This thread will serve as both a way to showcase my progress and as a way to collect pings for anyone interested in the babies (and possibly the mates, I'm still not sure on that). [b]If you're interested in being pinged, please scroll down to the pinglist section to read more about it.[/b] If you just want to know what's going on in general, perhaps consider subscribing to the topic instead. All nests will receive themed names before leaving. No hatchling will leave unnamed. Once they are yours, you are free to rename them if you so wish. Users on the pinglist get first pick of the litter, but after 24h hatchlings will be put on the AH. [s]Bogglings will be a minimum of 150kt[/s] (gotta love dragon devaluation), every other hatchling will be priced according to genes/colours/breed/etc. I also accept payment in gems at 1:1000 or items, if you have something I really want. I have added the rules below for easy reference, though I have adapted them to best fit my needs.[/center] [list][*] This challenge begins with the selection of your matriarch. To pick one, she must fulfill two requirements. The first, obviously, is that she has to be biologically female. The second is that she must have never been bred before now. That's it; anything else goes! She can be from your clan already, from the Auction House, have any breed / color / gene combination, be immediately RTB or not -- the sky is the limit. The one thing I recommend without a doubt is that she'd be a dragon you'd permanently keep, because you're going to have her in your hands for quite some time. [*] Select the first mate for your matriarch. Literally the only requirement for him is that he's biologically male and thus can produce offspring with her. Note how this step says "first" mate. This is because your matriarch cannot breed with the same dragon twice across the duration of this challenge. [*] Breed them once they're both RTB and you have sufficient space! Make a note of how many children they've had and keep it. Maintaining count is key. I'd also recommend making a note of who the mate was, so that you never accidentally "double-dip." [*] [s]When the hatchlings are born, you cannot just immediately exalt them or sell them over the Auction House. On the contrary, you must ensure every hatchling gets a long-term home. This could be anything from becoming someone else's permanent dragon to being bred at least once in someone else's lair. Either way, they need to be kept by someone for a while before being exalted or exalt-trained, if ever.[/s] If you want, you may keep any hatchlings you get as long-term residents of your own clan. [*] Repeat the process from finding a new mate to sending the hatchlings off to find long-term homes until all 100+ hatchlings have found a place they belong![/list] [b]PERSONAL RULE:[/b] No mates can cost over 50kt. You can buy them straight off the AH, trade for them or use a hatchling from a different pair in your lair, but you cannot spend more than 50kt on each of them.

However, I am a bit of a neat freak, so I would very much prefer it if you didn't ask to be pinged on a reply to this thread. Instead, I have created a neat [url=http://bit.ly/100pings][color=#ff7dba]little spreadsheet[/color][/url] where you can input your username, user id and a link to your clan profile. That way, I know where to find you and you can easily add/remove yourself from the list without polluting this thread. I have added three different tabs to the spreadsheet for organizational purposes. There is a bogsneak tab, in case you are only interested in bogglings; a "other breeds" tab, in case you are interested in non-bogs (my mates will always be skydancers, coatls or imperials and you can specify which you'd want to hear about as well) and a general tab. General tab users will get pings when I put her on a nest with anyone, and will be able to see the breeding card for the pair with all the stats; they will also be pinged when the nest hatches. Bogsneak/other dragons tab users will only get a ping once the hatchlings are born based on the breeds of their interest. If you don't mind getting the occasional alert because someone commented on this thread, you can simply subscribe to the topic (by clicking the star icon over the top post) and save yourself the trouble. Dopamine (I really need to change his name) was the majority pick for Kali's first mate, so that's what I've gone with. Nest will hatch on the 18th, if my math is correct. I have begun to think up lore for this thread, and will be posting it sometime soon. I'm also about to PM a mod about moving it to the Creative Corner for that very reason.
