Recently, a new species has been discovered roaming around the lands of Sornieth, and joining numerous clans across the world. ----- [center] [size=6]Origins[/size][/center] The Bloodmoon are believed to have originated from a battle between the Trickster and the Mage; the Shadowbinder and the Arcanist. The two different elements were said to have combined, creating a cross between Shadow and Arcane. Thus, the Bloodmoon were born. Due to their creation, legends soon emerged of mythical creatures resembling the Bloodmoon. The monsters were said to have teeth like the sharpest blades, five winding tails, black blood, scales that obscured and swallowed any light, and patterns painted using their vanquished foe's blood. This, however, is just falsities and old wyrm's tales. The Bloodmoon are wise, generous, solitary and peaceful, simply staying away from any who may cause harm. If, however, the time is dire, they will each use their battling skill depending on what variant they are. [center][size=6]Variants[/size][/center] ----- [center][size=5]The Duskblades[/size][/center] The Duskblades are the Shadowy, physical battlers of the Bloodmoon species. More secluded than their magical counterparts, Duskblades are only found with [b]Shadow/Shadow[/b] colouration. They prefer to stay on their own, most leaving their mates once their young has been raised to teenage years. Those that stay with their mates are rare, but raise more nests than those who leave, expanding the sparse population. Despite their secrecy and camoflage within the Tangled Wood, if the Duskblades encounter any creature, even other Bloodmoon, they will carefully consider their opponent's weaknesses, and may challenge them if they pose a threat. It is uncommon for a Duskblade to run from battle, but they will never challenge a Starmage or a foe weaker than themselves, unless they are hunting or fishing. ----- [center][size=5]The Starmages[/size][/center] The Starmages are the magical, and social, variants of the Bloodmoon. Of course, they are only social within their species, and actively seek out other Bloodmoon simply to talk. However, if Starmages come across a species not of the Bloodmoon, they will take flight and disappear quicker than an Ethereal Trickster. They frequent the Starfall Isles, and are only found in [b]Mulberry/Mulberry[/b] colours. They are the most peaceful of the Bloodmoon, and tend to forage or insect-catch. ----- [center][size=5]The Hexthorns[/size][/center] The Hexthorns are considered the "odd ones out" of the species, despite being just as common as the Starmages and Duskblades. Hexthorns are found in an equal combination of Shadow and Arcane, as [b]Blackberry/Blackberry,[/b] and are spread across both the Tangled Wood and the Starfall Isles. It is unknown why they display both elements, but it certainly has an adverse effect on the dragon. They are much more outgoing than their reclusive counters, and are often seen, leading some to the false belief that these variants are more plentiful than the others. Hexthorns tend not to fight, and instead play, dig, and scavenge.
