Lore:
20816569_350.png

One day, Candy, a female Guardian dragon was in her clan’s laboratory with Raodral, the clan leader, mixing all sorts of chemicals and magic to make new spells and materials. But Raodral, knocked over flasks containing lightning, arcane, and nature magic and some beakers with solutions that would explode if they come in contact with any type of magic. The containers broke into a million pieces, mixing the explosive chemicals and the magical substances. Sadly, the new mixture caused a huge, magical and colorful explosion, destroying the lab and its contents. Luckily, Candy and Raodral survived.
Yet, Candy genetically mutated into a living, breathing, piece of candy. Raodral was just injured from the horrible explosion, but was mainly ok due to the protective clothing she was wearing.

Candy’s brain has been affected by the dangerous predicament, but not lethally. The change caused her to think like a bee while keeping her memories and how to behave around other dragons. In her lair, the outside and normal entrance looks normal, but later on, she soon made a huge secret network underneath her lair, organized like a hive. There are food and water stations, stored in hexagonal candy structures, and even the nests are in those hexagonal structures. The eggs need to be guarded because they’re candy, and anything would think it’s a tasty snack... Candy also made herself a very fancy, and elegant candy throne, where she can manage her dragons’ jobs, schedules, and needs. After many generations of new candy dragons after the first candy dragon, Mother Candy, delegated her eldest daughters to start their own hives in different locations, even going as far to the Plague region, since they’re immune to disease because they don’t really have true cells anymore. If the hive’s queen is killed, or dying, one of her children will take the throne. If there are more than one sibling that wants the throne, they will have to engage in a fight until one of the siblings is exhausted, and the hive’s inhabitance will vote on the preferred sibling after the fight. Whoever gains the most votes wins the throne. (Male siblings aren’t preferred to the throne, but will take the throne if there are no other siblings alive). The losing sibling will have to serve as a normal candy dragon based on their genes but will have some assistance with the royal blood’s personal servants.

However, dragons that aren't directly related to Candy can become candy dragons by workers throwing vials of different potions (that caused the explosion that Candy went through) at a dragon. They will be knocked out and carried to the hive. Workers choose dragons that are close to discovering their hive, and/or ideal worker candidates.

Other dragons don't know about this secret society of candy dragons, and how they work. Frankly, even Candy’s friends didn’t see a difference in her. But it’s best to keep this fascinating subspecies a secret, you wouldn’t want a war or revolt, would you?

Painted candy dragons tend to be more genetically strong than other variations. Usually they have the strongest candy spells and the strongest candy magic. The painted variant grows the quickest out of all of the variants and are generally hard candy. This variant leaks candy magic wherever he/she goes, which causes the things he/she touches turns to candy. They usually sell the candy they accidentally make. These dragons usually breed and produce more offspring than the other variants. -Mutated Painted Variant: Will add later -Sparkle-Swirl: The 2nd strongest magically-wise candy subspecies. The sparkles aren’t as physically strong as the painted variation, but are close to their magical abilities. The sparkles tend to mend the other candy dragons if needed and they make many tonics, or make candy as a living. They are in charge of taking care of candy hatchlings, and healing other candy dragons. They’re common as well.
-Normal-Swirl: The most common out of all of the candy dragons. They aren’t very skilled magically usually. Yet they’re decently strong physically. This variation is in charge of constructing/fixing candy hives/homes/dens, hunting, defending, and gathering food.
-Poisoned/Rotten/Moldy Variant (general): Are in charge of defending the nest by injecting venoms into the invader. This variant is made out of sickly candy/food, and are very adept in regeneration due to being able to find food to regenerate any body part. Are very adept physically, and are very agile.
-Poisoned Painted Variant: (Murk is the first of this variant) This variation the most adept Poisoned Variant there is. These dragons are able secrete the most venom and are able to make vast quantities in a short period of time. ~Poison Sparkle-Swirl Variant: These dragons are just a class higher than the poisoned-swirl variant, but have better poison abilities than their brethren. These dragons are in charge of the important messages and item deliveries and have better spots in defending their hives. -Poisoned Normal-Swirl Variant:This variant is one of the most common poison dragons out there. They are usually messengers between smaller hives or just an ordinary messenger to send out items to normal dragon clans and lairs. The abilities of the poisoned normal-swirl variant have the basic poison-combat abilities, yet they’re still very good in dangerous situations.
-Gummy Variant: This variation are very cunning and clever, and sometimes mischievous. This variation has incredible speed and intelligence, and decent magic power. The Glazed Variant are mainly scouts, spies, and assassins due to their intelligence and speed. Their incredibly shiny bodies are made out of frosting coating their candy scales (depending if they have an iridescent gene or/and shimmer gene). ~Hybrid Variant: The hybrid variant is the most bizarre out of all of the dragons. They are technically the 2nd most diverse variation (Poison is 1st) with the most sub-variations. If the dragon in this variant is more than 1 variant combined, it will gain those specific traits. Yet if the dragon lacks a gene it will be only half of what the candy dragon they should be, making them a... gross amalgamation of flesh and candy. It may not be obvious at first at least. These dragons usually don’t survive too long due to the gene issues. -Glazed Variant: Are coated with a sticky frosting or syrup. Tend to make whatever surface they step on sticky, and hard to move around in. Often act like spiders; they make a web or trap with their secretions that taste sweet (unless a poison variant). Often lure unsuspecting hatchlings, prey, food, or explorers. Tend to act sweet at first, but are generally cruel on the deeper end, and are sly and cunning. -Dyed Variant: Have a very intriguing ability to change colors at will. Novice and younger dyed variant dragons change their colors to their mood. Their standard tertiary color is their normal mood. Once they get skilled enough, they can change any part of their body to any color at will. -Striped Variant: Can pull of their contour gene like candy tape, and regenerate instantly. The candy tape can be used as an adhesive, whip, bandage, or whatever the dragon chooses to use it for. -Juice Variant: Are a large competitor with the poison variation due to their abilities. They can store a magical healing fluid in their visible capsule gene. They secrete their healing balm through the end of their tail like a paintbrush. Their healing balm smells like sweets and has a fizzy feeling like soda. -Taffy Variant: Are able to produce a pollen-like substance on their skin/scales, and can be puffed out, or gently scraped off to be used in potions, or just simply to be blown in a foe's face. Their powder can be used to make dragons fall deeply asleep. The powder may taste like powdered sugar or flavored sugar. Toxic candy dragons may have an odd-tasting powder, thanks to it being toxic, but rarely it tastes like normal powder. -Worker Bee Variant: Are the most physically and magically active out of all the variants. They can either make the most candy, the most delicious candy. They secrete a neuro-toxin in their claws, and can paralyze their prey or foe with it, unless it's a fellow candy member. Though may tire themselves out from being so active. -Caramelized Variant: Their shiny candy splotches are either very hard (work like armor), or ooze out or are partially melted on their hide. They can trap foes, food, etc if gooey. If a poison variant, their candy splotches are a nice pool of poisonous ooze if consumed or touch a wound (like a poison-dart frog) -Calavera (Sugar-Skull) Variant: The ghost gene on their bodies is a thick layer of sugar (like a normal painted calavera would have); it's generally flavored differently than the rest of the dragon. Those thick layers act as bonus armor, but have incredible regenerative properties if broken or cracked. Each time they get damaged, they generally get thicker each time it regrows. If the dragon is toxic, those markings are more toxic than the rest of the dragon. -Rock Candy Variant: The shiny crystal genes of the dragon are rough, ridged and hard. They can be used as extra armor, or even grow out to become spikes for more defense, or broken off to become weapons. If damaged they can regrow, but slowly thanks to their durability. Also they may be brittle from how hard they are. Toxic dragons can utilize their toxicity more by creating toxic armor, spikes, etc so their enemies may get sick more easily if hurt by it. -Dusted Variant: Their abilities may be mistaken for those of Taffy Variants, but are different. Like the taffy variant, the dusted variants are able to produce a pollen-like substance on their skin/scales, and can be puffed out, or gently scraped off to be used in potions, or just simply to be blown in a foe's face. However, their powder creates rashes, irritations, or inflammations wherever it comes in contact with. Those irritations may drive foes mad by making them incredibly itchy and uncomfortable.
Dragon Variations and Characteristics:

Breed Requirements:
-Genes listed below
-Colors must be food related (sweet foods preferred) (even poisoned, rotten, or expired food)
-Any breed
-Any element
-If the colors are sickly, the dragon will become a poison variation

Breed-Specific Characteristics:
-Pearlcatcher: The pearls they carry are actually giant jawbreakers. Each of them have a unique flavor depending on their variation.

-Guardian: Their horns are very sharp, but can regrow quickly if lost. Inside the horns, there's layers showing the dragon's age, but each time they regrow, the horns appear to be different. Are the most water-resistant out of all of the races due to being originally from living in water.

-Mirror: Their eyes can regrow or regenerate from damage or loss, and they have the best sight of all of the other races.

-Imperial: Grows special sugar crystals from their horns. Can be very lethal or toxic if the imp is from the poison variation. Their horns act like branches from a tree, they keep growing and need to be pruned; more often they get pruned, the more crystals they can grow. Inside the horns, there's layers showing the dragon's age.

-Bogsneak: Have special cavities in their throats that can carry food, water, or whatever they decide to put in there.

-Tundra: Their fur isn't fur! If someone yanks too hard, it'll come off. Their fur feels like cotton candy and is made out of whatever their candy type is.

-Fae: Can hang from ceilings like bats, and usually construct the uppermost parts of the hive due to their ability. Have excellent hearing. Are potent with their magic abilities.

-Ridgeback: Can retract their larger claws voluntarily. Have the highest pain tolerance.

-Wildclaw: Are known for being very swift and physically strong.

-Nocturne: Are swift flyers. Usually inhabit higher parts of the hives like Faes, but are stronger physically. Are often gatherers for insects, and plants. Are generally curious.

-Coatl: Their downy feathers can turn soft to very sharp with a flick of their wing. Ouch!

-Veilspun: They have a secret stinger in their tail where they would painfully jab at any of their prey or opponents in a swarm. These stingers secrete a hot sugary syrup. If the dragon is a poison variant, it will be venomous.

-Abberation: These dragons have a "false" head, where they would use it offensively in a battle, but if it gets cut off, two more heads will grow in its place, slowly over time. These heads do not have a brain, they can eat with it, and see with it. Instead of testing virulent strains on themselves, they are known to test different substances on themselves to see if they grow stronger, larger or faster.

-Gaoler: Similar to Tundra dragons, their fur is a form of cotton candy, however, it is more water resistant, thick, and fast growing. Their horns require trimming.

-Undertide: These candy dragons are completely waterproof due to their aquatic nature, but generally they have a gummy-like texture to them, and can coat salts on their exterior to "compress" themselves to not take as much space.

Dragon Variations

-Painted Variant: The most magically experienced candy subspecies.

-Mutated Painted Variant: Will add later

-Sparkle-Swirl: The 2nd strongest magically-wise candy subspecies.

If a poison variant, their candy splotches are a nice pool of poisonous ooze if consumed or touch a wound (like a poison-dart frog)

-Calavera (Sugar-Skull) Variant: The ghost gene on their bodies is a thick layer of sugar (like a normal painted calavera would have); it's generally flavored differently than the rest of the dragon.

General Characteristics

-made out of glucose, fructose, lactose, etc
-Broken/decapitated body parts regenerate if the dragon finds the same material they're made out of.
-Gives off sweet aroma (if not the poison variation)
-Huge endurance, being comprised of sugar or natural energy itself
-Being edible...
-Can be bred with any dragon
-Can create anything into the candy that they’re made of through magic
-No disease, headaches, nausea, etc can affect the candy subspecies
-Candy dragons are technically immortal, unless you obliterate the head, 'organs', arms, legs, wings, tail, and claws, leaving no trace behind
-You can bring that candy dragon back to life if you do a complicated spell on a piece of the dead candy dragon. The spell can be only obtained from Momma Candy, the queen of the hive.

General Behaviour:

-Momma Candy:Stays most of the time in the Throne Room doing her daily tasks for half of the time, then she goes outside of the hive to do her candy selling job to gain income for her hive. Is generally sweet, but can manipulate dragons very easily with her silver tongue.

-Hive:The hive is a complex of different types of rooms.

Families live in their own quarters while single dragons share quarters with other fellow candy dragons. The dorms for the dragons are the closest buildings to the entrance, because if there is an invading force, dragons in the dorms are able to protect their hive. Young dragons are required to live in the farthest droms away from the entrance with their parents, so the parents can raise their children.

There are 3 food and 3 water sections of the hive, which are the 2nd deepest parts of the hive. Each food and water section is guarded by 2 troop dragons. Meals are prepared in a middle section of the hive, which connects to the eating chambers. The meals are skillfully prepared by a group of chef dragons, and are ensured to be delicious.

The farthest section of the hive from the entrances is the throne and royal rooms. It is vital to keep the queen protected from possible invading forces who want to kill the queen.

There are storage facilities inside the hive as well, to store wealth, items, and many other important goods. Those facilities are located near the food and water sections.

There’s one single but big workshop station inside the hive to produce beds, furniture, tables, etc.

-Troop Dragons: Are strong and trained for combat. Usually they all live together unless they have a mate.

-Nursers/Healers: Are very agile and magically adept, but don't want to fight themselves. Will fight if forced to.

-Teachers: Teach what is necessary to the hive.

-Chefs: Are skilled in what they prepare. May add special magic in some meals to help promote strength, growth, etc. May poison someone's food if they're on a watch list (if not a candy dragon).

-Young Dragons: They get taught, and trained on whatever they need to do. They can play when they have free time, and are monitored to see their progression in personality to see which job they'll take in the future.

-Hunting: Attacking in a pack/swarm, and being stealthy and selective.

-Gathering: Carefully selecting the plants, but will bring back some seeds or the actual plant back to the hive in the garden section.

Flight Characteristics

-Arcane: The first descendants of Momma Candy or the “origin”. Are generally the most curious out of all the flights. Yet are confident in what they do, making them pretty strong as a hive, but it may lead in overconfidence when it comes to decisions and fights. They are the most knowledgeable due to them being the 1st descendants.

-Lightning: (Momma Candy’s element is lightning) This flight of Candy Dragons are the busiest, and most energized out of all the flights, usually overworking themselves like bees in a hive. Dragons of the other flights usually have to monitor their working hours so this flight won’t hurt themselves.

~Light: This flight is the flight that usually does research the most, and are very logical. These dragons usually do the teaching due to their scholarly personality and mindset. They also help to do the most important decisions due to their unbiased personality.

~Earth: Are strong, tough, stubborn, but wise. They like to mine for valuable ores and gems for their hive.

~Plague: Act tough and rough for the most part. They end up as fighters of some sort or trainers. Are very flexible and adaptable whenever a change occurs.

~Wind: Are very relaxed and playful, and are also social butterflies. Usually they end up as spokesmen to dragons outside of the hive but also are messengers inside the hive. Some also end up being trainers or dragons to play with, when it comes to younger hatchlings.

~Shadow: Are playful, manipulative and tricksters. Known for pranking fellow hive members, and also unsuspecting dragons near the hive. Usually make traps when there are unwelcomed dragons entering their territory.

~Fire: Usually the most temperamental out of the rest of the flights, but are also passionate. Usually they end up as chefs, builders and craftsmen due to their passions and creativity.

~Ice:This flight is the most serious in the hive, taking care of the material wealth, banks, food & water supplies inside of the hive. They are also analysts, making sure the environment is good for the hive and deciding what is the best food source for the hive, and puts a great part in making big decisions in the hive with the light flight and Momma Candy, and are monitored by the earth flight candy dragons.

~Water: Are very mysterious and wise. Often they are placed in keeping secret information safe from outsiders. Some of them have special foretelling abilities that end up being Momma Candy's personal servants.

~Nature: Usually are very nurturing and kind. Most of the dragons of this flight end up as teachers and guardians for the hatchlings. If they're not cut for hatchlings, they're placed into tending and growing crops.

On hiatus, again--might come on here to see how things are doing but that's all.
@Pippypip20 of course! You can breed her and S.Cake together. If you end up with gross or toxic colors, the dragon would be a poison variation. If you don't then it would either be a swirl dragon or a dusted variation :)

@bloodgem ok, I'm happy I can get two mates planned in one fell swoop today ^^
Got a mating planned for my imp and pearl even though the lore says they don't like each other XD
