's just Chalize and Requiem.

They're basically the definition of workaholics, both of them (Incalice squirreled away at the top of her hill in her cave, and Alotarel acting as Intimidating Ambassador™ to other lairs and travelling a lot).

(Read their descriptions for personal details.)

Ephemerality is the successor of Altataeus. The Night side of leadership, the invisible hand.

In a crowded room or meeting, they'd look at each other first and stand beside each other, definitely.

Chalize, and Altataeus, and Chalize's mate Requiem.

And he was like "alright."

So sometimes they travel all three together, and sometimes it's just Chalize and Requiem. And Chalize brings Requiem back to the Lair when she visits, but that's all he really knows of it.

The relationship between all three of them is a bit weird, and a bit tangled, but they make it work.

She can also take baths in lava, so she's in Fire (nearer to the border of Wind than the center) quite frequently for a multitude of purposes. Belial. In one word, "cunning." Elegant, scrappy in a pinch. Also able to take baths in lava, so pretty much always in Fire with Abbadon. Acts as ambassador and has purview to act as Lair Representative for whomever he runs into. Acts as a contact for Chalize and Altataeus, actually, if they're not looking to return to the Lair proper.

Eve grounds the two of them. Being Wind, she's actually a bit uncomfortable in Fire, so she's the one that makes journeys back to the Lair if necessary. So there! A secret about Onyx that not even Ephemerality knows. One that you won't even know unless you read this description.

The galaxies on Orpheus' wings function the same as the stars on Onyx's. Melinoe's ichor has no real counterpart.

They love each other and stuff. Partners in crime, basically.

Seraphiel and Cirrus.

Both are angelic. Seraphiel is a messenger (more lore in description). Nobody... nobody really knows what Cirrus does.

Lore wise, all angels in the lair are Light. These two have Light eyes, but you can't see them.

(Secret: Aya and Cirrus used to be together. As in, together together.)

Sariel - or "the angel who taught men the course of the moon" - and Leliel - the Angel of Night.

Sariel has also been identified to possibly be the angel of death, or a fallen angel. Leliel (Lailah in hebrew, meaning night) is one of the only definitively feminine angels, and the bringer of night.

In this case, Sariel is of many eyes and Leliel is of none. They're definitely together, but nobody's quite sure how.

Helium and Xenon.

Helium trains grown dragons for Exaltation to serve the Windsinger. Xenon is... weird. Nobody knows what Xenon does.

Chryadis and Luceris. (Bit of lore in descriptions.)

Very old lair members. Hunt and gather food and resources, but that's about it. Very close, have been together for years upon years.

Aurelia and Orion.

Aurelia has a buuunch of lore in description. Orion is very wintery, functions as an emissary in Ice quite a lot. When back at the Lair, he resides in Aurelia's Caves. He comforts her and grounds her.

If one were to compare power levels, one would only have to look at Aurelia's familiar - a Hydra - and Orion's familiar - a Cosmo Gecko.

Despite this power imbalance, however, and a great distance between their duties as lair members, they're together and happy about it.

Poppy and Muerte.

Poppy's (extensive, and very important) lore is in her description.

Poppy does her job, and Muerte scavenges/gathers. He often returns to the Lair and sits down with her in their cave system to talk about all the exciting things he found/saw that day, and she does the same. Very cute relationship.

Croatoan and Pyrite.

Both of them are away, a lot. Croatoan (lore in description) explores and returns with goods, treasures, info, etc. Pyrite does the same but in regards to more magic than material goods.

They sometimes travel together, sometimes alone.

Pyrite is sort of angelic, but not fully. Croatoan is part tree, or something.

Solgaleo and Lunaala.

Solgaleo is the offspring of Strianche and Aya- and so, half angel. A combination of Wind and Light.

Lunaala is Arcane, but highly partial to Ice. Often takes part in envoys to other Clans, travels frequently with Illutan on Important Business.

They're an odd couple, but very together.

No mate crew:

My clan's OTP is these two: Amorette, who I bought off the AH without realizing she had lore. After a hunting party returned from an outing one day, Rhett was helping his great-grandfather Naryal organize the hunt's yield. He was given the task of sorting the smaller creatures into their corresponding storage cubbies. He scooped a zephyr sparrow off the side of the prey pile, only to be startled by the small bird as it fluttered to life in his claw. He felt sorry for the sparrow, as he had noticed one of its wings hung limply, twisted at an odd angle. There were also tufts of feathers missing across the bird's head and back, surely an unsolicited gift from the hunting party. He was glad he was the one who had found it, as Naryal likely would've finished off the young sparrow, deeming it as just a piece of prey that didn't die when it should have. Glancing over his shoulder to make sure Naryal wasn't watching, Rhett gently and quietly tucked the sparrow into the rumples of his mantle. Later, he would take the poor creature to Amorette in hopes that she could help it. * * * After the prey was all sorted and stowed away in the hoard, Rhett hurried quietly to Amorette's secluded den lower on the cliff side. Before the pearlcatcher could announce his presence, he heard a quiet voice from within the den say, "What do you want?" It wasn't a hostile voice, but it wasn't friendly, either. To Rhett, it seemed to be filled with resentment and mistrust. "Amorette?" "What do you want?" Rhett sat back on his haunches and slowly removed the injured sparrow from his mantle, making sure to not squish the tiny bird in his relatively giant claws. The bird chirped once as he carefully handled it. "I -" Before he could even speak there was a flurry of wings and serpentine body. The hermit spiral scrabbled for a foothold on his shoulder before allowing herself to slide down his arm to the sparrow. Rhett sat mesmerized as Amorette gently scooped up the wounded bird into the cradle of her arms. She whispered to it as her claws brushed over every inch of its being, taking in the details of its injuries and general physique. Rhett cleared his throat before saying, "I found it in the prey the hunting party had brought back." Amorette suddenly turned toward him glaring angrily, though her gaze failed to meet his eyes, landing slightly above them instead. "She," snapped the spiral. "The bird is a she. Not an it. And I know what happened to her. I can feel it. I might be blind, but I'm not stupid." 'Her demeanor may be cold as ice,' thought Rhett, 'but she sure has a tongue of fire.'
