"I return Guardian!"
Calls a small voice augmented with magic as to draw attention its way. A reptilian creature that could easily be mistaken for a member of a beastclan tribe strides towards the cave. The crest on the back of its neck standing straight up. He no longer wears the same robes that he had on days before, instead he wears a tight fitting material that covers his chest and upper legs. A small cylindrical device is strapped in the small of his back partially resting on the base of his tail. Metallic leads run from one end of the device traversing both the lizard man's arms and legs before ending in protective plating set with single gemstones. His right arm bared a symbol etched into the heavy green scales, one of a stylized head with a neck frill similar to its owner, traces of inks that once filled the lines were worn away with age. Behind the head was a circle and lightning bolt running diagonally through it and a few bizarre symbols lost to time beneath it all. He does not waver as the guardian lands in front of him, this time shielded from the debris by his own magic.
"You wanted I return with my allies, and so I do. You say we need a scout, a dragon that can stay in the shadows and look ahead? The clan's poisoner is well suited to this role."
From out of the shadows steps a Pearlcatcher a pearl nestled under each of her wings, one white and one black, a satchel full of carefully packed vials at her side. She eyes the guardian as if knowing something about her, but she keeps a good distance staying back in the shadow.
"You say danger lies ahead, that we need to see it coming?" She starts, sitting back on her haunches as her two pearls float out in front of her. "Whatever lies ahead I can foresee it as I gaze into my pearls, see the secrets that they reveal, everyone's secrets." Her claws barely scrape along the surface of the two orbs as she looks over them at the guardian.
The small beastclan creature nods, feeling his choice was right to bring the pearl catcher.
"Belladona will serve as our scout, and if need be an assassin to eliminate danger before it knows we're there. Though if we can't sneak through or take out trouble before it arises we have our defender to fall back on." With those words their own guardian descended from above landing with several great down beats just behind the ambassador.
The guardian stands resolutely watching the cave protector from behind tinted goggles. Old bandages are visible beneath the heavy armor he wears and a scar just barely shows under his left eye. Many other marks of battle adorn his scales, but none of them much deeper than surface scratches. His armor is well kept, maintained as to not give out during battle, though some of the intricate filigree has been muddled. Slowly his tail warps forward around his legs, the small lantern void of it's flame.
"I am knight commander Gevelion, my Queen has sent me to watch over this expedition. She, Ahmaladeus, has granted me the strength to fight beyond my physical limits, no harm will come to my allies." His voice was certain as he had fulfilled such a role for the entirety of the clan's existence.
"Ahhh, where are my manners?" The strange beastclan creature said sheepishly. "Veeahtulkin, my humblest apologies, I am Quae, The scribe of the clan. I only came back because we've come to believe that there are relics of historical significance within that cave, as well as something our queen desires." He finished just in time to notice the arrival of the next set of clan members. The two mirrors stalked about on the cliffs above looking down at the cave guardian. One couldn't hold back and came crashing down just missing the guardian with a large cleaver clenched between her teeth. The force of the swing blasting the ground with enough air to kick up some dust.
"Kill..." she growled through the hilt in her jaws as she lifted herself off the ground. The half mask she wore was tilted towards the guardian as she started circling. Though something seemed to be keeping her from lashing out again. The other mirror took a route down the cliff side above the cave by jumping from ledge to ledge. This mirror jumps past the cave guardian and lands near the scribe. The various bone apparel clattering as he hunkered down beside Gevellion. "We come as called." He speaks with a hiss to the scribe.
"These two will be our fighters." Quae announces gesturing to the two dragons that have joined them just now. "Marrow, is our most powerful and most unstable. I would ask you let us pass so that she can channel her blood lust into whatever is in there." He regarded the white mirror for a second before looking at the one closer to him. "Skell here is one of the siblings that guard our lair. His sister would have been here, but our queen thought it best to occupy Marrow instead. This brings us to our finale team member. The one that will mend our wounds as he has now for quite some time."
On soft wing beats a skydancer of brilliant white swoops in, landing between the cave guardian and Marrow. Streaks of brilliant energy burn within his plumage as he stares down his violent clan member.
"Warmth of the sun be with you guardian, I apologize for any trouble that has been caused." The skydancer didn't take his gaze off the mirror as she kept pacing back and forth. The white plate armor protecting the skydancer was still in immaculate condition, cared for by a proud warrior. If the light burning within his plumage didn't give it away his golden eyes would easily label him as a member of the light flight.
"Now that we are all assembled, guardian, what say you of this team? A poisoner and scout found in Belladona, Our protective commander Gevellion, a kill team of Marrow and Skell, backed up by Lumous a former Exalted commander." Quae said approaching the cave guardian. "Oh, and I will be going as well, it was my knowledge that brought us here in the first place. There is something I must know if it still resides down there." He crossed his arms waiting for an answer, and he wouldn't take no as a response.
