I've seen multiple posts about help with lore, but those are only one person asking for help. I would like to make a topic for the lore community in which anyone can offer their opinions, lore, and dragons for suggestions, constructive critique, correctness, etcetera. Anything that can make a dragon's lore better, feel free to post it here!
Like any Flight Rising thread, be sure to follow the rules. There will be no special rules unless a problem arises.

Ooh. I don't know if this is the write place to ask, but are there any guides that can help you figure out where to even start with lore? I'm not even satisfied with the name of my clan! I'm still configuring duties for my dragons but I don't even know where to begin with lore. I love being creative and using big words. I need tips on how to make lore sound deep and interesting, and tips on how to generate ideas 0.0

I'll start.
So I have this little boy.

His name is Submit, and he already has character traits and a job. The problem is his backstory. I cannot find a suitable story for why he is how he is or anything special about him. Can anyone offer a suggestion? Even a vague and general idea would be a huge help!
Thank you.

This is a pretty thorough guide on creating lore for a whole clan. There are also a bunch of other links in there about different titles and whatnot that can help with your individual dragons.
But, I think it's most helpful to have a friend or somebody to run ideas by and whatnot!

How about working with his apparel? Submit might have a few stories about how he bought/found such clothing. Maybe he forged the steampunk in the Ashfall Waste. You could also work with his flight. He's a warrior? Maybe the large bird skull mask he is wearing is from a large crow he had slain in his born flight (and the necklace was the bird's children? *holyjeezthatwasdarkhahawhoops*)

It sounds like you're practically asking to become a better writer haha. It takes practice! Here's a few tips; read the lore of dragons of other users, especially users who are clearly an adult. Just skim over, jot down any lines or ideas that you particularly favor. Below are some sites with lists of 'flavor' words.
verbs

adjectives

When you're writing about a dragon, try to be very vivid and descriptive. Remember, you want to give your reader an idea of what is happening, but give them credit! Your readers will not always see what you see, so don't over-describe something.

Submit was forced to go on the run after his previous illegal/ immoral occupation was discovered. The short notice he had allowed him to bring little to nothing with him. This lead him to become very possesive and clingy to things due to the fear of losing everything again.
-A little blurb like that?

I very much agree with what Almedha said, it is very helpful to have someone to run ideas by or even just to brainstorm with.
To generate new ideas go online and use random generators if you are truly stuck. Don't use word for word from them but use them to get some concepts.

Flight Rising has some things in the Library for basic characteristics of dragon breeds, as well as Flights. Like how Shadow dragons are tricksters, Waters are oracles, Fires are metalworkers, etcetera. It also has stories about the history of the world of Sonerith.
Curses, mutations, or supernatural powers can also lead to an interesting character,
if it's written well.
I find coming up with small "headcanons" for your own dragons, then snowballing off them, is a real help. Say a dragon looks like it talks fast. Ask yourself why? Why does it talk fast? Does it have a nervous quirk? Perhaps the dragon feels as though it can't get a word in? Maybe the dragon was the only one to see a threat, but couldn't tell anyone in time? Maybe it can see the future, but only a few seconds in the future, so it speaks quickly to tell others before it comes true. There! I just made a starting point for a character, based only on a simple headcanon and a few questions.
As for your clan name, maybe try something you love? Or maybe base it off of your element? For example: my name seems like I would have been an Arcane clan, but I just really like space.
If my memory serves correctly, I think there's a lore forum. Whoops. Time to scour that form to see if this is still valid. I may move this there if that's the case.

Present, past, future, a blurb, more then a blurb? Anything would be helpful.
Thank you in advance!
