ChaoticGlub (tysm for the questions! these actually helped me develop these characters a lot)
Varlan looked a little amused at the question. "Hmm, yes, I can speak," he murmured quietly, scraping a claw along the dirt absentmindedly. "And the head...? Oh, the skull. Don't worry, it's only like a helmet, or mask, sort of." The spiral explained, tapping the skull. "And my eyes are only covered because I'm blind, and others always tell me that my eyes look a bit... Creepy, I suppose?" Varlan shrugged, and continued on with the next question. He held out one of his smaller, blackened feathered wings. "My wings? Yes, I get comments on those a lot." He sighed. "It's sort of a long story. Some dragons in one of my old clans were trying to summon some sort of demon. Most demons like specific types of offerings and sacrifices. This particular demon happened to like fire; or more specifically, living dragons. On fire. For who knows what reason. So, I was the dragons' prisoner at that time, and they decided to use
me for the sacrifice. Luckily, I was able to escape before they completely roasted anything else except for my wings." Varlan muttered bitterly, scraping at the dirt some more.
Khethys' eyes opened, awakening from sleep. He jumped up, a little startled by the sudden voice. "Oh! Oh, right, yes, questions, sorry!" He said, sitting up quickly, looking embarrassed that he had fallen asleep. "Well... Orius is kind of like my own personal guard, I guess? I don't like to call him that though, because it makes me seem kind of like a weird really important dragon. And I'm not. Dragons like to say I am, but I'm
really not." He frowned, curling up his tail. Orius, who was sitting beside him, poked him with a claw. "Actually- You sort of are." The wildclaw stated, trying not to laugh. Khethys gave him a friendly shove. "Oh, shut up..." He muttered playfully. "Anyways, each clan of dragons have their own deity. It's one of the most important parts of the culture out here in this desert; as soon as you start your own clan, you summon a deity. If the deity agrees to become your clan's deity, they will start helping your clan in return for the clan's offerings and worship. So, my clan summoned a deity, which turned out to be me. Now, I didn't even
know I was a deity at that point. I just kinda... Existed. Didn't know my purpose or who I was. But anyways, blah blah blah, figured out I was a deity and agreed to help their clan, whatever that meant. But sooner or later, they figured out that I pretty much had no idea what I was doing or how to control my powers, unlike the 1000 year old super powerful deities that the other clans had. So eventually, they just kinda started ignoring me and forgetting I was there, except for Orius, who was one of my super cool guard-servant-whatever dragons, which I really didn't need any guard-servant-whatever dragons by the way. Me and Orius really bonded and liked each other, so we decided to just leave the clan and wander around a bit, because we both had no friends, and we both just wanted to leave. So obviously, after a while, we sort of... Fell in love, I guess." Khethys blushed a little, glancing over at Orius. "Of course, I've always really liked him. Really, he was the only dragon back at the clan who liked me as well." He smiled.
